I had an amazing very short haircut with Maddy. She is so, so good! I'm 65 and have had short, short cuts most of my life. The moment she started trimming I absolutely knew she was an expert at my kind of hair and I can rarely say that when in a new~to~me stylist's chair. She looked at my already short cut, we talked briefly and she knew exactly what to do. This salon has a really terrific vibe. One society is truly the place to go if you are looking for an amazing experience and hair! The second you walk into the salon you are greeted by one of the amazing receptionists with nothing but a smile and exciting voice. Every phone call they answer when I call it is a true joy to talk to Bridgette or any of the other fantastic receptionists. Unfortunately, my hair was dyed ash, the color I asked it not to be. I was told, "We can do it lighter next time." I specifically asked for a blonde specialist and was shown blonde in the photos. I had to repay to go elsewhere for a hair color correction. Although, they were inititally very nice and accommodating and got me in the same week. The chairs are back breaking uncomfortable, too. I want to start off by saying thank you so much to the receptionist, manager of the salon, my wonderful stylist Rachel, and all the other stylist that helped and were so kind as well. I came In directly after another appointment at another salon. I originally was going to just pick up dinner then I saw, "One Society" I wanted to ask, "how long till I can fix my hair?" "Is the story about in 2 days I'll see my color true" never heard that from a hair stylist after getting my hair done blonde for 8 years. When I came from the other salon my hair was a mushroom brown-gray, purple, reddish in spots, and orangey. I went to that other appointment blonde with my roots starting to come out more. I asked for natural blonde highlights and balayage mix which I always got from my previous stylist in SD. I left the other salon disappointed and upset. One Society helped me get that crazy toner out, corrected as much as they could without damaging the integrity of my hair, had the best customer service. Just hands down a great experience. Without having that bad experience at the other salon I would've never walked into One Society. I will now on only go to One Society. I trust them and I loved my stylist Rachel she helped so much and was so sympathetic. I got to leave blonde not purple and mushroom brown gray. My hair wasn't frizzy it looked so much healthier. It's hard finding a good stylist when you move somewhere else but you are in good hands at One Society. I got a facial here. The lady was super nice and informative. Facial in itself was okay, just pretty basic. I added dermaplaning (which is honestly something i can do at home but i wanted it done by someone). The total was $195 (not including my $40 tip) which to me is INSANE. definitely not worth the price i paid. Will not be returning for a facial or probably anything else. read more

Abhorrent treatment. I came in for a touch up on baby lites and a tone. I had a consultation for the color with Abbey and was quoted $170ish-$190. I added a treatment for an additional $25, and was quoted up to $215 including blow dry. Color came out fine, the colorist took pictures for her portfolio, I tipped her in cash immediately and went to the desk and was told the bill was $285. I was extremely confused and asked many times to speak to Abbey about the confusion but she refused to speak or even look at me. I was told she would have quoted me this amount, which did not happen. I would never have agreed to pay that amount. I have had my color done a lot and never had this happen in any salon--I always pay a similar amount to the range I was quoted and consented to. That day I was assured the charge would be put on hold until the manager called me, but this was not true and my card was charged immediately for the full amount. When I called back and tried to get ahold of the manager, who just said that all her colorists should be explaining charges thoroughly, which did NOT happen. I was charged the full $285 plus the cash tip I gave before that and I have not been refunded anything. This is also about $50-100 more than I have paid for similar services, even at high end salons. Just so disappointing to be treated like this, and to not even have the colorist be willing to speak to me about what happened. read more

I hate writing bad reviews. But I'm really disappointed in my hair. The staff at the salon were very kind and accommodating. My stylist however came and left me multiple times during my service. I was at the salon for over four hours. I really wanted to love my hair but unfortunately it turned out less than average. My hair turned out orange in some sections. I'm an listener of the mojo and the morning show and always love how pretty Shannon's hair is but unfortunately my results were a lot different than hers. I came in as a new client for a balayage refresh. I found the hairstylist at One Society Salon via instagram. She always posted about balayage work & was recommended for that service. Overall, the hairstylist was not friendly & made several comments that rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe I'm not used to that kind of personality or she was having an off day. When I arrived, we had a quick 5 min consult in her chair. I wanted to cut off a lot of length & have a blonder balayage with a blended root for low maintenance & an easy grow out. For length I said it was important that I can still put my hair up in a ponytail. She looked at me blankly &said "any length of hair can be put up. And no one even wears ponytails anymore. You have nothing to worry about." And then she was done with that topic. I just wanted my hair to be long enough to reach the ponytail or bun without short pieces falling out. I guess she didn't get that. I pulled up pics from Pinterest to explain the color tone/placement/cut so she would have an idea of what I wanted. Seemed like she didn't care at all. She said she wasn't going to do as many foils on me since I don't come in every 3 months. Um okay... She chopped my hair very bluntly to get the extra length off before starting the color. She said she would cut the style later. & we never discussed the cut later. I should have spoken up about this. For the color, she sectioned my hair in half horizontally across the back and never touched that bottom section. She put ~20 foils through the top. After the foils came out, she painted the root color along my hairline where I part my hair. Nowhere else. During the color service, she did nothing that resembled what I have seen/read about balayage color services. But I wanted to trust her. She asked if it was okay to cut some shorter pieces around my face. I'm thinking face frame but she took that as "side bangs" & they were chopped before I realized what was happening. As someone that just spent 5 years growing out bangs, this killed me. Every time I said something she had a blunt response. I was so confused how to talk to her. I felt like nothing I said was going to make her happy. She asked if she could curl my hair & I said sure. She asked if I had any questions about how to curl my hair. I said no. I am pretty good at styling my own hair & really like what I can do with mine. She gave me tips and advice anyway. She started to complain about how most girls are doing it wrong & it annoys her. She asked if I curl my hair the correct way like she does. I was so done at this point so I said "I don't know". She said that if I don't notice my technique, I must be doing it wrong. & now that she has pointed it out to me, I will be able to curl my hair correctly. I couldn't wait to leave. I paid $205 for the cut and color. This was $20 off the regular cost. She reminded me to come back in 3 months to get the color touched up. When I got home I took a closer look at my hair. It was shocking. A blunt PANEL of blonde at the front section. There was no blending here. I couldn't understand. & my roots looked like grown out highlights that needed to be touched up. I sorted through the rest of my hair I found several more blunt highlight sections like this. & all the hair underneath was dark too since she didn't even touch that. I was embarrassed that I paid $205 for my hair to look like this. I've never paid so much. This was not balayage. I texted the hairstylist that night & asked if she could blend the roots more. She was very nice about it. I said I was free tomorrow, she suggested we wait a week because I might like it by then. So I waited a week. She was friendlier at the 2nd appt & agreed the color at the roots was not right and apologized. I pointed out the large panel of blonde in the front & she basically said that she did the technique correctly and that's just the way my hair naturally falls. So she did not change that. I did not have to pay anything for the fix. I will not be returning to this salon. The crazy thing is that the "after" picture she posted on her Instagram looks totally fine. The pictures that I took myself at home look completely different. A few months later I went to Michelle at Salon B in Plymouth, MI for a color correction. This was a better experience in every aspect. Prior to my appointment, I sent a few pics of my current hair & we texted about what kind of color and look I wanted. This is how it should always be! I like that she wanted to plan ahead for the appointment. When I arrived, I showed her the pictures of my hair after the previous salon & she couldn't believe it. As she was doing my color, she said that whatever the previous stylist did made no sense to her. She couldn't understand the color placement or haircut. Michelle was so sweet and friendly! She did a great job & I was finally happy with my hair! read more

This week I decided I needed to try a different salon because I wasn't happy with the results I was getting from another salon in the area. I did some research and came across one society. From the moment I called in and booked my appointment with Bridgette I had a great experience. She got me in rather quickly and booked me with Stephanie. Stephanie did a blond balayage on my hair and did a blow out. She took her time and listened to what my hair goals were and made it happen. I would highly recommend Stephanie and one society salon. FYI: bring cash to tip because they don't allow you to on your card! They serve wine during your service too which was lovely! read more

Absolutely amazing quality hair color, blow outs & style from Nina. I could never find a stylist to give me an ashy blonde but natural looking color. I was attended to promptly as was offered wine and water. My stylist was Tracy and she was very attentive and caring. She did a great job on taking care of my roots and totally freshening up my cut. It had grown out and like an artist she gave it meticulous care. I felt so glamorous after she finished styling and was great with making product recommendations. I planned on stopping by this evening after work to buy a giftcard for a friend. Their google and yelp pages advertise that they close at 9pm Tuesday-Thursday. I arrived at 8:25pm to find that all of the lights were on in the salon, but the front door had been locked 35 minutes before the salon was to be closed. This makes it appear like they have no interest in my business and have minimal regard for upholding their advertised hours. I'm really disappointed that I made the drive out there. read more

I just visited this salon for a COVID pampering session. I am over the moon! My stylist, Amanda M, was the best. I was loooong overdue for a cut, color and highlights. I scheduled a consultation into my visit and then Amanda got to work on my transformation. She does AMAZING work and was so attentive. I feel like a new woman! I truly appreciate all the time she invested in my visit. I never felt rushed and Amanda was completely focused on me the entire time. She was great offering styling tips for when I get home, too.
