I called about a potential gas leak and the guy, without asking questions and spending about five minutes looking at the leaking joint, went back to his truck, wrote up a quote and handed it to me. $2,400. I called a real estate friend who sent me to Rainbow plumbing. He came out, found two leaks and repaired them BOTH for $650!!! I also own an Airbnb so recommended Rainbow to the owners group. So, this week I had a broken kitchen sink, a broken shut off valve, and when I went into the crawl space under the house saw there was a leaking pipe. Filled out the form on here and Bluefrog contacted me back within 15 minutes. They scheduled a free estimate, and Jason was able to show up early. I cannot stress how incredibly professional and knowledgeable he was. He was completely honest with me, explained everything inside and out, and thoroughly looked at every pipe in and out of the house, plus the breakers to diagnose the problem. He was able to do the job within a day and a half, under the estimated price, and did an amazing job. Edit: Only way possible I know to respond to the owner. Your reply does not describe my service call. There was no flooded basement, no urgent emergency, and no immediate response. This was a scheduled appointment arranged a day or two in advance for a small leak at a hose connection that was being managed prior to your plumber's arrival. There were also no other marketing stickers on my water heater. The only stickers present were original manufacturer and instructional labels. Your plumber added a large Blue Frog marketing sticker without asking, and it tore and left residue when I attempted to remove it. The invoice total was $441, so describing the repair as "cheap" is not accurate. The issue remains simple and unchanged: do not place advertising on a customer's equipment without asking first. Fictionalizing an urgent emergency and reframing the situation as exceptional customer service does not address the concern raised in my review. This was not an emergency call, and the review had nothing to do with pricing or availability. After the plumber left, I noticed that he had placed a large, obnoxious Blue Frog Plumbing marketing sticker directly on my water heater. He did not ask for permission. He did not mention it. He did not give me the sticker and ask if I wanted it applied. He simply put it on my property without consent. I do not want ugly marketing stickers on my equipment. It looks cheap, it looks unprofessional, and frankly the giant frog logo is an eyesore. When I tried to remove the sticker, I discovered it is a very thin, low quality sticker that tears immediately when you try to peel it off. It rips into pieces and leaves residue behind, making it even more frustrating to remove. This is not about the cost of the service or whether the repair worked. This is about basic respect for a customer's property. You do not put permanent advertising on someone else's equipment without asking. Period. Even if Blue Frog Plumbing offered the lowest pricing in the area, I will never use them again. Quoted my elderly father 4K for a standard gas water heater replacement. When I spoke with the tech over the phone, I asked why it was so expensive and he said 'that's just what it costs.' When I asked what kind of water heater he stated an 'entry level Rheem - it's the least expensive one we carry.' Which means they are essentially charging 3K for labor. I told him I thought that was high and and I said we would try somewhere else. My Dad said he just walked out without any explanation to him or saying anything at all. I will never call this company again and you shouldn't either. *Update - I found a competitor to do the install (including permit) for 2600.00, also with a Rheem product. Obviously because I was not provided any costs from this company (including the water heater itself), I have no way of knowing exactly what the 4K quote was for. Hence my 1-star review remains. Finding out the leakage was very severe due to the age of the building. The technician accessed all the damages, and we agreed on the repair. 30 min of diagnostic, 2 hours of repair, $1450. Disappointed ... they rescheduled twice before actually coming out then I was overcharged being told I needed something, "or it could flood". I was quoted almost $200 less than what I paid. Would NOT recommend or use them again. Also my person argued with me when I asked if the sound and time after flushing was normal as it still seemed off after he supposedly fixed it. I called another plumber after and they confirmed I was overcharged by around $150. I even called to complain and instead of making it right they simply apologized and said they'd share the feedback. THEN... Tom the supposed owner writes back wrongfully accusing me of screaming??? Wow Nice try Tom. Get your facts straight as I was the one that called in saying I was uneasy about the tech AND that I was overcharged AND that yes in fact it takes more than two minutes for the toilet to stop ( all in a direct and calm voice.) I also called two other plumbers that said this did not sound right and that your company has a very bad reputation for these types of situations. Super mixed feelings on this one. Their price to 'clear' one line was more than $300. Didn't do the trick. Told us that is was a problem with settleing of the house or something, to use enzymes, and hopefully that'd keep our weird backup at bay. Only recently had this problem, and the house was built in 1931, so doubt it 'settled' last year for no particular reason. Other outfits offer a less than $100 clear it or it's free deal, so maybe next time one of them? Technician was nice enough and seemed very knowledgeable, but the issue persists and we are out a Nintendo Switch amount of money. Overpriced, underdelivered. read more
