Very disappointing experience with BMW Clear Lake Service Department, and not what I would expect from a BMW dealership. Their website advertises a $119 service, but they attempted to charge $150. If a price is publicly advertised, customers should not have to question it in order for it to be honored. Their website also promises a 10% discount for PM appointments, which they initially did not apply until I pointed it out. Another major issue: their online booking advertises vehicle pickup and return service. They picked up my BMW from my home, but later told me they would not return it and instead booked the cheapest Uber option so I could go pick up my own vehicle. This forced me to take time off work, which defeats the purpose of offering pickup and return service in the first place. To make matters worse, they even sent the Uber to the wrong address, despite the fact that they clearly had my correct address on file since they picked up the vehicle from my home earlier the same day. After escalating the issue, the Service Director did match the advertised $119 price and applied the 10% discount, which I appreciate. However, customers should not have to escalate issues just to receive what is clearly advertised. For a BMW dealership that represents the BMW brand, I expected much better transparency, organization, and customer care. This review is solely based on the service rendered on my vehicle. I was traveling for work and my belt snapped. I had my vehicle towed and they began the work. Initially, everything was going well, including communication with the team and the dealer taking me in on short notice. I ended up getting 2 service repair quotes, they replaced the belt and told me the car was leaking oil, had that addressed as well. Rented a car, drove 3+ hours to retrieve my vehicle, only to find that the car is still leaking oil and NOW a new issue where my screen / stereo is not working. I finally reached out to corporate BMW and to the dealer asking if a local dealer can address these issues. If this gets addressed, I will update my review but so far, I'm not happy with the service rendered. Wanted to provide an update on this issue. Called on Monday and asked for a call back from service manager. They never called back. Spoke to someone today, pretty rude and disrespectful gentlemen and I could barely understand his accent. Anyway, I was told I can take it to ANY bmw to fix the repairs that they missed. My main concern(s) 1. My stereo doesn't work after they allegedly fixed my car. 2. Charged me to fix an oil leak and car had been leaking oil. 3. Never called back. I would stay away from this place if I lived nearby and look for a real bmw dealer. read more

So, to get to this point my experience has to be very poor. Let's start with the fact I took my car in because my check engine came on and considering the fact you are unable to pass an emission test with it on to complete vehicle renewal. Firestone recommended that I take it to the dealership which I immediately dreaded but needed to get this complete. I took it in June 3rd and as of today June 22nd BMW Clear Lake has not updated me on what is happening to my car. Now I am avid student of consumer experiences. How could a luxury brand such as BMW be this bad considering their excellent brand equity in the marketplace? Here is my experience which I prefer to give details versus a blanket statement. June 3: Car Drop Off June 4: Thermostat needs to be replaced per service advisor - Recommended $7K of recommended repairs including radiator. I denied because I simply needed to only fix the thermostat to get check engine light off. June 8th: I send a note to dealership service department on their website to resolve this matter. No acknowledgement or resolution. June 9th: I call 11AM to get an update and service advisor promises to give update by 2PM. No Update. June 10th: I email at 2PM my service advisor. No response or acknowledgement. June 12th: Service advisor responds to my email and gives a vague response but no recommendation or timeline. So I call to get a better timeline and again promised to get a response by the end of the day. June15: I email service advisor at 3PM after yet another full day of no update. No acknowledgment or update. I have been stuck in my apartment for 3 weeks unable to go to grocery shopping, unable to go to dinner and unable to go meet friends, and most importantly unable to spend time with my kids. My question to the BMW leadership team (Randy and Johnnathan) running this operation, how is it possible to have a car on your shop floor for this long and not have KPI metrics telling you that this car is way overdue? Where is the accountability? There are real lives behind each vehicle that is service. It's not always about maximizing the most service $ per day and ignoring cars that don't measure up. I went for an oil change today and it was a bad experience it took them 3 hours just for an oil change and before I got there my door handle was just fine till they started working on it and when they finished they told me that my door handle was not in the condition that i had it in and i asked them to fix it because my car was just fine when I brought it in for the oil change And they told me they could not do anything about it and that I had to pay for them to fix it, and I really think that this is extremely ridiculous because I just went in for an oil change and I had left with all this problems and now I have to fix the door handle with my own money when the door handle was in a perfect condition this is extremely frustrating and they should own up for what they did to my car. read more

My husband and I had a terrible experience here 4-8-25. On 4-4-25 we had reached out inquiring about a pre-owned vehicle and never received a response from anyone at the dealership. Yesterday we reached back out because the vehicle was still listed on their site and we were in town from Denver and wanted to look at it and buy it. We were told it was still available and Matthew Hernandez informed my husband to text him when we were on our way down (we were staying an hour drive away from the dealership). Long story short, the vehicle was available when we were in contact with Matthew thirty minutes before arriving. Someone else had called, spoke with Matthew and started the buying process a few minutes before we got there. We became Matthew's pawn to strong arm the other buyer into paying the asking price while we stood around and waited for over an hour. Basically, he wasted 3+ hours of our precious day. In all my years of dealing with automotive service centers, this has been the most disappointing and frustrating experience I have ever encountered. My vehicle has repeatedly been returned to me in unacceptable condition, and the pattern of mistakes has been both unsafe and unprofessional. Below is a summary of my experience: My vehicle was handed back to me after an oil change with low oil. The vehicle was later returned with oil spilling out every time I came to a stop, creating both a hazard and a mess. The engine splash shield was misplaced, indicating careless reassembly. The engine cover was left loose. The oil cap was missing, which is an inexcusable oversight and could have caused serious engine damage. I was charged significantly for repairs, only to receive the vehicle back with the same unresolved issue. At no point did the department take responsibility for these repeated errors. When I attempted to follow up on these issues in person, I was ignored by the service staff, who made every effort to avoid acknowledging me. Rather than correcting their previous mistakes, the team attempted to justify additional repairs, shifting blame instead of resolving the problems they created. While Mr. Luis Morales has always maintained a respectful demeanor, he has not taken the necessary steps to properly advocate for or support his customers. This reflects directly on the service department's overall lack of loyalty, accountability, and commitment to customer care. This experience has left me extremely disappointed, and more importantly, concerned for the safety and integrity of my vehicle. I expected professionalism, quality service, and responsibility--none of which were delivered. I hope this message prompts a serious review of the service department's practices and the way customers are treated. No customer should ever have to endure this level of negligence or disrespect. The General Manager Randy Stine is the rudest, most unprofessional GM. I brought my X5 plug in hybrid to the service center for an ac repair that should have been covered under my extended warranty. Instead Randy refused to allow the mechanics to perform a proper investigation into the issues in my car and deemed the ac issue as my fault so it would not be covered under my warranty. He then quoted me $10,000 in repairs. My car was in their service center for a week without any work performed. My calls were unanswered. I had to take a day off work and go to the dealership in person to demand someone speak to me. This was the absolute worst customer service. The entire interaction has ruined BMW for me. I have only owned BMWs but after my meeting with Randy, I demanded they buy my car from me and I walked away without a car. I will not be buying a BMW ever again. read more

I had an appointment at 0930. I pulled in the garage as directed at 0931. I was told there was no one to help me to go into the lobby and register. I get into the lobby only to be told I was not in the right place. This was not my first time at this service area. The lady who directed me back into the garage made me feel like I was the bother. She went to talk to a guy at a service desk in the back. As a doctor, sometimes I just watch things happen. An African-American gentleman was sitting next to me. A service guy approached him and the conversation seemed tense & rude. the customer response: "I am an engineer and you treat me like I am stupid. I know what I need and how to communicate it." I thanked him because that is how I felt. As I am waiting finally a lady name Diana comes over to introduce herself saying "I partner with Jamel and will take care of you today." She proceeds to start helping 2 other customers ahead of me. My son arrived to pick me up and I beckoned him to come in. There were numerous service attendance but Diana was running around busy. At 1025, she asked for my keys...the tech had driven my car out of the back garage door. I still was not checked in. At 1110, she comes to the bench And ask me to come to her desk. I just want an oil change. She started to say that I needed an air filter and compartment filter. I asked why & to check my records from my previous visit because Jamel Russell took great care of me. She said there was no record of my visit. I showed an email and text. By now, I was tired and felt less valued. I just told her to just give my keys to leave but my son stated, just get the oil changed since we are here. We left out at 1120 with my stated price of 119.00 for the price. She stated, "I willl communicate with you via text. Feel free to text or call if you need further service." At 1355, I checked the status of the vehicle on the website provided. It had not been pulled in for service. I called and a gentleman said it was ready. So my son and I headed to retrieve it. Just before pulling in, Diana called to state that there was a tire rotation needed before they could finish. I explained that I did not need that right now. She stated the car would be ready in 30 minutes. What?!!! I explained that I just talked to a guy who said was ready. Upon arrival, the price showed $159...and she was having it washed which was complimentary. I asked what happened to the price? She said, "I will get that fixed." I paid and within 7 mins at 1422, the guy who helped this morning handed me keys and apologized for the delay. I went out to the car and mud was present. No wash at all. If you buy a car here, make sure it's not from Matthew Hernandez. I was in contact with Matthew regarding a used X5 my wife and I were interested in at 9:14 am today. We exchanged a few texts and Matthew said to text him when we were on the way so he could have everything set. I filled out the online financing application at 11:30 am. At 12:15 pm, we texted Matthew to say we were on our way. Coming from Spring, it was an hour drive down to Clear Lake. Upon our arrival we were told there was a sale pending and that if it fell through, we were next in line. "It was a matter of minutes between when you got here and the other customer trying to buy it." We contacted the dealership first, filled out the financing app and were on our way to the dealership. The time when this other person called was only a matter of minutes before us getting there, but not a matter of minutes from when you knew we were on our way. Why didn't you tell the other person there was another party interested and on their way and if it fell through THEY would be next in line? Wasted over three hours of our time between two hours driving and the time we waited around the dealership. Everybody else we interacted with was nice. The dealership looked good. On Jan 11th had a brake flush done on car. A day after leaving this service department traction control light and brake light both came on. 2 days later brake pedal became very soft almost not braking car at all. Brought car back into to shop and was told one of the brake bleeder valves was left only hand tight and maybe "someone" had tampered with it! This dealership took no blame at all for making such a dangerous mistake and even tried to make it sound as if it was fault of customer somehow. This dealership has a reputation for making critical safety mistakes on customer's vehicles and never seem to take any blame for the mistakes they make. These mistakes could hurt or even worse yet kill someone and they do nothing to change the outcome for future customers. Do yourself and your family a favor and never use this dealers for service as it literally could kill you. They change your email address without consent so as to not allow you to receive a BMW survey. This is by far one of the most irreputable businesses in the Houston area! read more

I was looking for a new ford bronco for months and finally found a good listing with a great price. It was thousands of dollars below the market price for Broncos and came with everything I was looking for including a hard top, lifted, black rims and all terrain big tires. When I called the dealership, Dwayne picked up and instantly sent me the total, out the door price. There was no bs dealership fees or random add-on prices. I booked a flight and even though I kept getting delayed, Dwayne was patient and took care of me with an Uber ride to the dealership once I arrived in Houston. I ended up getting a rotate and balance that my warranty did not cover and it came in under the price that was quoted. When does that ever happen? If i could do zero stars I would. I've been to this dealership twice, and both times were absolute BS. I had showed up and wondered around the service department, the car lot, the waiting area, and the show room for around 45 minutes without a single person greeting me, or offering to help me. With this frustration, I asked a person in the service department to help me find who I would talk to if I needed to get a quote to repaint the trim piece, he quickly told me that he was busy and to find someone else. (quite rude but okay) Not thinking much of it I asked someone else and they told me to pull the car into the service port so that they could take a look at it. When I pulled the car into the port, one of the female workers visibly laughed at my car, which I had just inherited and needs work btw. Again, not thinking much of the blatant disrespect, I spoke with Lucas and the presumably manager of the body work department, and both of which were the only nice people I met that day. Lucas was outstanding and truly treated me like a customer unlike all of his coworkers that seem to have thought that I didn't even own a car. It does get worse though. I went back for a second time to get a quote on fixing my driver side mirror which one of my neighbors had hit and agreed to pay for already. I know that fixing a 2004 beamer is not going to be cheap, and I could probably do it cheaper, but I decided to make an appointment this time and see what they could do about it. When I arrived, I was greeted and not laughed at this time, and everything went seemingly well. I spoke to my new service supervisor Nicolas, and he said that they would check it out. Anyways, I went with Nic and he was perfectly good throughout this process though he was just caught in the crossfire. I waited in the lobby and walked the lot a couple of times for about 1.5 hours wondering why it was taking so long for a quote. I ended up being sent a full inspection video of the car, of which I usually work on, and the video was the mechanic warning me about minor things I had already known about. I understand that the inspection was meant as a courtesy thing, but I came for a quote, not a 2-hour inspection that would cost me. The car was given to me and the inspection had said that a rubber gromet that holds one of my power steering lines was broken and the mechanic and moved the hose, showing how it could just hang freely. I had already known this bc I was the one that installed it and I had simply tucked it away as so the hose wouldn't drag on the ground. So I see this warning and think nothing of it because I installed the rack over a year ago, with no issues, even with the broken gromet. They give me the quote to fix the mirror, which is 1,700 dollars, I can understand dealer markups, but a brand-new mirror is 350 bucks on FCP Euro, and the installation fee of 300 bucks is total BS. I am 16 YO and i was able to take of the mirror and unplug it within 10 minutes of the accident. That is besides the point, because they give me the keys to the car, and park it outside for me, as it is ready to go, though I hear a little noise when I turn, me thinking its just the topped off power steering fluid that I didn't ask for, I thought it was just working the air out of the system. I left the dealer and drove for about 1 mile until i realized I needed to stop, I had lost all power steering, as I pulled into a ghetto Shell down the street. The hose was cooked, and the power steering fluid had dumped itself everywhere and the whole engine bay was full of smoke. I called the dealer 4 times to finally speak to someone, (Joe, the service manager) Who I told I could drive back to talk to, without any power steering, a broken mirror, and a fire hazard in the engine bay. I argued with Joe for around 30 minutes about the hazard that the mechanic neglected fix, and or just leave alone, as the car was functioning perfect before, and he knowingly took the car off the lift and drove away with the hose dragging on the ground, not tucked away as I ideally had it. Joe, also began to claim that the hose was dragging on the ground as I pulled into the shop, but he neglected to say anything, and admitted that though the "hose was already on the ground", It came in "without the hose being damaged". Long story short, my e46 is undrivable, broken in my driveway as they are not responsible for fixing what they broke, and my life was endangered as I drove away with a seemingly functional car that immediately broke down. If anyone is interested, Im going to be selling my silver e46 coupe after my last visit, my money is better spent at the Porsche dealership on my old cayenne, because at least they greet me, and grab me a drink while I wait. Let alone cripple my car and expect me to pay to fix the mechanics neglective work. Save your time and money, because everything is better than the new 4 cylinder that seems to be in every new model at this dealer. read more

I have only had my 2022 BMW M8 since March '22, and since I almost never drive it, this literally was my first service on the car, and my first experience with BMW service ever. I needed to top off the nitrogen in my tires, so I pulled in and had a porter do so, and also connect me with a service professional since I knew I was a few miles overdue for the first service. I was connected with Heather, and so glad I was! She was super friendly, and got me scheduled for the following week. When I dropped my car off, she was ready for me, and said it would be about 3 hours. I gave them as much time as needed since I have another car I can drive, and advised the time I would be there to pick it up. Not only was my car ready before she indicated, which was great, but when I arrived at the time stated, both she and my car were ready. I was in and out, easy breezy. Heather is a real gem, and while I hope I don't need to see her other than for routine service, I am glad I have her to call upon if I do need something. When the survey from BMW comes out, I will gladly complete it. She will have earned a 10/10 from me, and honestly, she's a 100/10. :) read more

Fidel Garza has every excuse in the book for why they DID NOT fixing my oil leak. I took my car in for the express reason of fixing the 1 Qt a week oil leak. They presented the bill, I paid the bill. The gasket that THEY diagnosed and changed DID NOT have ANY effect on the oil leak. We did knot know that they had NOT repaired the 1 QT a week oil leak until 4 days later when we needed to add another TQ of oil. I would NOT recommend BMW of Clear Lake to ANYONE! Beware, if you are out of warranty, they will take you for everything they can. We have used them for years and were satisfied with prior service. HOWEVER, I do not know what changed in their service department, but, they cannot be trusted. They wanted an additional $1400 to fix the real oil leak 4 days after I paid them $1056 to fix their misdiagnosed leak. read more

I could not be more unhappy with the service department. I have now received notifications of 3 appointments that I did not schedule. The latest appointment isn't even my vehicle. No one has any answers when I call and I can't seem to speak to a manager. When I'm on the phone with them, they don't even cancel the appointment so I still have to do that online myself. I brought my Z4 here for a manufacturer recall and left with a new problem when I drove away. Mysteriously my coils (which had been working perfectly prior to this visit) were now in dire need of replacement. Certainly a surprise to me but not to the service advisor who shrugged and had a quote all-too-ready when I returned to the shop to ask what had happened. I told her that I wasn't going to let them steamroll me like that, that unlike many of their other customers; I had more sense than money, and needed my car to be put back in proper order. The next day I picked up my car and lo-and-behold my car arose from the dead like Lazarus. They truly must perform miracles here....or..... ...or perhaps this dealership lives up to the "Stealership" stereotype. Based on this experience, I'll not be visiting another Advantage BMW location. Service Advisor David Tyson has consistently provided beyond excellent service. I receive updates and text messages about the services being completed on my vehicle so I'm not calling or wondering what's going on. I'm offered service specials that are in effect as well as recommended services that ensure my ride is safe without the pressure felt in other places. My car is clean when I pick it up and when I leave the dealership feel a sense of satisfaction out of the care I received. That's not easy to find anymore. read more
