This review is for the service shop that's connected to this gas station. I've been coming to them for service for several years. Just to give you an idea, my car is a 2004 Honda Accord that has been running rock solid for 212K miles thanks to these guys! I've always come to this Shell station for my maintenance. I used to change the oil myself, but it was always such a pain getting under my car and then disposing the stuff. So I just provide the filter and oil and these guys do it for me for $15. Same thing when changing my transmission fluid - just bring my own stuff, and they get under my car for $15. They've never ONCE tried to up-sell me on random crap like other places usually do. The shop is next to a McDonalds, so sometimes I just bring my laptop and surf the web there if I have to wait for a bit. My one big repair on my vehicle was when my AC crapped out at 199K. I got three quotes, and this place had the best price. They needed a day to do the repairs and I couldn't wait around, so one of the mechanics even gave me his own car to drive around for the day! On 4/21/21, I took my Nissan Pathfinder to El Dorado Shell for a state inspection. Approximately 5 minutes into the inspection, a mechanic came out of the garage and informed me that my vehicle was going to fail inspection due to torn wiper blades but that I could buy new blades there for approximately $30 (I don't remember the exact cost but it was about that). I was suspicious, so I immediately called my husband and he told me that was impossible because he maintains our vehicles. I did not buy their blades and brought the car home and surprise, surprise, the wipers had been sliced on both ends exactly 2.5 inches. We had just driven the car in the rain two days prior and would have noticed floppy, damaged wiper blades. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! We had to buy new wiper blades because of their deceptive practices. I will be filing a complaint with the State of Texas. read more

I went there first time a year ago for a simple oil change; when they finished and my car was rolling off jacks, there was oil leaking profusely. We noticed it and rolled it back up. Mohamed was very transparent, he showed me they had cracked the cap upon tighten it, he told me he would take care of it and he did. He kept the car for 2 hours, gave a ride back home and picked me back up. He showed me all the work done and paperwork for all the parts bought at the dealer. He then charged me zero. I rarely give five stars, however, these guys deserve it! This is a small service station at the corner of El Dorado and Hwy 3. Very reasonably priced gas and snacks inside of the small store area. My initial visit was to have a blown brake light replaced. The guys instructed me to just purchase one from an auto parts store and they would install. While it was not as simple as unscrewing the bulb and replacing, the guy had to remove some panels to get to the bulb. They did not charge me a thing! Next visit, my check engine light came on so I gave them a call to see if I needed an appointment. I was advised to come in for a diagnostic at no charge! In and out in about 30 minutes. Needed my gas cap replaced. They even put air in my tires and topped off fluids! Once again no charge! Single women that are not auto savvy really need places like this where the mechanics do not take advantage of you. They have a customer for life in me. Only disappointment was that we discovered we had a coupon that had come in one of those value packs you get in the mail but we were not allowed to use it because it was supposed to be presented at the time the vehicle is dropped off not when you go to pay. read more

Basal, Steve & the staff are amazing!! I had some major car issues, I took a chance and decided to take my car to shell. That's were I met Basal (owner) & Steve. I explained to the two in great detail of what I was experiencing with my car. They made an assessment, but we were still a little lost at what was going on with the car. There was more than one issue. I was not ready to give up on my car and purchase a new one, Basal knew that. Basal & Steve did not give up on my car. They both knew how important it was for me to drive away in my car fixed! I was told, it may take sometime, but we will figure it out...well, they kept their promise. I am a Senior Citizen. Yesterday l took the booster and left me a little weak. Following that I went to get an inspection for my vehicle. A guy with a beard told me that the inspection Passed but my brakes needed to be flushed. So l asked him how long would it take? He said ten minutes. I asked him if he was going to do it with a machine? He said, yes. Later he saw me looking thru the window into the garage. He then asked the mechanic to take it around to the back of the garage. So I walked around to the back of the garage and l saw the helper just pumping fluid from the reservoir with a turkey baister and then putting new fluid. NO machine was used as I was told. They charged me $60 dollars for something that just required a turkey baister and a quart of brake fluid ($12.00) No receipt describing the work was given to me. It could be that they could keep two card readers one for their under the table business and another one for their regular business, l guess? I have been going to this business for years because they offer a discount coupon. I am writing this review because I don't want someone else to be taken for and I will no longer support this business. read more

Great service and fair prices! I was referred to this place by my father-in-law after my G35 started over heating and leaking coolant. I needed a new radiator and thermostat. The first place I took my car to receive a quote from was charging me 4x the price I received from Basel. Needless to say, I went with Basel and I am happy I did. He not only resolved my issues timely and at a fair price, he also informed me of other repairs down the road to keep a look out for. I was having issues car. They were able to fix it in a timely manner. They were very affordable and professional.

We took our car in to have coolant and freon added and they told us the coolant fan needed to be replaced and it would only cost $68. When we went to go pick it up the bill was $634. How do you go from $68 to $634 on a fan? Well they said it was the whole fan assembly that had to be replaced not just the fan. Needless to say they have lost our business for good. read more
