I stumbled into Bluewater Seafood after getting a mailer with two coupons: one for a $20 gift card off, and another for 25% off the entire bill. Kind of a weird setup though, because the bartender told me I could only use the $20 gift card if I was paying with a gift card... which felt a bit off, but whatever. Overall, this place was just okay. I get the feeling the boils might be the star of the show here, so I'll probably come back to give those a try. I ordered the sampler with fried green tomatoes, boudin balls, and stuffed jalapeños. The flavors were there, but the boudin balls were a little too salty. For my main, I went with the etouffee and asked for both shrimp and crawfish. It was flavorful, with a solid dark roux that I liked. I sat at the bar, and Crystal was my server. She was super friendly but admitted it was her first time making the Bloody Orange Lemon Drop. I gave her a couple of pointers for the second round, and she nailed it - so props for that! In the end, the experience was just fine. Not bad, not amazing. I'll probably come back to try the boils, but for now, it's a solid 3 stars. read more

This is my absolute favorite place to eat crawfish. There are three things that make for the ultimate crawfish experience....a great patio, good music, and crawfish seasoned with fresh garlic. This place is a staple in the neighborhood. The OG! It keeps getting better and better. Oh and did I mention Pain Killers. If you are looking to unwind and enjoy the day, look no further. "Seafood Hits the Spot, but Service Misses the Mark" 08-30-2025 I absolutely cannot believe I've passed by this place for many many years and never tried it out until now. I came here on a Saturday afternoon with my sisters and our fifteen-year-old godsister after doing a little school shopping for her at Willowbrook Mall. We had a fabulous time, and we all enjoyed our meals equally; the quality and taste were excellent. Our entrées were delivered fresh, piping hot, and full of flavor. No complaints there! The only disappointment was my appetizer order of fried calamari. It was definitely not the best I've had, honestly, not even close. The pieces were thick, overcooked, and rubbery, making them unpleasantly chewy. A total bummer and a waste of $13. Now, about the service: our server was attentive, but her style came across as pushy and unprofessional. She didn't communicate clearly, and instead of asking if we wanted refills, she simply pointed at our glasses back and forth as if we were supposed to guess what she meant. At one point, while wagging her finger at the drinks, a particle flew off her hand and nearly landed in one of the glasses of cokes. I was appalled! Additionally, to make matters worse, she brought wet wipes for my sisters but instead of leaving them on the table, she opened the packages herself and handed them out one by one, issuing them out as if they were children. My younger sister flat-out declined hers when she saw this happening. Honestly, why would anyone open customers' wet wipes for them when handling food and drinks? She seemed like someone who had just been hired and thrown straight into the job without training. Another complaint I have is that the server didn't clear our appetizer plates before bringing out the entrées. Now, mind you, the platters are served on large rectangular plates that take up a lot of space. When she tried to hand me my food, I asked if she could place it back on her serving cart and clear the table of the appetizer dishes and leftovers first, so my family and I would have more room and be more comfortable. To her credit, she did it right away without any attitude. Like I said, she was attentive, but her service skills came across as unprofessional. That said, the food more than made up for the service. It was hands-down delicious, and we will definitely be back, just not with the same server. If you love good Southern fried seafood, this spot has it on lock! I highly recommend them! Unassuming place on 1960 in North Houston. I'm giving them a 5 star review but that only does a half service as this place is an over the top 10. Hands down some of the best seafood we have had in a long time. We tried them twice, once for dinner with Todd as our server and today for lunch with Corey. Both waiters are great and you can ask them any questions about the menu and they will point you in the right direction. For dinner I had grilled shrimp and steak while my wife had their grilled mariners platter. Both were great. Today for lunch wife had a dozen oysters on the half shell and I had an awesome pound of garlic roasted shrimp. Sides are all made in house so fried okra is hand breaded in a light breading and the green beans are fabulously fresh and delicious. The restaurant has both indoor and patio seating and a pretty awesome soundtrack at just the right volume level. If you are in North Houston this is a necessary stop for some really kick ass seafood. I really enjoy getting to-go crawfish from here because not only do they have great deals, like 5lbs/$30 or 5/lbs/$35, the seasoning is kickin', the crawfish sizes range from medium to huge, ordering and picking up is super easy and the staff are all so nice. This Bluewater Seafood restaurant on FM 1960 is the original location (I think) that is not to be confused with the other Bluewater Seafood also on FM 1960 near Hwy. 290 about 7 miles away. It's been a few years since my last visit here and I stopped by for lunch the other day, I noticed that they have taken the parking spots directly in front of the restaurant to expand their outdoor dining experience. Nowadays you have to park around the side or behind the restaurant. With this expansion the outdoor seating now exceeds the indoor area which also includes a small full bar. I ordered the regular size blackened catfish entree with shrimp rice and grilled veggies on the side for $12. The food arrived about 10 minutes later and along with the aforementioned items included one large blackened catfish fillet. This meal was delicious. The fish was flavorful and delightful to eat along with those yummy roasted vegetables and shrimp rice. I've had this meal at the other location and is just as good here. It's my go to meal when I come to a Bluewater Seafood. My table service was attentive too. read more

We came in to celebrate my dad's would've been 78th birthday. He loved seafood. We've been coming to Bluewater Seafood for many many years. Today we had two of the Mariner's dish and one chicken fried steak. We also had two gumbos and a clam chowder. Markus is a total rockstar! This place has been around for many many years when I first tried this place many many years ago I didn't really appreciate it as I do today. My go to Mail is the fried jumbo shrimp with fries. I chose "Spicy" and was told it was "extremely spicy" and was asked if I was sure I wanted that. I said I enjoy spicy so Yea! Personally, I didn't feel it was very spicy at all. CAUTION: I eat/love spicy! So not spicy to me is way spicy to others!! Anyway, it takes a bit to get the food, but everything was good and had good flavor. Nothing "OMG!!"
