I love this restaurant and their seafood deals throughout the month. This location is surrounded by other businesses and eateries. Parking can be difficult if visiting on weekends. This restaurant has ample natural light and clean. It can get pretty busy when they have their specials and weekends. The first time I went it was around 5pm and it was crowded so service was definitely slow this particular day. I enjoy their dozen shrimp boil with one corn and potato deal for $8.99. The shrimp are a decent size and the seasoning is very good. I have had their house margarita and it is okay. It reminds me of the drinks they serve on vacations, not very strong and cheap liquor. Their peach tea is really good. Ask for half peach/half tea. Overall I really enjoy this restaurant. I would recommend to anyone looking for reasonably priced and tasty food to visit. read more

Okay, so, this national chain restaurant. Let's just say they weren't exactly rolling out the red carpet. First off, the "78 person occupancy" sign? Felt more like a suggestion than a rule, because it took a solid chunk of my life just to get acknowledged. I mean, I get it, places get busy, but I counted, like, ten whole people sitting down. Not exactly a five-alarm fire. And no, I didn't want to be serenaded by the clanging symphony of the kitchen - pots, pans, and staff gossip aren't my ideal dinner soundtrack. Then there was our waitress. Oh boy. She marched us to a table, let out a sigh that could curdle milk, and then proceeded to have a little pow-wow with her coworker. I happened to catch the coworker's "Oh my God" and their subsequent sprint to the kitchen. Real smooth, guys. Real smooth. From that point on, service was basically the bare minimum: order taken, food dropped, one obligatory "how's everything?" (delivered with the enthusiasm of a tax audit). The grand finale? As we're trying to pay, the restaurant's emptied out, and BAM! Three employees are chilling, eating, and looking at my partner as she wrestles with her wallet. I swear, I could feel their eyeballs boring into the back of my head. She had to go out to the car to get her wallet, and as she walked back, I could see their reflections in the window. It was like a scene from a unwritten comedy movie called "I know you're gonna eat and run". One of the staff members stop his eating and finally lumbered over and took our payment, probably annoyed that his eating had been interrupted. So yeah, one star less. They earned it. read more

The booths & bar area high tops are designed to make you feel like you're on a boat. There are Holiday decorations around the restaurant celebrating various occasions (i.e. Mardi Gras), which I find to be a nice touch. They have a decent sized lunch menu and the portions are fairly large. Service is fast. Onsite parking & lots of shops nearby to peruse after. Rotating specials and seasonal events. Clean space, although the bar area tables seemed to have a bit of a delay being bussed. I always get the herb crusted chicken and have heard others say the seafood is pretty good. I have gone to this restaurant several times and one of the reasons I continue to return was because the food was very good. I visited by myself and I've taken a couple of friends there recently something has changed a couple of weeks ago. I walked in I think it was around the change of the shift. People were lingering. It couldn't have been more than 3 to 4 couples sitting dining. The bartender saw me at least three waitresses seen me standing there a couple of them walked within three feet of where I was standing. I thought well maybe it totally up to the hostess to set customers so I sat in one of the chairs up front and waited for what felt like at least 10 minutes, then I decided to stand so I could be seen and no one came over every continued to do what they were doing. As if I was part of the decor. at some point, I walked toward a table and then and only then did a young woman meet me at the table I had chosen and set a menu down with a chilling someone will take your order. The barmaid that had been looking at me the whole 15 minutes comes over and I mention to her that I was feeling like I was being discounted, I know I had been standing there long enough for some body to have at least recognized me and said someone will be Wright with you, sir. The hostess is away, on a bathroom break or something. Give me a moments I'll grab a menu and I'll seat you or something of the sort. She stated they no longer have a hostess at this point apologize and eventually offered me a coupon for dessert if and when I returned, this is where it gets real. I did return a week later yesterday and I got the same treatment I didn't wait as long I seated myself again. The bartender came over a different one took my order. my food arrived, and as I was eating, I witnessed something that made me furious the same waitresses, and I remember them distinctly saw customers coming through the door that happened to be Caucasian and before these people could clear the door they were standing by the entrance with menus and hand and ushering them to seat. A gentleman had walked by introduced himself as a general manager earlier. ask me how things were going, and after I saw this, I called him over. I told him exactly what had transpired what I had saw just now and before I could finish my sentence first thing out of his mouth was I can tell you now it's not racism and I ask him then. What is it? The first time I experienced it was an incident a second time it's a pattern please explain to me how I witnessed other people that don't look like me being treated differently. read more

Came here for a date night and really enjoyed our meal and the service. We went around 8pm on a Friday and the restaurant was a little empty so we were a little nervous but the bar was full and everyone at a table seemed to be really enjoying their food. Our server was super nice and helped me to navigate the menu with my food allergy and even checked with the kitchen for modifications. The portions here are ginormous, but everything was pretty good. We stop here often for lunch or dinner as it is convenient and our meals are delicious...and filling. Service is always great. We belong to their rewards program so we receive points as credit for dining which is a win win for us as we enjoy their specials (drinks & meals). My personal favorite is the Cajun Pasta, so is often difficult for me to try their specials or their other menu items, but I have never been disappointed with any selection. If you have not been there then give it a try. The dining area is open but you can still have a conversation while listening to a variety of music, in the background. On a whim ordered long distance delivery doordash because I was craving fish & chips and this place seemed to have what I was looking for and boy was I right!! The coating on the fish was so crispy and light and the fish itself meaty and flaky. The slaw was perfectly spiced with freshly cut veggies and also very light and refreshing. The Valentines Lunch I planned for @ Rockfish was good. My wife and I decided to go early and beat the crowds, and was a great choice. We had not visited the restaurant since December 2020. We patronized Rockfish once or twice a month prior to 2020. The food was good. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip and it was not as good as we remembered, but not bad. My wife had the salmon cooked medium rare and she loved it. I ordered the seafood enchiladas and the sauce was a little different than I remembered. The tortillas were a little tough but edible. The rice was good and flavorful. We ordered dessert. I got key lime pie and it was very good. My wife ordered the bread pudding and she loved it. Our server was awesome. She catered to our needs and was very responsive at all times. Overall good experience! The restaurant was not full around 2 pm on Valentines Day. It was not noisy, and the choice of seating was more than adequate. read more

Would definitely go back!! Lunch today with my daughter and we were both pleased with food and service! Only wish we had taken advantage of the outdoor seating, as it was a beautiful day! We tried the rockfish sampler. Volcano shrimp, jalapeño fritters and spinach artichoke dip. Everything was great! I ordered the redfish étouffée at the recommendation of our server. It was fantastic. Edges of the redfish nice and crisp. The shrimp was delicious. Although I have never actually tried grits before today, the jalapeño grits were delicious. This place was beautiful. The problem is the food doesn't match. The crab cakes and Diablo shrimp appetizers were the best thing we had. The crawfish was extremely salty. I believe they probably just season the shell instead of the boil water. I also had the charred oysters but there was zero flavor on anything. The martini were not made right we had to order an extra shot to make it taste right. The lady that served us was outstanding. All in all for 170 bucks for 3 people I really expect better tasting food than what we got but now we can mark this place off the list. We have always loved Rockfish for their fresh fish and good value, however, when we visited on December 26 we left wondering if this place is on the decline. We were not seated or greeted when we Entered. The waiter looked at us but didnt say anything. He should have said "someone will be with you momentarily." My husband ordered grilled trout, which didn't taste fresh and french fries that tasted like they had been sitting awhile. My daughter had fish & chips that also were marginal. The highlight of the evening were the mussels in a white wine sauce. Very good. The restaurant lacks the polish and professionalism it once had. I hope it gets better. read more

It's sad to have an affordable seafood place so close to home and the food is terrible. The fish, and I've had grilled mahi-mahi mahi and fried catfish, is low quality and overcooked. The fried and grilled shrimp are not memorable or enjoyable. The string beans and red beans are the BEST items I've had. The gumbo is alright but not good enough to reorder. Instead, spend more $ and go to Pappadeaux, Cassandra's or Blue Water (nearby competition). I haven't tried The Catch or Old Harbor yet, but the locals like those spots, too. There's a BeBe's off Tomball Pkwy (about 10-15 min away) and their seafood is good, too. Just don't eat at Rockfish. It's sub par. read more

We discovered you they do not devein their shrimp! That was quite shocking considering the caliber style Rockfish fashions themselves as, and we-were-STARVING too! It totally ruined my meal experience with my family. Honestly, I've never gone to a restaurant that prepares shrimp meals that WEREN'T deveined - otherwise, it's just not considered clean. Even though we came in and there was 40 minutes till they were closing, they still treated us with excellent customer service! No rushing answered all the questions we had and was pleasant the entire time! The food was excellent.. I'm not a big fan of hush puppies but those were absolutely deliciousness! And I can't remember the name of the drink that I got but oh we it was sooooo GOOD!! It was a Hurricane and Margarita mixed and it did NOT disappoint!! We passed a thousand restaurant's only to find dope new eatery and I thoroughly enjoyed. We met a couple from Louisiana who we conversed with and we had a lot in common. But the restaurant was pretty crowded at that time. So we sat outside on the patio ordered our food and I so enjoyed the noise of people going about their day. The restaurant was clean our waitress was awesome with good customer service. So they do have handicap parking and curbside parking/service as well. But as we are leaving the restaurant, a white gentleman ran outside and started to check his truck to see if I hit it backing out. So I rolled down my window and politely said sir I didn't hit ur truck. He sarcastically waved me off as if it's Okay this is something he's used to doing. But other than that racist experience or not, we had a lovely time. And will I frequent this restaurant again? (( ABSOLUTELY )). Maaaannnn oh man! We have missed Rockfish!! We had The Bomb for an appetizer and they were absolutely delicious!! Ooey, gooey, hot and fresh! The perfect combination of cheese, green onion, bacon, shrimp pieces were so good that we were fighting for the last one. The onion petals were the icing on the cake! The service was okay, but I've been grading on a huge curve during the pandemic. If you can come and risk your life so I don't have to cook garlic bread, not gonna bitch about you forgetting something. I am concerned that the kitchen may or may not be all microwaves. The food was all on par with the "free breakfast" at a Holiday Inn Express. The "lump" crab cakes definitely were made at a large processing facility and were devoid of all taste and flavor. They were these soggy, sausage patty sized discs of culinary defeat with pre bagged dipping sauce. No way I'm calling that a remoulade. I've seen larger portion sizes for the $16 crawfish Étouffée in a jar of baby food. It was okay, but for that portion size that better make you wanna slap yo mama. My mates seafood enchiladas had the presentation and execution of a baby doing the cooking. I noticed most of the clientele were septuagenarian and octogenarians and anecdotal experience has shown this demographic is just happy to be out of the house! Good food or not.
