I brought my car to this body shop twice for the same issue, and both times I was told there was nothing wrong--despite clear signs something wasn't right. I eventually took it to the dealership, where they immediately diagnosed a serious transmission problem that required urgent replacement to prevent further damage. I was still responsible for the diagnostic fee, despite the body shop's repeated failure to identify the issue. To make matters worse, when I picked up my car from the body shop, the windows had been left down during a rainstorm. The interior was soaked. I even paid for a full detail out of pocket, but the moldy odor still lingers and makes the car unpleasant to drive. When I brought it up, they deflected responsibility, blaming a supposed leak--something the dealership confirmed wasn't true. Not only did they fail to diagnose a major issue, but their negligence caused additional damage. The lack of accountability and professionalism was extremely disappointing. read more

My car was dropped at the Rydell Bodyshop. My insurance referred me to this car rental company. I arrived and began to ask about what cars they had available. They only had 4 cars available. I went outside to check it out and a gentleman was giving me the prices on the regular cars. I was looking more for a sport car because I own a Camaro and don't want to drive anything lower than that. He said I couldn't afford the car that I wanted. I couldn't believe the professionalism of this representative. I called my insurance to change me to a different company. I don't mind paying extra if I'm going to get a car I want to drive. I was disappointed I was treated that way today and I will definitely never be back there again. Worst experience ever. I'll definitely let my insurance know about my experience here. read more

It was my luck that brought me to Blumer's over 13 years ago. My truck was towed there in the early morning hours by triple AAA and I didn't really know how lucky I was at the time. Greg and his team are genuine and honest! They always provided great service and my truck ran great. When it was time to trade in the truck for something else...Greg and his team helped me examine the car I am still driving after 8 years. I moved out to Simi Valley 4 years ago and have been to 5 different mechanics. I have been ripped-off, misguided, finagled, swindled and even put in danger (one of them screwed with my front breaks so I would have to have him fix them) by EVERY single one of them. I have been a customer with them since 2009 when they were formally called "Tony's Club Service," and have been so happy with them since. (I even wrote a review for them back in 2011 under the former name.) My fiancé and I refuse to take our cars anywhere else, even just for simple oil changes. Staff is friendly, honest, and really takes pride in the work that they do. They will not nickle and dime you either like chain garages or dealerships, and instead will work with you to find the best cost effective way possible to repair your car. They even called the dealer to see if they'd cover some work on my car under warranty so I could save some money! They honor AAA discounts, which is how we found them when AAA towed my fiancé's car to this shop back in 2009. I HIGHLY recommend this shop for anything your car may need. The team at Blumer Auto Center are amazing and such decent humans. I have been there twice now, and they have not only been wizards with my truck. They are so quick with the turn around on repairs, and are fairly priced. The first time I went there the issue was with my fuel gauge, and I had thought I had a massive problem ahead of me, but I had only run out of gas. They didn't make me feel stupid which was very kind, and provided me with options for repair to the fuel gauge. I went back this second time because I felt so safe there as a woman trying to navigate this auto repair world. This time I had hit a solid wood mounting block and bent my bumper. They were great at listening to what I needed - when I asked for the range of options from a repair that made the truck look brand new to what would it cost like if we zip tied it on - they came up with a great plan, that worked with my situation and were able to fix it faster than I had expected. They exceeded my expectations and it looked like I had never had a brain fart and hit something huge. I would recommend this place to my mother, and anyone else I loved. The waiting area is nice, clean and modern. They had Top Gear playing on a huge TV and I was almost disappointed they were so fast as I was enjoying the show - who knew I liked car shows?! Only went here because they were AAA recommended. Never again. I had to have my car towed here because I had a bad alternator. They told me they had to give me a full report on everything wrong with the car. I told them I know that I have several things wrong, but they were insistent so whatever. Were supposed to call the next morning. At 4pm, after not hearing anything, I called them and they said oh we will get right back to you. Shortly thereafter they called me and told me it will take longer than expected. He told me they needed to switch the battery and the alternator for over $800. He didn't mention any of the half dozen other things that I knew were wrong with my car. Plus I thought this was strange since I just bought a battery about 6 months before he said that. So I asked why the battery. He replied, "It's easier for us." Knowing my way around a car, I knew that didn't make sense. So I pushed back again and he stuck with it's easier. I got angry because it's just not true that it's easier to install a battery the same time as an alternator. I explained how he could start my car in an easier way without me purchasing a new battery (jumper cables, hello!) He then reluctantly agreed to replace only the alternator with the cost still being over 650. Next week I took it to a real mechanic to get an official report of what needed fixed. Things Blumer didn't tell me about when trying to sell me a "necessary" new battery: * Struts * Fuel Sensor (can't even pass a smog test) * Something to do with my heater * Other mostly cosmetic damage Several months later, still haven't bought a new battery and I'm fine. I did have another mechanic look at my battery though and he reported no problems. Long story short: They pretend to tell you everything wrong with your car when in reality they haven't even checked. They then try to up sell you services that you don't need. Don't like it and want to go somewhere else... you still need to pay their very expensive "diagnostic fee" even if they incorrectly diagnosed your car. read more

My car was towed to this location because my car was not turning on. The people were nice and friendly and informed me that they would need to run a diagnostic test. They ran the diagnostic test on Friday and reported that I needed a new engine and wanted to charge somewhere around 3,500 to 4,500. I received NO paper work stating anything wrong with my car as proof. I did however have to pay for the diagnostic test. I scheduled for my car to be picked up by the junk yard and provided my signed pink slip. When low and behold my car starts up. My car was literally driven to the junk yard tow truck. You can imagine my upset. If I knew my car would start up and actually move I wouldn't have gone through with selling to the junk yard. I think this place just wants to make money off of you. I do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Finally able to write a review since I'm back on yelp... all I can say is horrible service! I called because my car was making a noise and the check engine light was on they said they could see my car right away!! so my husband dropped off my car ...they never called to let me know how long it was going to be, my car was literally in the shop for about 2 1/2 days which is a total inconvenience every time I called nobody knew what was going on with my vehicle or I would be placed on hold for long periods of time. After 2 1/2 days of not having my vehicle they finally told me my car was ready for pick up I paid about $700 and change they didn't say much was wrong with it ...after leaving the shop my back windows were no longer working out of nowhere and the lift to hold up my hood was now broken. I came in for an oil change and he honored the AAA deal no hassle or pressure to upsale anything. He did give a pretty detailed list of what kind of work my car would benefit from (spoiler alert: everything) My car is old and on it's way out BUT again I was not pressured to get extra work done and Max was very knowledgable and COMPLETELY HONEST which is a rare trait when it comes to these types of services. I was in an accident and my insurance company requested Blumer Auto Center. With my first accident years prior , i was referred to a different shop and i was not pleased with the service nor the repair work, so i was kind of hesitant to repairing my vehicle at Blumer Auto Center. When i arrived they looked very busy but they still greeting me, ask me if i can have a seat they and will get to me as soon as they can, About 2 min later, Max came out and greeted me and asked if i had been helped etc....He was amazing he took pictures of my vehicle and asked me that my vehicle was not road worthy due to my light was broken and my rim was bent. He contacted the insurance company on behalf of myself and spoke to a representative and he cleared everything up. He was very experienced for how young he looked. The repairs took 6 business and my vehicle looked brand new. they even washed my car (WOOW) . My car looked as new as the day i purchased it from the dealer. Great work, Great Team.
