Unlike the Toyota dealerships I'm used to, they actually wash your car for you as well. JR at BMW of Riverside was honestly one of the friendliest salespersons I've EVER dealt with in the car business. I think for most people, this is the part they dislike the most, and it was so refreshing to work with someone who LISTENED to exactly what I wanted and needed and helped me find the best option! Given that I was in Orange County, I had lots of options and tried to connect with several BMW dealerships in my area, and unfortunately for them, but fortunately for BMW of Riverside, no one could get me what I was looking for but JR did! We worked the transaction entirely over the phone and I only had to drive out to trade-in, do paperwork, and get my new car. All the details and viewing was done via phone. I realize not everyone can do that, but for me, driving out spending hours in the process at the dealership was not an option, so I did all the legwork from afar first and sealed the deal in person. JR was honest with me and got me exactly what I needed. I had to drive home late that night (as I couldn't make the drive to the dealership until after work) and after arriving home, he even text to make sure I got home safely. I called BMW of riverside in advance to trade in a BMW of mine for a 2021 M4. I was told to ask for Edwin Sarhad When we arrived. Upon arrival at reception desk, I asked for Edwin. He came over & immediately told us that he had no interest in accommodating our needs. I was a bit taken back, being I'd purchased a half dozen BMW's from riverside in the past. This guy didn't sit us down & even try to work with us. I'm assuming he profiled me, being I was in gym clothes, but regardless he basically spun us around & booted us out. Needless to say, I went to BMW of Murrieta, where I was treated how a customer should be treated. & if you see the pic I attached, I was able to get the new 2021 M4 I was looking for. Our BMW X3 had a problem with the brakes suddenly grabbing during driving when I was not stepping on the brake pedal. This caused the car to shake violently. The only way to stop it was to pull over, turn the engine off and restart the car. The problem was sporadic and unpredictable and very distressing when it would happen at high speeds on the freeway. So in June 2022, I brought the car into the Riverside BMW. I described the problem to the service person. They looked at the brake pads and said there was plenty of life left in them and started looking for things that had nothing to do with the brakes grabbing. They replaced a wire harness and another thing that I don't recall; neither of which had anything to do with the brake grabbing problem that they were supposed to solve. Not surprisingly, that did not fix the problem and I brought it back. They did some diagnostics and told me that the battery was not putting out a specified voltage, and they were "confident" that replacing the battery (for $700) would fix the problem. I asked why they suspect a faulty battery when all the electrical components in the car worked fine. After hesitating a few seconds he responded with a very lame statement "Well, it's a very sophisticated system" and did not elaborate on what that meant. In other word, he didn't have a clue, and again ignored that I have a brake grabbing problem, not a battery problem. I was very skeptical, but on the remote chance that the BMW mechanic (excuse me, "technician") might be on to something, I had a private BMW mechanic replace the battery, for $200 cheaper. As I suspected, that did not solve the problem. I called again and was told to bring it in again, and the shop foreman ("who deals with problem cars") would look at it. Two days later, they called and said the shop foreman could not figure out what was wrong and to come pick up the car with the problem unresolved. I brought it to my regular mechanic in January 2023 and he did not have the proprietary equipment to diagnose a BMW, but noted that the brake pads were almost completely worn down - 6 months after the BMW mechanic noted that the brake pads had plenty of life in them. So in just 6 months the brake pads were completely worn down because the BMW mechanics kept ignoring that the problem was grabbing brakes. So to tally up the losses: $1746.47 to BMW for misdiagnosing the problem and stringing me along three times ($947.47 on 6/12/22, $572.00 on 10/16/22, and $227.00 on 4/3/23), as well as my regular mechanic's replacement of brake pads ($1287) which wouldn't have worn out if BMW fixed the problem in June 2022, and $500 for a new battery which BMW indicated was needed but was not. Eventually, I discussed the problem to my son-in-law who works on his own cars; he is not a professional mechanic, but is pretty knowledgeable. Unlike the BMW mechanics, he listened to my description of how the brakes were grabbing without pressing the brake pedal. So he did an internet search and pretty quickly found that the problem in BMWs was due to a sticky valve in the ABS module. He bought a used ABS module on eBay for $300, installed it and the problem was solved. So I conclude that The Riverside BMW service department is incompetent, only looks at the computers diagnostics and ignores the first hand information from the car owner, all the while, stringing out the customer for a series of unnecessary expensive repairs. read more

Pretty much the worst part of owning a BMW was having to rely on BMW's service dept. Everything was covered under warranty until they'd randomly claim it wasn't. Go in for an airbag sensor light, get the car back 3 days later and the Bluetooth didn't work. Take it in to get the Bluetooth fixed and they'd claim the car never had Bluetooth to begin with. Etc... etc... At one point I drove a loaner car for 3 weeks & could not get any information or even a call back as to why my car was taking so long or when it would be ready. I can't tell you if my BMW was a lemon or if these guys were so inept at fixing things and breaking something else, while offering little-to-no communication. I don't know, but seriously, I always wanted a BMW & the experience of having to deal with this place soured me for life. Got rid of the BMW & now drive a Genesis & I've had exactly ZERO problems with the Genesis. read more

I went in today, just looking around. I saw a convertible on their website and thought I might like it. Unfortunately, they'd already sold it, but I met JR (Jamil) and he was very nice. We found the exact car that we wanted on their website and then called the dealership to see if we could make a deal on it over the phone, because we live an hour away. We worked with a salesman named Dylan Barnes and a sales manager named Nader Zekria. They both were incredibly accommodating and professional. They put a deal together for us that we feel was awesome. And it was the very first deal they presented to us. No need to haggle. We got a 2021 BMW 330e (electric) and found the exact color and options that we wanted, without exception. We had priced a lesser model at two other dealerships closer to us and were quoted considerably higher prices. When it came time to take delivery, they actually offered to DRIVE the vehicle to us! Another sales man named Mark Decker drove the car to us, again, over an hour away, because our original salesman Dylan was away on a trip. Mark showed up to our house, as promised and presented it to us with a giant red bow on it! Loved it! Mark gave us a thorough tour of all the technology and we even took a quick drive around the block so he could show me some stuff in action. Mark wore gloves and a mask the entire time and was incredibly professional and helpful. Then, we sat down so I could sign all the new car paperwork. BMW of Riverside just lost a good customer. I've been taking my car here for service for the last couple years after moving to a new area. I recently called to schedule a service appointment and was informed they will no longer provide loaners for routine maintenance and that they expect you to sit there and wait 2-3 hours. The person on the phone transferred me to a service advisor, I left a message for this person to call me back and told him the issue and that I would go elsewhere if this isn't addressed; and I haven't heard back from him. On top of that, a colleague of mine who owns many BMWs recently also had a terrible experience with BMW of Riverside and moved to BMW Ontario, which is what I just did as well. Update: just to show the short sightedness of BMW Riverside and how it's losing customers left and right due to poor customer service, after taking my car to BMW Ontario for service, in addition to the routine service, they discovered other areas where repair is needed (which I'm not surprised as I have 110,000 miles on this one) -- that's quite a bit of $$$ BMW Riverside could have earned but will not be. read more
