I recently went to blush for a day of pampering and was so happy with the services that I received. From the moment I booked my appt I was treated with kindness and care. I called on a Wednesday requesting an appt for that friday for a 3 hr spa package. Not an easy appt to get last minute, but the receptionist made it happen! When I arrived on fri the masseuse was ready and there was no delay. She began with a deep tissue massage with arnica which was amazing. She kept the lights very low and soft spa music was playing. I felt that she was so intuitive to what my body needed. She used just the right amount if pressure to work through tight muscles but not too heavy that I was uncomfortable. After my 60 min massage she moved to my feet for 30 min of reflexology. I have never had reflexology before and it was heaven! I felt so relaxed. After the bodywork I was moved into the facial room and my esthetician greeted me so sweetly. She was very clear and knowledgable of all of the products and procedures and never once did I feel pressure to add on services or purchase items as I've experiences in other places in the past. She had a great light touch and was quick with extractions. Overall this was an amazing experience and I plan to return many times. The week before our wedding, we wanted to have a spa day. The idea I gave to the wedding party was to have an experience where we all could lounge in a hot tub, maybe drink wine, have spa treatments, and maybe a mud bath. I wanted to be surprised, so I told the wedding party to not tell me where we were going..... Boy, was I surprised alright. First off, this place doesn't really resemble much of a day spa. It's more like a salon that offers spa treatments. When you walk in there's a small front desk, a hairdressing station off to the corner, racks of different products for sale, and a big red couch for you to sit on. Since this was mainly a gift from the wedding party, I had no idea going in what these treatments cost, or what we were even in store for. However, I was later told by one of the girls in my wedding party that they had called and booked a "couples treatment." The problem with the "couples treatment," was that it wasn't something they even offered. They only have two or three separate, individual rooms for one person each. Honestly, that part didn't bother me too much, but it did strike me as odd. More on that later though... The wedding party dropped my husband-to-be, and I off, and it was just us for the spa treatment. I was told that I would be having the 75 minute La Vie En Rose body wrap, and my husband would be having the 90 minute relaxation massage. The La Vie En Rose was basically a mud wrap with a "healing, blissful massage," at the end. I was excited when I heard what it was going to be. I was asked if I had had a massage or spa treatment before, and I said "yes." I can only assume that the purpose of asking that question, was to see what level of communication she needed to have during this treatment. I should've probably said no, even though that wasn't true, because there was little to no communication during this treatment. Before I was painted in mud, my body was scrubbed with that felt like a very stiff bristled hair brush. This felt nothing like dry brushing I've had before, and actually felt completely unprofessional. Then she began painting on the mud, which was fine. Then I was wrapped in cellophane, also fine. During that period she started a foot massage, and I thought at the time "okay, this is nice." However, after realizing that she had spent a ridiculously long time on my right foot (it felt about 20 minutes), she followed up with the left foot, for an extremely short period of time (3 minutes). That basically set the tone for the rest of the treatment. Her spending most of the time on the right side of my body, and hardly any time on the left. After the foot massage I was told to go shower the mud off, and was led to a shower in the back. The shower was okay, but it wasn't completely enclosed as there was an area above the door where you could see back into the hallway. I'm not a prude, but something about the shower felt weird. I used their products, which were meh, to wash the mud off my body. Then I grabbed one of the scratchiest towels ever to dry off with. After that I slipped into a robe that was supplied there, and headed back to the massage room. From there she continued treating mostly the right side of my body, paying very little attention to the left side at all. She also applied very little pressure, so the massage didn't really do it for me much. I will admit, perhaps I should have said something in the moment. But this experience felt far from professional. Then, as I was laying face down on the table waiting for my back and legs to be worked out, and also waiting for the left side of my neck to be massaged, it was all over. She said we were done and left the room. I laid there for a moment in disbelief, and then stood up and got dressed again. As I left the room and was walking back to the front of this store, I passed her in the cramped hallway, and the next thing that she said to me put the perfect cherry on top of this awful experience. She said "Your friend will be done shortly." Yeah, she referred to my husband as my "friend," despite the fact that they knew full well when this was booked that is was for a couple. That made me so furious that I stormed out. I could no longer stay in this awful establishment. I left, I walked down the block, I texted my husband to come find me when his was over. Gazing at the time on my phone, I realized that what was supposed to be a 75 minute treatment, only turned out to be maybe 45 minutes, including the shower time. My husband got the full 90 minute treatment that was paid for. When he was done, he came out and found me and we walked around a little. We discussed our treatments, and his was nowhere near as awful as mine was, but it also wasn't good either. The bottom line: This is not a luxurious, relaxing day spa that offers any resemblance of professionalism. If I had personally paid for this, I would have asked for my money back because the experience was truly awful. read more

As a Sonoman, I've been to Blush several times, and never have been disappointed. Dolores gives the best and painless eyebrow waxes. I have had several massages, facials, manis and pedis there too. In fact, I have purchased several massages for my husband as well. I've never had any of the problems that have been mentioned here, and I was quite surprised by them. They always return my calls, and have fit me into their schedules for a quick wax. To sum it all up, as a long time customer, I've always been impressed with the services that I have received there. read more

Wow! A friend and I used a Groupon here yesterday, and we are hooked. This is a small, intimate spa, so don't expect "foo foo," but do expect excellent service and a relaxing atmosphere. 1-hour intense massage with Leslie was amazing, and she has a great aura about her in working with her clients. Positive and uplifting, which I just happened to need after a few challenging weeks at work/home. The owner Delores does a mean (but painless) eyebrow wax and the facial was also done well and there wasn't a big "product push" at the end (which we all hate about larger salons). She did make product suggestions, but I didn't feel like I was being sold to. My skin a day later looks and feels refreshed and not broken out or red. And now I'm more likely to go back and buy a product there as well. Note: If you are looking for the big salon/spa experience, this isn't the place for you, which is why some other reviews may be negative. Blush is clean, quiet and intimate - more for 1-3 patrons at a time, not large groups of chatty bachelorettes, etc. Enjoy your zen moment. read more

The owner was beyond gracious and knowledgeable about product information and techniques. I honestly had a great day, just to have it end in disappointment. We had a bridal party go to this salon and when we got back to the house we received a call that something was wrong with their books and we needed to pay an 18% tip not a 16% tip, we however were not informed of this. The owner continued to tell us that she could and would charge the card that was used that day. The service was great and now I'm am just so disappointed in the end of a great day. Now we have to contact all bridal shower participants and tell them to check to see if their card was charged extra. We offered to come pay but she informed us that she was going to charge a card and we needed to pick someone. I would give zero stars if I could. read more

I'm giving Blush a 3-star solely for the courtesy and quality of the massage I received from Leslie. That would be a 5-star, all the way! Leslie was engaging, funny, and gave me the full 90-minute massage I paid for. I give a 1-star to Dolores, the owner of Blush. There was a huge snafu with the booking of my appointment (to be concurrent with my friend's services - we each booked two), and Dolores immediately blamed the miscommunication on my friend (error #1 - ALWAYS look into it before blaming...especially the customer). My friend NEVER would've booked the services back to back - and she was specifically told WE were to be there by 1:30. Embarrassingly, I got so frustrated with how she was handling the situation I started to cry (think eye-leakage, not sobbing). Ridiculous, which only made it worse. The ONLY reason I ended up taking the massage was I would have to pay a 50% cancellation fee - really, all I wanted to do was leave that place. Dolores *graciously* waived the fee for the 2nd treatment that I didn't receive. While waiting for my friend (before I realized my appointment didn't start for 1.5 HOURS), the place was bustling with activity. They clearly have a loyal following with the local clientele. However, the customer service we received was less-than-stellar, and that's being generous. read more

I don't like to dish, but I've been here twice, and wasn't really impressed with the customer service or the vibe of the place. I've only had massage here, so I can't comment on the facials. What I can say is that this place is too noisy and small for massage therapy. Each time the massage room felt cramped. The masseuse was amazing, which was cause for my second (and last) visit. Customer service is not that great. It was hard setting up both appointments (getting a return phone call). The second time I went, the front desk was unmanned from check in to checkout, so the massage therapist unknowingly had to process my entire visit, which was unexpected for both of us. Whenever I walk or drive by this place, the one and only thought that replays over and over in my mind is this: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." read more

This place is a gem! I booked a Body combo treatment with Jean and it was 2 glorious hours of complete bliss. The spa has a small but ample parking lot so an appointment on a Friday with good weather in the forecast was not a deterrent. Blush is a very peaceful place close to the Plaza. I recently decided to treat myself to my first spa experience, and I researched day spas all over Sonoma county. I decided to choose Blush due to their variety of treatments. I had the Herbal Detox body wrap (which really works!) and a Healing Arnica massage. I was in HEAVEN. The massage therapist (who did both treatments) was very knowledgeable about the body wrap and well-versed in deep tissue. All my knots were gone! And....I was able to fit into a "stubborn" pair of jeans! I highly recommend Blush and will be returning again soon. read more

I just found myself on Yelp when looking for the link to 'Blush a Day' website in order to book a few appointments for my 1 year wedding anniversary that's coming up and felt the urge to write a comment (or seven) ;) I cannot explain how amazing this quaint little day spa (in the heart of Sonoma) is. I've lived in NYC for over 11 years and have still not encountered a day spa that measures up to Blush a Day- no exaggerations. I had a few treatments done while I was there... the two most amazing were a Complexion perfection facial w/MAX7 light therapy with foot reflexology and my makeup for my wedding (which I booked after my facial and massage because it was so great). Honestly, I have never really believed in foot reflexology (as I've had it done so many times before and never felt anything). I didn't tell anyone at the salon I was getting married when I booked my appointments. I did not have brides maids and hate being the center of attention, so I felt like not telling them would make things more relaxing... But when Dolores started the reflexology on my feet, she noticed that I had a lot of tension and nervousness in my stomach/chest. As soon as she started to work her magic, I felt a warm heat rise up to my stomach and chest and was able to relax immediately. It was amazing! Since I had a destination wedding and 135 guests, I felt more than in over my head. This definitely helped relieve my anxiety and I cannot wait to return for more treatments! Also, I was a little worried about breaking out or having redness after the facial. However, Dolores promised me the light therapy would take care of anything of that nature- and she was right. My skin glowed and looked so clear and perfect in all of my pictures. She also did my make-up and did exactly what I wanted without me really giving any direction. I got so many compliments and felt great on my wedding day and wish I lived in Sonoma so I could go on a weekly basis :) They treated me so well and it was so comfortable that I can't imagine going anywhere else, including some of the best spas (and way more expensive hotel spas in the area). A friend and I got a groupon deal for a 90 minute massage and90 minute facial with the LED light therapy with a cheese and wine pairing in between. We were welcomed very warmly and enthusiastically by both the facial specialist, Elena, and the massage therapist. Both of us were very happy with our facials and our massages, and both women knew what they were doing and made our experience a positive and relaxing one. We both bought a product from the range of organic and natural product lines in the spa, and the Elena knew a lot about the lines and uses products herself to be able to tell customers about them. If you get the groupon and have two 90 minute sessions with time in between, I would definitely bring food, especially with the wine and cheese pairing. We loved the wine and had a couple of small glasses each, but we should have eaten a little more before getting back on the table. It is a small spa, as others have mentioned in their reviews, so yes, you do hear the people in the next room talking. We were there on a Sunday so the other businesses weren't open, so we probably had it better than other days of the week. I had a very positive and relaxing experience here and would definitely come again, especially if there is some kind of deal! read more
