The tables are always sticky and the place just has gone so down hill, it's very disappointing as I love supporting local businesses. The thing about the World Beer Tour and the Hall of Foam is that Old Chicago, a chain based out of Denver, has been doing things suspiciously close to this for nearly thirty years. On the one hand, it's a good idea, and I'm glad to see it's something that B Merrell's has embraced, but come on, the 'influence' is blatant. World Beer Tour? Hall of Foam? Sure, maybe those phrases are pretty obvious no matter who you are, and maybe B Merrell's makes you drink a little more to complete your tour, but still, the comparison is stark. The food's a different story, and though the place was designed around rotisserie chicken, rotisserie chicken is kinda lame, so their wings have become the main draw. The hottest of the normal flavor was about average for a traditional Buffalo hot sauce, so the sweat wasn't exactly trickling, but the wings were nicely crispy, and light enough to plow through a dozen with room for sides. Sides, like the three vegetable dealy which may or may not include collard greens, vegetable casserole, and spinach maria. I've never heard of spinach maria, though it appears to be a regional dish of about a 50/50 blend of spinach and cheese - not entirely sure if I can count it in the vegetable column with that much cheese, and it's probably not something I'd order again. Nothing wrong with the greens. The vegetable casserole was a nice custard-based suspension of squash and zucchini that I thought really gave it a nice down-home feel. Again, it wasn't what I was really looking for when I think 'vegetable', but I liked it. And, darn it, Old Chicago rip-off or not, this is a popular concept that deserved to be copied, and if it's as well pulled-off and as well beholden as B Merrell, I guess it's not so bad. read more

Decided to try lunch here based on good yelp reviews and recommendation from front desk at hotel. I had the B. Merrill's Burger. Absolutely one of the best burgers ever!! I'm not usually a fan of toppings on a burger (burger, bun and cheese and I'm good to go) but this is the perfect combination of bbq and bacon. So glad I got out of my comfort zone. The steak fries that came with it were deep fried perfectly, just crispy enough but still soft in the middle. When first trying to decide what to order, I was torn between the burger and the rotisserie chicken. I ended up ordering the chicken as well "to go" and had it for dinner. Super tender, flavorful and moist, even after several hours in the fridge. The rub on the chicken was spicy, but not overwhelming. My sides were fantastic. Cucumber & onion salad had a very unique dressing with a hint of teriyaki and the Mac & cheese was very creamy. As great as the food was, the friendliness of the staff was what brought it all together...from the hostess (sorry I have forgotten her name) to my server Carson to Bree, one of the managers on duty. I mentioned it was my first time there and the hostess sent Bree over in case I had any questions. She spent several minutes talking with me and it was quite refreshing to see her take such an interest in a customers opinion. My server, Carson, was knowledgeable about the menu, genuinely nice, attentive (but not overly so). Overall, a wonderful dining experience!! As always, I was not disappointed with my experience here. Saturday night dinner with my family, a 15 to 30 minute wait was quoted and we were seated sooner than expected. I love the French onion soup so I got a cup portions worth and split a double portion of hot wings (20 wings) in medium sauce with the table (3 people). We sat, ate, talked, and enjoyed our experience here for over 2 hours. Bottom line, the wings are amazing and the service is great. Definitely worth a visit! read more

Came here today because it was close to the office and I wanted wings. I have been here in the past and the wigs were good. Then. So I was greeted at the door and immediatly seated. My waitress was ok but not very attentive. The biggest issue was I waited 38 minutes for 10 wings and a small plate of fries. I watched other patrons come in after me and get thier meals way before I did not maybe it's faster to make country fried steak or whatever. I will say that they were hot and had plenty of meat on them. I ordered mild which apparently means plain with absolutely no seasoning here. No flavor what so ever. I know thier flavored wings are pretty good but mild doesn't mean no seasoning. The sweet tea was mildly tea flavored water. So all in all I paid $18 with a $5 tip for tastless wings and tea that I waited 38 minutes for. If you have an hour lunch break don't order anything complicated. I said I'm sorry I needed the order to go. She brought me a two styrofoam containers and walked away. Scooped the salad and wings into the containers with my hands and asked for a bag. The signature burger looked like a McDonald's burger. It was very sad that shredded cheese and bacon bits had to be used. It was very little to be called a signature burger. The French Onion Soup was actually very good, and the salad I got was decent as well (once I got another dressing on I wanted instead of the weird cheese dressing that came standard). Nothing really blew me away and the "wings" were these little dinky things, I was forced to ponder how tiny the chickens they came from were. This is not to say it is bad, but at the same time it is not really super impressive either. Everything that was ordered was DELICIOUS! I had their onion soup and a side of steak fries, my hubby had wings (half BBQ and half Caribbean) and our friend had a chicken wrap. For starters, the friendly service from the get go was super, the waitress came right away with waters after we sat down and had a smile all the way. My soup was the real deal with everything that it's supposed to have (I've had them before where they either forget to put the bread or the cheese or it's too greasy). Awesome beer selection and truly great ice/sweet tea. Basically a combo fern/sports bar, minus the ferns. The service is typically bad. The chairs are most uncomfortable - by design. They want their tables to turnover as quickly as possible. The food, however, is really delicious bar food, with the signature rotisserie chicken being very, very good. Their wings are also excellent. The burgers are flame-broiled and delicious. If you are trying to eat healthy, you can not do better in Columbus than their rotisserie chicken on salad.
