It gets slightly annoying sometimes but I have come to expect it. I have usually always liked the fish and shrimp or whatever I've gotten here but my last trip not so much. This was my first time requesting catfish particularly as I have tried to avoid certain fish types. I feel like the catfish I had was the worst fried catfish I have ever had. The shrimp and fries were subpar to what they've been in the past. I have had good fish here many times in the past so I can't put the review too low based on this one time. I went back and tried the crawfish and ordered spicy and got unseasoned. I'm highly disappointed and they probably lost a regular. I can't believe that spicy has absolutely no heat to it at all. Did you happen to just walk out of certain other crawfish places because they are too crowded and/or they want $8.99 for a lb of crawfish? Well I think I found a gold mine here. Last I inquired it was $5.99 a lb, that is not a typo folks, $5.99, you have penny?! You get to pick from spicy garlic or regular non spicy. The only drawback is I do not believe they purge their crawfish so you get that nasty mud taste one in every lb if you are that unlucky. They are pretty good size too, not gigantic but you won't be disappointed. Parking is ample, there are lots of businesses around and even though it's on an end cap there still is space around for parking comfort. Service, you will bump into one of the most nicest Asian couples that you have ever encountered. They have lots of patience judging by me sitting there eating and watching asking for everything from A to Z and then some constantly. You know what I wish they had in EVERY restaurant and I love here? A sink outside of the restrooms! You know what I am talking about, you wash your hands to turn around and find out some restrooms only have those hand dryers and you have to open the door with your hand or wait hopefully somebody from the other side is walking in. Big plus in my book plus you get to show off to everybody "Look, I'm only one of the 5% clientele that ever washes their hands in an eating establishment!" Another main special is the 30 medium count fried shrimp for $12. It is well worth it and served with your choice of fries or fried rice. There are many other goodies for your consuming pleasure here as well. The list goes on from fried fish, oysters, shrimp of course, po boys, boiled shrimp, boiled blue crab (the lady will tell you crap but she means crab) and much much more. Also and big plus is their tarter sauce! You would swear it's home made but I suspect they use a quality tarter sauce to begin with and add maybe an ingredient or two. Got dill? Prices here are very reasonable and you will be hard pressed to find anything cheaper. Cleanliness is above average for an Asian place. One tip I must let you know is that they do not have "cajun fries" even though all it is is regular fries with the cajun spice that is sitting right there on the table. "Yea you, pick me pick me, shake shake shake". They can easily add "cajun fries" on the menu, making an extra buck and just shake the spice in the back but I guess nobody has told them yet. read more

I live in the greater greenspoint area, and I'm huge on seafood. I had seen this place so many times but never stopped in. My barber shop is on veterans too. With that being said my barber had mentioned this place and recommended it to me. Im a "Lotus" guy but he said the prices here were way better. I'm all about getting more bang for the buck. So tonight I stopped in and had dInner here. I ordered a pound of crawfish(spicy) and a number 11 which was 16 shrimp with fried rice. My seafood cravings were re satisfied today!!!! The crawfish was really good and the spice was amazing! The size could have been bigger but for the price I wasn't trippin cause the flavor made up for it. The fried shrimp was also really good. "Capitan"? Aye am ceritan that it is not a spelling mistake. It's just Spanish. But what does that have to do with a Cajun restaurant, you ask, especially one run by Asian workers? Marketing, I guess. Or, was it Spanish in quiz isn't one? (think pun) The menu lists a variety: Cajun, Vietnamese, Mexican, and good ol' Southern fried seafood ... and a beef po-boy. Crawfish is the main attraction here, at least the size of the sign would indicate that. But about half the menu is basic Cajun style. Perhaps the idea is to appeal to mixed dating/marriages of Cajun, Asian, and Mexican guys and gals. Or, this is how the American Melting Pot idea is evolving? Oddly (?), there is only one item on the menu offered "chargrilled": oysters on the half shell. C'mon, man! If you have the ability to char-grill, then offer fish and shrimp char-grilled. At the counter is some dry Cajun seasoning that you spoon on your food (it can go in Pho, if you like). I mixed it in tartar sauce, because it needed something. But, the cajun seasoning is high in salt. So, the additional salt to that in the main dish winds up making the food too salty. My order: - Fish taco: had too much mayo and two ring-finger-sized pieces. Although the fried fish was perfectly cooked and not visibly greasy, this was not a good value. - Fried shrimp (6): Shrimp were farm-raised, probably from southeast Asia. This was a fair value in quantity, but I just don't like the pseudo shrimp. But someone needs to eat those so that Gulf Shrimp can be priced higher at more upscale places. French Fries (oh, I forgot to add that country!) were actually superb. They are thin cut, not greasy, perfectly cooked, and tasty (no doubt from Idaho ... oh, I forgot to add that country!). The facility contains completely new everything (en todo, toute, tt c) in a contemporary decor. It is kept clean (at least after the 3 wks it's been open). read more

I mean seriously...the floors, RR's, tables...everything spotless!! #2: Service was extremely quick & friendly. And this is even with us busting thru their doors 15 minutes before closing!! #3: When you hit the door the smell of freshly prepared seafood just hypnotizes you. It's just amazing!!! Like I wanted to jump over the counter & hop into the kitched to see what they use to season their food bc it just smelled soooo good. By the time we got home, our food was still piping hot! #4: The food taste even BETTER than the smell. All of our orders were freshley prepped. No fried rice that'd been sitting around all night. No shrimp left over from a large batch they made for last minute customers ahead of time so they could start cleaning up. No freezer burnt fish filets...all were on point! #5: Price, menu options & portions seal the deal. For $22 bucks we had: 1lb crawfish, 2 platters that included 2 fish filets, 6 shrimp & fries and 1 fish taco. The fish filets were huge, not 1 filet cut in half like I've seen some places do. They weren't stingy with the condiments either...again tho we were last minute customers ordering to go. They have TV's set up so you can catch the games & they also sell beer. I can't wait to go back and try their snow crab. The only change I'll make is ordering my crawfish or anything I get boiled spicier. I have been here many times and seems like for every 3rd trip I make here the food isn't as good as the other past times but obviously I continue to come here for a reason, right? Their menu is simple and tasty, they have several items on there to full fill the seafood lover; a mix of Asian, Cajun, and Mexican all in their fresh seafood. The prices is what really drives me to come here and the speedy service, a great place to bring the entire family! My fave items to have on the menu is their spicy and mild crawfish (when in season).
