The first time I saw Barbie looking like she does in the picture, as you see, I made an Advance towards her. How could I not? It was an auto reaction. Parts of me thought it a bad idea, but those parts were wrong because now she's mine. They weren't particularly nice to us at Advance and we weren't able to find any of the things that Barbie needed. It's not my favourite place by any stretch of the imagination and we were better off at AutoZone down the road in the end. I need to get new windshield wipers so that my car can pass the state inspection. This location was close by my house so a no brainer on going here. I couldn't remember which sizes go on my car so I attempted to picked them out on memory and checked out. Informed the cashier that I'm not sure if I got the correct ones. First this is a shout out moment to Rashad or Rashid (sorry I don't remember how to spell your name. I saw it on your shirt and thought I can remember that name!) He proceeded to look it up for me and guess what...I got the wrong sizes. Haha. Got the correct ones and checked out. He asked if I needed help putting it on. I told him that I did replace them once by myself and I would like to attempt. He gave me a look like "you sure!?" He said he'll be outside if I need him. It did take me awhile, I was reading my car manual and the instructions that came in the windshield wiper boxes. But I didn't give up. Rashad was helping another lady with her back wipers and saw that I was having a little difficulty. He said I'll be with you once I finish helping her. I never stopped trying and finally I got it! Which happen to be same time he finished helping the other lady. He turned around and was like you got it!? I said yup! And ran over to me and gave me a high five. A car pulled out of the parking lot with me and honked and waved at me also. Pretty proud moment I must say! Haha Rashad was manning the cashier, assisting the customers, and helping outside. Kudos to him! I heard him even thanking another customer for being so kind and smiling. As busy as he was he never looked flustered or frustrated. He had a smile on his face, calm, and still willing to help everyone. Even when he told me that the guy in the back can help me and then that employee said he can't right now and started to list off all the things he had to do, Rashad was like no problem give me a moment and I will help you. Tristy and Pedro were amazing! I stopped in to get a light for my car and ended up leaving with the light I needed and wipers and fluid. Also found out I needed something repaired to make the wiper fluid work from their willingness to replace my wipers and check to make sure they work. They are amazing people! read more

Only two real caveats, and both are because of the location rather than the facility or staff. - It shares an entry driveway with a storage facility. Sometimes you win the lotto and get to stare at a moving truck which is... not... moving... for some reason. - You exit onto Highway 3. Sometimes traffic is so backed up from El Dorado that making a left can be a little tricky. Just use your horn and be aggressive -- make friends. read more

I needed new windshield wiper blades for my GMC, Pic-Um-Up so I stopped by Advance Auto on Old Galveston Road. Caitlyn waited on me and asked if I just wanted something to get by or did I want the best quality. I told her I wanted the best, of course. She showed me all of her premium wiper blades and pointed out the pros and cons and I settled on their best Trico blades. I've had bad luck with them in the past, (20years ago) but she said that they were what she used so I'll give them try. She even installed them for me so I'm a happy camper, she did her best to make me feel like a customer that she wanted to please. I'll be back. read more

I've never used this auto parts place since their competitors are much closer to my home. But they had the item I needed in stock. They quoted me an estimated price over the phone, but when I got there and they looked it up, the price was $20 higher. The sales person checked with the person who originally gave me the price and instantly sold it to me for the lower price. Thanks for having the part and honoring the "estimated" price! read more
