Ordered à la carte--raw eggs, missing toast, slow service. * Atmosphere: Chaotic. Screaming kids, crying babies, coughing, spilled food, no peace. * Beach: Towels require 1 card each--only given 2. No beachside service. * Food/Drinks: Few options, overpriced. $17 for a plain burger, $15 for weak mixed drinks. * Pool: Packed with kids. Cabanas are rentals--no casual use. * WiFi: Gone by Day 2. That was the last straw. We left early. Some staff were nice, but overall service was inconsistent. This place leans on location and nostalgia, but the experience doesn't justify the price. The tub had exposed holes where the safety pole was missing, which is completely unacceptable. The ceiling fan looked like it was ready to fall off the ceiling. The common areas were disgusting. Dirty stairwells, dirty hallways, steep stairs going up to the second floor rooms, and an overall grimy, worn out feeling everywhere. For the money they are gouging out of customers, this property should be spotless and updated. Instead, it feels tired, neglected, and badly managed. The staff was no better. At a 4:30 PM check in, they told me my room was not ready. Then a manager had to come over and correct the mistake. So not only is the place overpriced and rundown, but the staff does not even seem to know what is going on. The location is the only decent thing about Ocean Mist, and even that does not come close to saving it. The beach is small and unimpressive, and the outdoor pool is basically the size of a kiddie pool. Calling this a resort is a stretch. Calling it luxury is flat out insulting. For what they charged for a loft room, I could have rented an entire house and had a far better experience. Ocean Mist is an overpriced joke. They are charging outrageous money for a dated, dirty, poorly maintained property that does not come close to matching the price tag. Never again.

Unfortunately, I felt my concerns were not taken seriously, and I found the response to be dismissive and disrespectful. When a potential safety issue involving children is reported, I expect it to receive immediate attention. Aside from this issue, the resort itself was okay. However, guest safety should always be the top priority. I hope management addresses this concern promptly so future guests can enjoy their stay without worrying about the safety of the pool area.

We have always visited Bayside during the winter months, so we've never had the opportunity to swim in the outdoor pool, but during our recent visit I took a walk around the property and the outdoor pool looks great as well. There are also two fire pits outdoors with several comfortable Adirondack chairs overlooking a wetlands area with a view of an osprey nest. S'mores kits are available to purchase for use at the fire pits. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the free breakfast includes a great variety of breads and cereals, several hot items such as eggs, sausage, waffles, as well as self service waffle and pancake machines. Love the variety of coffee options and flavored creamers. The small hotel pub is actually pretty cool as well with lots of dollar bills hanging from the ceiling and tacked to the walls. The story is that guests have written their names on the bills and have fun finding them on return visits to the hotel. The only downside to the Bayside from my perspective is that the pool is very popular with children and the pool can be very crowded. Bayside has implemented some pool rules (no balls, no glass, no floats) and does not allow children in the hot tub. They also have reserved 10-11 PM as adult only time in the pool. We weren't traveling with kids, so we got up early and enjoyed quiet time in the pool first thing in the morning.

Plenty of parking and nice little indoor pool and little hot tub but these could have used a good cleaning deck area around them full of hair and standing water. The front desk lady gave no info on check in and was a bit brusque but whatever. We would def return here for another weekend.
