I've been coming to this BMW service location for a little over 4 years and my representative is Jake. I always make an appointment or check in with Jake before coming. He is always willing to help and make sure that I get the best service with care and expertise. You do need to make appointments because this location does get pretty busy. But the appointment center will work with you if you need to get in sooner than later. The waiting area is nice and I don't mind waiting for long periods of time because there's Wi-Fi, snacks, water and coffee drinks. I had a very disappointing experience at this BMW dealership and would not recommend their service department. When I brought my car in, I asked the service associate a simple question about how to reset an alert on my dashboard. He refused to show me, saying that since BMW didn't perform the repair, he couldn't help reset it. This felt unhelpful and dismissive, especially for something that should be basic customer support. More concerning, I was quoted $8,500 in repairs. Wanting to be responsible, I sought second opinions from three independent mechanics, all of whom told me that the majority of the recommended work was unnecessary. That level of discrepancy seriously undermines my trust in this dealership. Overall, the experience felt more focused on upselling than genuinely helping the customer. Salesperson was nice on the test drive, although he did use the tired and demonstrably untrue "The car is available right now, but there are currently 40 people on the lot so it could be gone when you get here" line. Sales manager came across as untrustworthy and slick. I had some reservations about the car and said I genuinely needed to think about it. Things really took a turn when I left the lot and I was psycho called and texted on repeat by the salesperson for 2 days straight. After one text/call too many, I decided no way would I buy a car from BMW of Austin, gave a polite "No" on text, then blocked him. Ended up going to MB of Austin and bought a car there, from a pressure-free and professional salesperson who made the experience feel upscale and honest. BMW of Austin is a hard NO for me. read more

While I give the BMW app 1 star, I give the service department at BMW 5 stars! My app keeps sending me in to see them when I don't actually need to be there. BMW of Austin adds 1% to your interest rate! Initial price negotiations with Trent J. were smooth and initially gave me confidence in the transaction. He was reasonable to work with and we agreed on purchase price. I have excellent credit and was aware of a manufacturer promotional rate of 1.99%. However, I was presented with a 2.99% rate and given explanations (i.e.) lies like: - BMW Austin does not pay to participate in that promotion - This is the best rate we can offer for your credit A finance manager (Mr. Xavier) did also try some lame tactics. Only after I specifically requested a compensation disclosure did he acknowledge: Buy rate = 1.99% BMW Austin contract = 2.99% They pocket the 1% as profit. For a $50,000 loan the markup would be around $1,400. BMW actually allows dealerships to keep 1% dealer reserve but many 'good' dealerships do not use this practice due to lack of transparency. I also wrote directly to the dealership's general manager and sales manager using the contact information they publicly provide for customer concerns - no response from either. Hoping this awareness will prepare current and future customers to ask the following direct questions: (1) Do you have a dealer reserve/hold? (2) What is the buy rate for the loan? Paid for an extended warranty at a different dealership, they conveniently weren't able to find it here. Fine. Had a blowout, tire was replaced, sensor still showing low. I was quoted $250 to even diagnose the problem, and $375 to replace it. Had to get ugly before they admitted it could likely simply be reset. Neat. Upon retrieving the vehicle I was told the techs attempted to reset the sensor, but it was still showing the same error code, so I was advised to complete the repair or return to the company that replaced the tire. I personally dug through the menus, and found the reset button within roughly 30 seconds. Reset it myself, lo and behold, works perfectly. Turned the vehicle on and off several times, drove many miles, still working just fine. So either the "advisor" was woefully mistaken, or he gave me incorrect information in hopes of inciting me to engage in an unnecessary repair. Neither scenario is acceptable. read more

We drove over 2 hours to BMW of Austin for a pre-approved purchase with a trade-in. We called ahead, told them exactly when we'd be arriving, and even kept them updated via text with our ETA. Still, when we got there, we waited over an hour before being helped. Jon Farley knew from the start that we had a pre-approval letter from our bank and was fine with it--until nearly two hours later, when he returned saying their finance manager wouldn't accept it. He then added, "No place gives you something without the real deal," which made us feel as though they questioned the legitimacy of our letter--despite our bank being on the phone to confirm everything. We've used this same process to purchase multiple vehicles, including high-end cars for both ourselves and our children, without any issues. When we asked to speak to a manager to discuss alternatives, Jon came back visibly irritated and stated that neither he, his boss, nor the finance manager would lose their job over one car sale. His attitude went from polite to combative, which made the experience unnecessarily tense. After stepping outside to talk, we returned minutes later to find the lights off--an obvious sign they were done with us for the day. As military veterans, this kind of treatment was both disappointing and unacceptable. We came ready to buy, but walked away due to the lack of trust, poor communication, and unprofessionalism. Please remind your service technicians to wipe their oily hands before touching the inside of cars. I have had the white leather stained twice. Service department is IMPOSSIBLE to call directly!! We had an emergency situation where we needed to get a hold of them and their number routes to Phoenix. So unhelpful. I had new tires installed and they didn't balance them. I left on a road trip the next day and got to Temple TX and had to drop into the BMW dealership there for them to balance my tires. They said the Austin location failed to balance them!!! The BMW roadside assistance rep was no help saying he couldn't reach them and there was nothing he could do but wait. The tow driver didn't answer his phone but reported to BMW that he arrived. He had not. After 2 hours, the tow truck arrived with a screaming child. This is for Service, not sales. I have a BMW X3 for my wife and an X1 for my daughter, both sales experiences were outstanding. My wife's 2023 had the rear headliner becoming undone. Simply poor workmanship. I spoke to the service advisor Face to Face to set up the appointment. We agreed on a date when I could bring it in and get a loaner carr. He asked a number of peculiar questions about my use of the car (it's 2 years old with 6,000 miles on it). I explained that my wife drives it to Walmart to get yarn. He said if it is found that I caused it, there would be a charge. Bad start. When I went in 2 weeks later to drop it off and pick up my loaner, Kat told me I was number 30 on the loaner car wait and it should be by tomorrow. I explained that I had one reserved and she said they don't reserve them. Thankfully Kat saw my head start to explode and worked to get me on. It was a bit of a lowrider that looked like I should be 22 years old and slinging dime bags, but it got me home. My wife used my Audi Q8 to go to Walmart and I drove the loaner. I just tried to get the plates put on my daughter's X1. The service guy couldn't find the front bracket and sent me into parts. I explained this all to the parts guy (who didn't want to be bothered with parts). He told me it was $101.00. I explained the car was new and he said "talk to your sales guy". Thankfully my sales guy gave me a voucher to get it for free. Unfortunately, they don't have any front brackets in stock. Tough place to get service. read more

On February 10, I brought my car to BMW of Austin for a recall service and worked with service coordinator Alejandro. After initial confusion about the recalls, BMW reported new issues, including a failing FRM module, but assured me the car was safe to drive. Upon leaving, critical electronics failed (turn signals, windows, flashers), creating an unsafe situation. My independent BMW mechanic determined the FRM module was likely damaged during BMW's scan due to improper battery charging, a known cause of FRM failure per BMW guidance. BMW of Austin denied responsibility, claiming it was a known issue under extended warranty and admitting chargers are not always used. They refused to do the right thing and repair the vehicle they damaged. After a letter to the Attorney General of Texas and what I suspect was a class action lawsuit by others, I was reimbursed by BMW of North America. This is a classic example of a company that is pennywise and pound foolish. I can't imagine they get a lot of repeat business with this type of customer service. I'll be going back to reliable Japanese cars going forward. read more

She said that's fine but they won't reset the message info on my car without the other services. That's blackmail! I'm so angry and feel totally taken advantage of. I said with a puzzled face as I was looking around, "I'm not really understanding since I'm looking at vehicles..." and he was like nope there's nothing we have nothing in our inventory. two issues one the car is a 750i .I had a drive train warning which disappeared after 10 minutes.There was some engine jerking, but warning light for engine stayed on Drove it for four days and no issues. so the fielders's choice was to drive it as it is or take it in to BMW to have them checkthe light. To check the warning light cost 260 then I'm informed that the oil sensor was bad and that was going to be 1000 and had to be replaced before they could do the diagnostic They do the diagnostic and no problems mechanically except now they want $450 for a software update to the car which is out of warranty, which if I don't pay, they don't turn off the engine light. Then I find out that really to deal with the issue wasn't just the 260 to look at the light. I didn't also was compelled to spend 450 for a software update to eliminate engine light so it was extraordinarily misleading. Obviously the pricing is obscene and you expect to be gouged by BMW this is just over the top so all in all a horrible experience. read more

Service is an issue as of 1 year-ish to date. I'm having to go back multiple times for recurring issues, experiencing difficulty with booking, and getting responses. I've been working with this dealership for 6+ years ( I think) and two different vehicles. It is by far the worst it's ever been. I feel no respect, no initiative, no sense of urgency, and completely let down by the service department I once trusted. I am currently driving a 2020 X5 with a steering wheel issue. I've asked the assistant manager how many times she considers a repeat visit for the same issue to be excessive, but that's a question I get NO response to. I get follow up from my outreach, then ghosted, and this is on the daily it seems. We're all busy, and I get delays ( I build homes) but it's out of hand. 05/10/2023 update, the service manager and the assistant manager have both worked to make things right. I am feeling confident that we can knock this out and come up with a favorable resolution. I have a new service date for them to address my situation. More to come post completion!
