I must say, I am a 66 year old woman and although I am not usually afraid of the dentist, the term "root canal" had me a little nervous, especially since I didn't start off with any pain. The office atmosphere was welcoming and the staff was very soft spoken and pleasant. Dr. Horwat explained everything he would be doing and also explained things along the way. The process was very methodical and completely painless for me. I was told the type of pain I would feel after the procedure, and Dr. Horwat was dead on. I was given a couple of pain relievers to help with the pain before I left, and I didn't have any pain until the 3rd and 4th day, and it was manageable with tylenol and advil. I do not want to have to go through this again, but if it did happen, I would not have anyone else do the procedure. The only thing I would negatively comment on, is the fact that a couple of the ladies behind the reception desk were discussing a patient's (no names given) procedure (i.e. pulling teeth, etc) as well the cost involved, and that does not help a new patient's anxiety when sitting in the reception area when you cannot help overhearing such a discussion. Just a recommendation to take that conversation into another room! Everything else was great from beginning to end!

My 18 year old college student recently called me from her dorm literally crying in pain saying her jaw hurt. We got in with our dentist same day and were referred to Endodontic Associates as it appeared a nerve died in a tooth that had a cavity filled a few years back. They got us in within 25 minutes, diagnosed her, and to my great surprise offered to do the root canal the same day. My daughter came out of the procedure saying that it went smoothly and she had no pain or discomfort throughout. She reiterated how friendly, caring and nice Dr. Sparrow and his staff were. He explained everything and even drew a diagram to show my daughter exactly what to expect prior to getting started. She woke this morning to no pain and was back to her typical self. They care more about lining their pockets with cash than their patient's safety and well being.
