I've long searched for a go-to mechanic in Morgan Hill and my search is over. This is my go-to auto shop. They are great at giving you details and pictures of your car and parts they reference. They let you review their recommendations and you decide what you would ultimately like fixed on your car through a website. It offers you a chance to look through the tasks without pressure or intimidation. Their work is great and they even offer loaner cars or rides back home. Did a thorough diagnostic on my ford 150. They batted 100%. Wrong on every area. When I took their paperwork to the Ford dealer the service manager and garage foreman could not believe how incorrect they were. They wanted to charge me mega thousands for work that did not need repair or maintenance. Had wife take her auto in for oil change service and they told her she needed hundreds of dollars additional which she had done and paid for. This was years ago. They have not changed. The worst in Morgan Hill. People were nice just inept or crooks. Watch out!! read more

This visit was to repair a blown spark plug that broke the intake manifold and coil. Radiator hoses and the thermostat showed significant wear. All these parts were repaired or replaced. As a result the 22 year old Ford was returned to reliable performance at a reasonable price. Thank you. read more

We brought our ranger rover in about 6 monts ago. It was not running when we brought it in due to over heating. We were told they work our range rovers all the time and the quote was over 5k. We paid. That being said, we got a quote for the work along with our brakes, rotors and some minor stuff! Of course, that work was done first but when we got a call back, we were told they took it for a test drive, mileage didn't reflect a morgan hill to Gilroy drive but heyyy Im not the mechanic...After that Gilroy test drive they stated the car started acting up when they pulled into their shop driveway... We were told were going to need another $4500 for them to rebuild a piece they were going to need to send out. So when I came into the shop around lunch time. I got a "what would you like me to do attitude" with no consideration of how hard it is for people like us to trust and use our hard-earned money in places like this.. So I took the range rover and the paperwork they provided along with the work they said they needed done to another establishment. I was told they should have a machine to test the car that would of told them it was bad before they drove it to see what was going so no more damage was caused to the vehicle.Right or wrong, We payed half of what they asked and its running perfect. I recommend if you do come here make sure you ONLY pay for what is needed because they will be glad to take the rest and leave you with a experience like mine. read more

I've lived in Morgan Hill for about 10 years now and had been going to Precision Auto pretty much this whole time. Unfortunately a few years ago things changed there and the quality just isn't the same. So I've been looking for a new mechanic. I got an ad in the mail for C & M and decided to give them a shot. Decided to try something simple like an oil change. Made an appointment for a Saturday and dropped the car off. Picked it up a few hours later after receiving a text with a very comprehensive inspection report. Very cool. They checked pretty much everything. I even asked them to do a couple of extra things like install a Fumoto oil drain valve and to unplug a sensor for the wiper fluid bottle. Honestly I don't even understand why Infiniti has this as a feature. Such a trivial thing to monitor. Just another thing to break and an annoying light on the dash. Nut they took care of it for me. So they did all these things for me and didn't charge extra. I will certainly be bringing my car back for the next service I need. One thing I will say is that I don't really get the "warm and fuzzies" from the guys at the front desk. They're not unfriendly, just not what I would call warm. Kinda hard to explain. Just a feeling. But they certainly seem to do good work here and are thorough. read more

Called and scheduled an appointment to get one on my vehicles aligned. Wasn't told a price on the phone then brought it in this morning and the guy inside working didn't greet me nor was he ready to go for the day and then tried to charge me $320 Taking it to wheel works where I get a lift time alignment for $200 and not ripped for for a 1 time alignment that only comes with a 1 year warranty. Morgan Hill is a small town, can't sit here and burn the residents. Won't be back this is my second bad experience here at C&M. read more

BAR Cited This Shop - Be Cautious with Diesel Repairs, especially Cummins motors.... I brought my 2019 Ram 2500 Cummins diesel to this shop in June 2025 for a fuel filter housing issue - a problem I had already explained up front. Despite that, I was charged nearly 200 for an inspection I did not need. I was also charged 100 for an air filter I had already replaced weeks earlier at another shop - with a receipt to prove it. The total came to $1,622.00, and the "Performance Service" message was still on when I received my truck back. I retuned and was told to "drive around and it might turn off." Later, they told me they couldn't "ethically" reset it because the oil change had been done elsewhere. This makes NO SENSE - they hand already inspected the vehicle and should have handled it properly, since I did pay 200 for a full inspection. The person I worked with in the office has no experience as a Technician, and the Technicians are not Cummins-certified. Based on how this repair was handled, its clear they lacked the right tools and training for my engine. I also discovered a $43 credit card processing fee that was never disclosed before payment - something California Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) later confirmed it was not right. I submitted my case to BAR, provided all receipts, and spoke directly with an investigator. As a result the shop was cited for violations. Despite that, the business made a public denial that any citation occurred - which directly contradicts what I was told by BAR investigator over the phone. I stayed at the shop for hours because I was told it would be all day - similar complaints other reviews have shared. I'm not writing this out of anger. I documented everything reported it through the proper state channels, and waited patiently for the outcome. I will not be returning, and I do not recommend this shop for Cummins diesel service. Responding to C&M owners response: I'm standing by my experience and what I was told directly by the BAR investigator assigned to my case -- that your shop was cited for violations. Anyone is welcomes to contact BAR to confirm. I did call the dealership to compare pricing, but that doesn't justify a markup on a part you already had in stock (which I was told cost you $816, by your service advisor). You charged me $916 -- and then added a $200 diagnostic fee for a problem I had already clearly identified. Any supposed "savings" were completely canceled out by markups and unnecessary charges. Your claim that I returned later with an "unrelated issue" is simply not true. I did not leave your parking lot, I returned from your parking lot after my keys were handed to me and the same "Perform Service" message was still on after a $1,600 repair and full inspection. That's not a separate concern -- it's a continuation of the same issue I paid you to fix. I was told to "drive around and hope it turns off," and later told you couldn't "ethically" reset it because I had an oil change done elsewhere. That explanation doesn't hold up, especially since you charged me for a complete diagnostic and inspection. I was also charged a $43 credit card processing fee that was never disclosed prior to payment -- something that BAR confirmed is not acceptable. This issue continues to go unacknowledged in your replies. Your response here follows a pattern I've seen in other critical reviews -- scripted, dismissive, and lacking accountability, with repeated talking points instead of meaningful engagement and solution. I've documented everything with BAR and shared my experience so others can make an informed decision. I'm not interested in going back and forth. I will not be returning to your shop. After speaking with Micah about the invoice it was further determined that the diagnostic fee was the actual fee for 197.00. Micah requested I bring the car back in to be checked out to see what was causing the main battery to discharge or whether the auxiliary battery was discharging. It was determined it may have a bad cell. AAA checked the main battery and said it was still good. AAA will replace it within 6 months if it goes bad. read more

In mid November I called C & M Auto Service to do some work on my 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis. I originally called them because they were recommended by my AAA auto service as an approved auto service in my area. I was not disappointed. I made an appointment and was promptly received when I arrived. I knew I needed brake work and possibly a tune up. I met with Mike and he set up a complete safety inspection for my car for that day. I left the car and was offered a free ride home. Within a few hours I received a complete written report from Mike via email showing a complete estimate for the brake work and tune up and to repair a leaking differential that they had discuovered. I also received a few heads up items that would need attention in the near future and the cost. I OK'd the repairs and my car was ready to be picked up later that day. I took the car back the next day for some of the additional work to be done and it also was completed within a few hours. All work was done on time and well within the estimate. Brought a 2011 Mercedes c300 in for a check engine issue. We received the quote for the diagnostics which was approved and then received the quote to what needed to be done. They were kind enough to point out other issues that the car had but we only agreed to proceed with what needed to be done for the check engine light issue. Once it was completed, it came with a warranty and the check engine light was gone...for a day. Brought it back and now was told that it's a different issue and would cost around 2k to fix. The issue here is, why was this not mention in the first diagnostic and what was the point of paying for the first service if it fixed nothing? I appreciate the being provided in a timely manner and the descriptions of the services but disappointed that the actual issue wasn't caught in the first diagnostic. read more

Was looking for a good reliable shop to service the transmission on my Honda Civic. There's plenty of folks that always shop for the cheapest deal, the issue is you get what you pay for. First off C&M has one of the cleanest reception/service writing areas I have ever seen for a non-dealer shop. They work on almost all makes, including diesels. I came in without an appointment just to inquire on the cost etc. I was very impressed with a friendly staff and fair price, I decided to leave my car and was offered a shuttle ride home. My car was done early and I made arrangements to pick it up on a Saturday. Top-notch, customer service, and what a huge difference getting the fluid and filters changed in the transmission. The A/C repair was brought back a couple of times and unfortunately the system didn't make it 30 days cooling properly. The majority of the entire system was replaced on the Honda Civic. C & M was contacted by phone message describing the situation very reluctantly because of some frustration and the fact they usually keep the vehicle for a couple days. The phone messages where not ever returned. You know, I've gone back and forth with this business, from disappointment, to a bit of a struggle to I thought get it fixed right and the runaround with insurance warranty claims. I changed my review after C & M at least tried and those warranty issues take time. But honestly, the theme I see with this business is they might be just to busy for quality assurances in work for certain customers. In this case, this customer is a hard working woman with 2 kids that ended up basically not having A/C in 105 degree weather all summer because she really didn't want to go back to your business. So I was the one who recommend you, so I'd ask you to make this right, your best technicians, your best attention to detail, your best customer service. Do you know that after you rebuild that system for over $3000 your tech forgot to charge the system and she again had to bring it back? It's stuff like this I shake my head, but I'd appreciate it if you'd return her calls or better yet reach out to her with some concern and care.
