I've had vehicles maintained and repaired here for many years. Just had them do a somewhat unusual repair, replace a seat heating element. I started bringing my car here for an emissions test and found the facility to be very clean and the people were friendly. I asked about a repair unrelated to the emissions test and they looked at my car right away. Since then I've had my aging Volvo in for repairs several times and they been very fairly priced and have never suggested service above what my car was in for. When you find a car repair place that's honest and trustworthy, you stick with them. They're not all that close to where I live now, but I will continue to bring my car (and my son's car) here for repairs. read more

I got a slow leak in one of my tires and called Bluemound. They said, bring the truck in--and in less than a half an hour, the leak was fixed--$24.00!!! I really like this business--it is one of the very few HONEST repair places I know of. I haven't always had a vehicle they could work on--I used to drive a diesel pickup (Fors F-250), but when I have a gasoline vehicle, I always go to Bluemound Automotive for car/truck maintenance. Bluemound Auto now gets five stars. These mechanics have to be the most honest people I have ever dealt with. We recently had our SUV at the dealership. The dealership told us our back brakes were running low and we needed to have them replaced. No way I would ever get my brakes done at the dealership because of the cost and time factor. I got an appointment with Bluemound Automotive to check the brakes. Since we only have one car, they dropped us back off at home while vehicle was being inspected. We got a phone call less than two hours later with an update. Our brakes, front and back, are 100% fine. They won't need any work for at least 10,000 miles. Sheesh! I'd go five, but I'll wait to see what future trips bring. I woke up yesterday to a ticket on my windshield and sheer annoyance in my grin. After all, I have a night parking tag and I was in the right spot. But no, it seems I had an improperly displayed registration. Turns out that meant expired. Who even looks for these things? So, I go to do the online renewal, because technology beats waiting in line at the DMV. But then it seems that I'm also due for an emissions inspection. Which you can't do online. Because even technology tells you to piss off once in a while. I find myself a conveniently close place to get the check done, make my appointment and show up five minutes early. And they tell me their system is busted. So sorry. Maybe try the place down the road...Bluemound Automotive. So nice of them to call and let me know. They were a little busy when I walked in, and at first I was told that they wouldn't be able to spare someone to take care of the test, especially without an appointment. But then he asked why I'd come, so I explained the steps leading to my walking in their door. He laughed about how they didn't even bother calling me ahead and just let me drive down. And then he said to hold on a moment, looked at his papers and asked for my keys. Not ten minutes later, I was done and out the door. I didn't have cash or anything gift worthy on me, but this is a start. I'll bring a 6'er of some sort of tasty beer later one. It was a nice gesture on a cold Friday that didn't generate any real revenue for them. But, should I need to have something done on mine, I will absolutely come back this way. read more

I've brought two cars here. One was my dying 1993 Chevy that I needed to get me to work for another week before I bought a new car. They fixed it up so it was running -nothing more, nothing less. The second car I brought in, I asked for the tires balanced and aligned. I also asked them to check the life of different parts of the car since the wheels were off. I expected them to tell me everything needed to be replaced. They told me my rear brakes would need to be replaced within 5k but I didn't have to rush. Andy and his guys are honest and won't push for unnecessary fixes. The quotes have been spot on and are great about calling when diagnostics are done. My father fixed my cars for years...now it's time for him to relax a little. I have no qualms about these guys fixing my car. read more

This morning I needed some BIG help. About to set off on the highway for Indiana, my car was making noises like it had a failed wheel bearing. I found Bluemound on Yelp and drove over unannounced. Bluemound did an exceptional job. First, they got the car in immediately. Second, while I waited a block down the street at George Webb, a really great neighborhood diner, Bluemound discovered that the bearing was fine - a fender liner had come loose and was rubbing against the tire - a few cheap plugs solved that. Their quick service got me back on the road in less than an hour - I didn't even have time to finish my cup of coffee at the diner. Their honesty saved me hundreds of dollars. Very cool! Reading this (the first review) made me remember the time I took my beater to Bluemound Automotive over 20 years ago. Same story, they were very honest, fixed my ride for much less than other quotes I had gotten, and did it all very quickly. Another time I took the same jalopy in for a minor problem and they fixed on the spot at no charge. I haven't had to take any of my cars there lately, however, I always get a warm fuzzy feeling when I drive past Bluemound Automotive, knowing that there are honest, helpful businesses out there. read more

I called this afternoon to get an estimate on how much it would cost to have my alternator replaced. The woman on the phone was extremely rude and abrupt. When I questioned how much it would cost to have my current alternator repaired by a different shop that specializes in that (which I would take care of myself) and re-installed by them she simply said "we wouldn't do that. bye." I had more questions about other options for having my car fixed by them, but she hung up on me before I could respond. After being recommended this shop by another mechanic that I trust but can't get into because they're booked up for weeks, I'm severely disappointed - but glad to take my business elsewhere. read more

This is NOT one of those service places that invent urgent-sounding, expensive repairs that of course you absolutely must have or you would be stupid. We've taken our cars to Bluemound Automotive for at least eight years, and I'm convinced that they approach vehicle care with an eye for saving the customer money while providing excellent service. Many times my total bill has been much less than I feared. They really get how to foster long-term loyal customer relationships. And they are fast. If I ever had a reason to move away from Milwaukee, Bluemound would come to mind as a reason to not want to leave....a good mechanic is so hard to find. Not the pace for tires... look for someplace that has a road warranty. I purchased tires from this place and less than a year later, the tire started to bulge out and needed replacing. This place offered to sell me 2 new tires at full price. I felt ripped off. I am rating this place 3 starts because I could have asked if the tires were warrantied and I have no evidence that the bulge in the tire was not from a road condition. read more

Time and time again Bluemound automotive has gotten my vehicle running very promptly. Granted, the majority of the time I've had my vehicle towed there. Their prices seem reasonable although it's not like I had the time to do any research. Very accurately diagnose the issue, give you an estimated time and typically beat that. I just moved to Milwaukee and needed an oil change, for a mechanic to figure out why my "maintenance needed" light was on and a brake battery replaced. These guys were nice on the phone when I called, got me an appointment for the same day and were quick and professional about the service. I took my car back in 2 days later for the emissions test required due to me newly registering my car in WI and they got it done in less than 5 minutes even though I was early to my appointment. The only downside is there is no indoor space for customers to sit. There are 4 chairs in the garage space itself where one can wait or a couple restaurants down the street including a McDonalds. If your car service will take a while, bring a ride. read more

These people are heartless and cruel. Their faulty garage door fell and hurt my elderly father on the head, and he didn't want anything from them, just an apology. They threw him out and threatened him saying he better leave or something else would happen to him. Never go there. Unless you want the same horrible service and cruel treatment. read more

No stars from me. $87.50 for a part and $220 for labor and my check engine came on 3 days later again. Recently the heat went out on my 2006 Pontiac Torrent and some of my co-workers suggested taking my car to Bluemound Auotmotive. it is very close to where we work and they all have had great experiences with them. I brought my car in and they let me know that the work I needed done would be around $800 to a $1000 to fix, but they were honest enough to let me know that this should be covered under a special warranty bulletin. I would never have known about this. I am so impressed that they informed me of this coverage and I will most certainly be using their services in the future. How refreshing it was to not feel taken advantage of for a change!! read more
