Bluemound Animal Hospital is by far the worst run facility I have ever had the misfortune to take my dogs to. Dr. Weaver, Dr. Wertz are completely inept. My dog needed surgery to remove a cancerous cyst in her right rear thigh. After the surgery the incision was never closed properly. I had to take my dog back to be stitched, stapled the next day, and re-sticthed with a drain on the third day. Finally they decided to treat the "wound" (as they described it) as an open wound, because they could not properly close it. Of course I was extremely upset. In fact I got into a shouting match with Dr. Weaver's daughter when she informed me that I would be charged for the extra work in closing the wound/incision and for the medication since it became infected after the first opening. That was complete B.S and I let them know exactly that. What I find ironic is Dr. Wertz and Dr. Weaver refused service of our family dogs over this (as of today). These individuals should not be practicing veterinary services with the neglect on not only my animal but any in the past. Any one reading this post should take this into consideration when thinking of taking their family pets to this sub-standard clinic (in my opinion). A complaint will be filled with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and consumer Protection against Bluemound Animal Hospital. If your animal has been treated similar I strongly suggest you do this too. Recently we were sent an email on June 7th, 2023 that our dogs were due for a number of services (Heartworm Test, Lyme Booster, DHLPP Booster, Bordetella Booster). An appointment was made for June 30th at 2:30pm; Upon arrival for our appointment we were told that Bluemound Animal Hospital was denying service to our dogs because of the explained situation. A receptionist claimed that a voice mail message was left on my phone. I can honestly tell you that no message was left and I seriously doubt a call was even made. Whatever the case if they (Bluemound Animal Hospital) has an issue with me I can accept that. But to refuse service to an animal goes against all of my fiber of my soul as a pet owner. Keep in mind that if this happened to me it may very well happen to you. Which is why I seriously would advise you to look for a different provider of service and stay away from Bluemound Animal Hospital. Attached is the stapled work after the wound has already been infected. This was after we were given the cone which was not provided the first day. The other pictures are far more disturbing as the wound had much more pus and drainage on the third stitch work. Reminder after calling the service they blamed us (owners) as negligent because we never used a cone that was never provided to us until the second day (second stitching). This is a very serious negligence by medical professionals. Either the establishment standards are falling apart or they honestly did not care about helping our animal.

They are where I've been taking my furbabies for over 30 years. I tried places that are closer to where I've lived but ALWAYS end up going back!! They are Very. Knowledgeable and dont mess around with guessing games! They are more than happy to include you in the process and listen to your ideas for the care of your baby. I'm putting my baby in there hands in hope of healing her Right, this time around! Place in Clean, friendly staff, they have been around since that area of Brookfield was all farm and the patients were horse and cattle. I'm putting my trust here!!! They have a lit candle to let you know if a family is saying goodbye to their baby. The sign asks to be mindful when lit. That is a very Special thing to do for the grieving family!!! Praying my baby pulls through!!!

My dog has been dealing with a minor ACL tear, and I've been carefully managing her recovery. At our annual checkup, I brought this up to Dr. Nelson, hoping for guidance on anything more I could do to support her healing. Instead of offering any helpful advice, she dismissively told me to "just let the knee tear" and "get ready for surgery." She then added something along the lines of, "Oh, and be ready for the other knee to go--just so you know, it'll cost about $3,500 per joint, so you better start saving up." This was beyond unprofessional. Not only was her response completely lacking in empathy, but it was also condescending and inappropriate. A vet's job is to help pet owners care for their animals, not to assume financial situations or push surgery without discussing alternatives. Needless to say, I will never be coming back here. If you want a vet who actually listens and supports you in making the best choices for your pet, look elsewhere.

While five minutes may not seem like much, it feels much longer standing outside in mid-February in Wisconsin, especially when you are nine months pregnant with a large elderly dog who struggles to get in and out of the car. The veterinarian himself is kind and respectful. I choose not to elect every vaccine that is recommended, and he does not pressure me, which I appreciate. However, during my first few visits after moving here, the environment felt sales-driven and somewhat judgmental. Over time that has improved. I will also give credit to their technicians who very much love animals. There is also significant paperwork required prior to visits, including liability waivers and consent forms allowing conversations to be recorded and transcribed into notes. While I understand policies exist for a reason, the overall experience feels very corporate rather than personal. This makes me believe they have a higher office they answer to in regard to liability paperwork and sale quotas. I have lived in multiple places over the last eight years and have used several veterinary offices. In my opinion, their pricing is on the higher end compared to other clinics I've used, and there often seems to be a push toward additional services or treatments that don't always feel necessary.
