I looked at where he was and saw that he was driving by Gilroy so told him to pull off the highway and stop here. They were apparently so kind. Told him one of the latches for the hood had got jammed and in a few minutes, fixed it and had him on his way. He tried to pay and they told him not to worry about it. Brought my 2013 Lexus GS 350 in for a coolant leak and paid about $180 in diagnostic fees. They…read moretold me I needed a full radiator, thermostat, and hoses replaced -- quoted around $1,800. Their own paperwork admitted the cooling system only lost 1 psi in 15 minutes and that they couldn't actually find a leak. I got a second opinion at a dealership. The real problem was just the radiator cap -- the worn cap couldn't hold pressure, so the coolant was boiling over and escaping. About $100 to replace, and the car has run perfectly ever since. The cap was even listed on their own quote (a $26 part), but instead of trying the cheap fix first, they pushed a $1,500 radiator job. Either they couldn't diagnose a basic cooling issue or they were counting on me not getting a second opinion. Get your quote checked elsewhere before paying these guys.

Mike worked with me to keep the cost down, knowing that the car isn't worth much...they fixed the most of the main issues and got it to pass smog!!! Mike directly told me his genuine concern regarding my car being safe enough for me to drive. Unlike dishonest repair shop owners who take advantage of the elderly & women (I happen to be both) who don't know much about cars, what's really needed and what the repairs should cost, 'Country Automotive' has been extremely honest with me from day 1 about my car's needs & ONLY did what needed to be done ... they told me no lies for trying to get me to spend more money on things that I did not need to have serviced or replaced. They explained everything to me in a way that was very easy for me to understand and were very patient with me in SO many ways. I am very, very pleased with their quality of service & professionalism... ... and the kind condolences that Mike showed me last month when I told him that my brother who lived across the country, had just passed away. Don and Tuan are very honest, knowledgeable and have super reasonable prices and wait times. I have referred many people to them, and no one has been disappointed. I recently took my brand new Mercedes to them for an oil change because the dealer wanted to charge $350 for a basic oil change. Don charged less than half of that! I trust them with all my cars. They are a very small two man shop but they get things done quickly without compromising quality. I don't know what I'd do if they decide to retire and close up shop! Let me add...Cintas trusts them with their entire fleet of trucks! Every time I come in, there are Cintas trucks getting serviced.
