Loved the sushi here.. this might be my new favorite spot. Very happy with everything we got- so fresh and delicious. I could tell they use high quality ingredients. The order was packaged nicely and looked wonderful. Highly recommend!!

I recently visited this place, and the staff were incredibly friendly. It felt like a hidden gem, and the food was excellent. The tuna was fresh, and the toro and Japanese uni were absolutely delicious. It's definitely a place I'd love to visit again.

Slightly off the beaten path, so you will likely miss it if you don't catch the sidewalk sign directing you down the canal. Pretty small spot with a friendly staff. You place your orders downstairs and they bring your food to you up stairs. Fish was really fresh and everything is priced pretty fairly. My favorite item was the yellow tail, and the salmon belly was probably a close second.

Salmon sashimi, salmon belly nigiri and salmon temaki! Best salmon belly in town for that matter.

Still my favorite... family owned very high-quality fish you won't be disappointed, it's in a very charming spot in Georgetown.

i've seen this place on yelp and it was on one of my lists to visit. I finally got a chance to go today and i was very impressed with the quality of the fish. It's definitely a whole in the wall kind of place that pleasantly surprises you. I ordered the salmon belly seared nigiri, toro nigiri, yellowtail tail belly nigiri and crunchy spicy tuna tempura cut roll. I liked everything except the spicy scallop roll. There was an overload of sauce on top while most of these kinds of rolls are typically mixed in with the fish. It was a little too much and i decided to send it back. The waitress gave me a really hard time although if i knew it'd be that way i wouldn't have said anything at all. After she thought about it for a solid 10 minutes, she decided she's take it back. The service is fairly quick it was just this run in with our waitress that made the service experience not a 10/10. Food quality is 10/10 service is 6.5/10. Would definitely come back though just because this fish i couldn't imagine going long without!

Hidden gem! This restaurant is truly worth visiting!! You order downstairs and then they give you your table number and eat upstairs. There are only a few tables but they're not super cramped. It's nicely decorated with open windows overlooking the canal. There's enough light. The service was great, they were very courteous with good menu suggestions. They were friendly as soon as we walked in. I got the baked salmon roll and it was INCREDIBLE!! I got the green salad as well, which was very refreshing and yummy. Highly recommend!

I've been going to Bluefin for sometime now and finally got the chance to leave a review. Upon this visit I opted for the Salmon and Tuna rolls which both were refreshingly tasteful. Customer service with welcoming as usual. Ambiance is calming and dining areas are clean. Always consistent, I highly recommend Bluefin if you're in the area.

Best sushi ever! When we moved to DC in 2017, we went to as many sushi restaurants in DC as we can since we eat sushi at least once a week. After a year of searching, we found Blue Fin and became a regular. It's not a fancy place BUT they offer the best nigiris, rolls, and sashimi... and the owners are extremely friendly once you get to know them. Friends and family members I've brought here have all loved it too and agreed it's the best sushi they've had. After 5 years, we moved to California and we miss Blue Fin sushi so much! This is the first restaurant we visit every time we are in DC. If you are on a date, get some sushi take outs at Blue Fin and have a little picnic by the Georgetown water front.

Cute spot on the canal, just tucked away from the hustle. The unassuming shop is tiny with only a couple tables as you walk in, but a handful more upstairs. We dropped in for a quick lunch Saturday and were the only customers while there. Service was adequate and cordial, pricing good. Smaller rolls, but my daughter noted the generous portion of fish in hers. Overall a nice lil lunch.

The layout is interesting -- there's an upstairs when you walk in, but the sushi bar and a good bit of seating are downstairs. The menu is pretty straightforward with a mix of hand rolls, appetizers, specialty rolls, nigiri/sashimi, and traditional rolls. They also have a few solid combo deals, though I usually prefer trying a variety of items instead. Service was quick, which is always appreciated at a sushi spot. We ordered a few specialty rolls, two traditional rolls, and a couple orders of sashimi, all served together on one platter. The rolls were a great size -- filling without being overly large. The sashimi was fresh, and the traditional rolls really balanced out the meal nicely. The flounder and tuna sashimi were both excellent, and the California roll made with real crab was simple, fresh, and really satisfying. The total came out somewhere in the $70 range, so after tip and splitting it between two people, it was about $40 each to try multiple rolls and sashimi. Definitely fair pricing for the quality and amount of food. This spot had been on my list for a while, so I'm glad I finally made it over. I'd recommend checking out the menu beforehand so you can go in with a game plan and try the items that stand out most to you.

This is definitely in the third category, so don't go expecting 1 or 2. This is the "real thing," and you are lucky in DC to actually experience it (typically you'd have to go to NY or LA to get it in the US). This place is fantastic. The option not be censoring reviews based on real bad experience. I used to support yuzu in Bethesda regularly, but this was an unbelievably awful experience. First, they claimed that none of the three heat lamps were working for the outdoor patio, leading to discomfort and over eating and you need to chase down the server for hot water (or anything else). For the chirashi, the rice and vegetables were too salty..They refused to replace the sushi ric with white rice as a courtesy and maybe order us another side of white rice. When I tried to cancel it because I didn't want to give this place anymore of my money or time, the server claims they already made it, which is ridiculous, they should already have rice ready made. The server gave himself a generous 22% tip Even though he was completely useless and full of s**t. I left hungry after $100 lunch. Which was completely devoid of dietary fiber. While walking around Georgetown in the afternoon, I ended up eating nuts and chocolate that I originally bought to take home for later consumption. Thousands of calories with associated gi distress yet grossly malnourished, after an incredibly disappointing visit to this establishment that should be closed down.

If you love old & new R&B this is the place to be on Thursday & Sunday nights. My only complaint is that the music is so loud it's hard to have a conversation or even place your order. We had to ask our waitress multiple times for limes, soy sauce and a to go box. I don't blame her for being overwhelmed since the music was so loud but there is room for improvement! Sebastian Roll: 10/10 fried crab roll was delicious. This is my new go to roll! Buenos Aires Roll: 7/10 nothing crazy. Reminded me of an elevated California roll with torched salmon on top. Vegetable Gyoza: 7/10 pan fried instead of boiled which I prefer! Kind of bland. Would be better with a different sauce or added protein. Calamari: 7/10 good but it did not stand out. Comes with both rings & tentacles. We don't like tentacles so we ate around them.

It's a fine spot if you're looking for a quick meal in Georgetown, but it's not a destination spot by any means.
