I've been a fan of Chef Momo since his days at Harbor View Hotel on Martha's Vineyard, where his talent was already impossible to ignore. Yes, he's the chef who cooked for President Obama twice, but what impresses me most isn't the celebrity connection. It's his commitment to seasonality, sustainability, and the people behind the food. Chef Momo doesn't just buy ingredients--he builds relationships. He visits local farms, works directly with producers, and supports local businesses throughout Western Massachusetts. That philosophy is the heart and soul of bNapoli. This time, my favorite dish was the Hamachi Crudo. Thin slices of yellowtail, cured with salt, sugar, and citrus zest, floated in an orange acqua pazza so vibrant it tasted like sunshine meeting the sea. Clean, delicate, and beautifully balanced. The squid tonnarelli was equally memorable. Tender squid folded into house-made pasta with a lemon tomato sugo simmered for three hours, enriched with lobster stock, Calabrian chilies, crab, and shrimp. Rich, comforting, and deeply satisfying. My daughter's favorite showcased Chef Momo's creativity at its finest. Using a pâte à choux-based dough, he achieved a texture that seemed to defy gravity--ethereally light, impossibly pillowy, and delicate enough to disappear on the tongue. Paired with sweet roasted corn, asparagus, lemon crema, and crispy basil, the dish tasted like summer distilled into a single plate. As an Asian female chef, I couldn't help but reflect on how underrepresented chefs of color remain in fine dining. Some of the most talented chefs I've met throughout my career deserve greater recognition, and Chef Momo is certainly one of them. His food speaks for itself--thoughtful, elegant, technically precise, and deeply rooted in community. So delicious and lovely ambiance! We had a great server and were very impressed by this place. The cocktails were absolutely delicious and very well balanced. We shared a second one since we didn't uber - unfortunately! The focaccia was so fluffy, a little salty, and perfect in a little olive oil. Yes, we accepted seconds. The caprese was good. The peaches were hit or miss but the tomatoes and burrata were very fresh. The grilled octopus was the biggest surprise to us as it was perfectly cooked. A nice char on the outside and so tender inside. You don't find that everywhere! And lastly the combo of flavors in the brussels with the perfect charred crunch made my husband not even miss the protein! The chocolate mousse cake we got to go was the perfect ending. This is one of my favorite restaurants in western MA. If you want a great dinner, with amazing atmosphere, come here. It was Friday night so a reservation was necessary. We were able to push the reservation to a half hour later easily on open table when our friend from central ma ran into traffic. Ok the food! The server, I didn't get her name was amazing. She was personable and funny and knew how to flow through her section. I started with the brussel appetizer and it was out of this world. Perfectly fried, with a sweet glaze and bacon. The table devoured them. The special of the night was a pan seared salmon with a shaved brussel/coleslaw and sweet potato purée. For dessert we shared the amazing bread pudding. Before I placed an order for delivery, I called up Bnapoli to ask about the portion size of their pizza on Doordash menu, as strangely no size is listed. Was informed by the restaurant hostess it was like a medium pizza with 8 slices. I stressed that this pizza would be the meal for 2 and needed to be enough to fill 2 adult appetites. The staff member ensured me it would, and I placed the order. To my disappointment, the pizza delivered was a "shareable appetizer" enough to feed one , not two adults. They own the pizza place next store, and the sizing is clearly not a standard medium pizza, but rather a shareable appetizer. Manager was apologetic when I submitted my complaint, but offered no recompense. Pizza was ok, not as good as the next door neighbor, and the toppings were on the side, left for the customer to put on on the pie. Just be aware when ordering. read more

Staff: We had Ben at the bar and he was very good but helpers at the bar were very pushy almost like the were trying to turn over customers faster...asking to box up our appetizers and get us the bill before our entree's even came. Food: It was good and presented well Price: Very surprised at the price for two people, one not drinking, and no dessert for West Springfield. before tip was over $75 a person. Sometimes, you make promises to go to "that nice place in the next town over" but fate never has you near there when you go out.. Well, I am simply delighted that we *finally* ended up at Bnapoli recently for dinner. The fresh rolls that I thought nobody made anymore, the pleasant service, spectacular wine list, and just simply super fresh Italian dishes. I love going out to eat, and finding a chef's treasure chest of meals that are made with interesting homemade sauces or with unique ingredients that fit the seasons. I am also directing you to look at the photo of the bar where they have an apothecary of tinctures that are used in these delightful cocktails. I would not say that this is an inexpensive place to eat, but if you were going out to enjoy a good meal and enjoy the taste of your drink, enjoy the textures of your food, this is the place you want to be. read more

We got the pizza for the kids and it was very good brick over pizza made fresh. We had the steak and Bronzino and both were well cooked and flavorful. The design of the restaurant is beautiful and modern, the dining area is cozy but doesn't feel crowded even when fully booked such as the night we came. Amazing! Casual comfortable and wnjoyable place to sit and dine. Even when it got busy there was this background noise that was sonehow comforting. The food is over the top. Green olive oil to die for. Home made doccacia bread. I had the charcuterie board. That alone was enough for dinner and impressive. Gollowed by grilled ovtopus then missels and a rib eye steak. Espresso and bucca for dessert and my gravious host/server/bartender slipped me a likoncello which was so seet and enjoyable after a big meal. This is not a place to go out to eat! Three of us scheduled a special weekday dinner out in West Springfield and we chose bNapoli as a new adventure. The restaurant is simply appointed and comfortable. I ordered the artichoke appetizer for the table and it contained two large stuffed artichokes. They were large, very well seasoned and quite fresh tasting. Our meals included a Margherita pizza, the carbonara pasta, and the bolonese pasta. All three were ample and provided enough for take home boxes. My wife proclaimed the pizza was the best Margherita pizza she has ever had. My carbonara was very rich and filling. The bolonese was equally appetizing. The house Chianti was light and smooth. Our server, Brian, was outstanding. He was friendly and engaging. He made us feel right at home. The parking is on-street and you may have a bit of a walk on a busy night. We'll be back for sure. Dinner at bnapoli last night was fabulous, but my five star rating is primarily related two two outstanding things: 1. The Lamb Meatballs appetizer ($14) was truly one of the most delicious things I have eaten in my life. The description reads "meyer lemon yogurt, pomegranate, cucumber relish, pine nuts, parsley pesto". The combination is perfect. Note that the pine nuts are actually cooked in the meatballs, and generously so, and makes for a great texture as well as enriching the already complex flavors. I'm planning NOT to share this next time and make it a main part of my meal. This appetizer comes with three smallish meatballs, and when the server saw we were splitting it recommended we order one add on to divide evenly - well worth it. 2. The excellent service. Everyone from the front desk to the floor manager, server, and serving/clearing assistant was friendly and knowledgeable. I couldn't find a single flaw. We were checked on regularly but not excessively and everything was cleared quickly and served in just the right timing. We had two drinks, a pinot grigio and a tasty Hazelnut Alexander (off the desert menu, but I ordered it with my appetizer). The Chitarra was a great twist on a carbonara that brilliantly avoids the raw egg issue by topping with a sous vide/poached egg. Delicious, though personally I would prefer without the onion, but that's a personal taste call. The gorgonzola pizza was also extremely good and a competitor in my mind to my favorite salad pizza at Posto. Worth a comparison for anyone who is a fan of that one. read more

My family recently hosted my sisters Baby Shower at Bnapoli as we were looking for a cocktail style party atmosphere for an afternoon shower, and we could not be happier with our experience! Let's start with the good: service. Now for the rest: underwhelming. Their menu writer is great; their chef not so much. Ambiance: We were on the patio bc the weather was fabulous. But, before you opt for the patio I'll say this: buses, pedestrians smoking, and loud motorcycles. Menu: Food descriptions were enticing, unfortunately the descriptions are the best thing on the menu. The caprese: I don't recall if they said Burrata or motz - regardless it was dry and flat, tomatoes weren't salted, and balsamic was watery. It's August in western mass and you have to have very low quality to deliver something so... lackluster. Brussel sprouts - best thing we had. My wyf was excited for the fig, Gorgonzola, and arugula pizza. There was def Gorgonzola as for the fig- we couldn't taste it. I opted for the veal filleto. This is by far one of the best Italian Restaurants I've ever been to. Amazing food. The Halibut was a daily special and I did not regret it one bit. The lamb Meat balls were very flavorful. Ass some pasta to it and it would make a perfect dish. The Parpadelle pasta was served with some Jumbo shrimp and was definitely a highlight as well. As a matter of fact, all the dishes were a hit. The atmosphere was very nice. A little noisy but not to the extent where you can't hear yourself. And the service was exceptional. The dishes came out in a timely manner, and the staff couldn't be more enjoyable. Will definitely return if I'm in the Springfield area. read more

For my cocktail I enjoyed a dirty grey goose martini with a blue cheese olive. The glass was chilled and it was well made. I had two and loved both of them. For the appetizer, we enjoyed the fried cheese (a special for the day) and the octopus. The octopus was cooked to perfection- a little char on the outside and the perfect texture. For the entree, I had the short rib ragú, another special for the day. It was delicious. They also gave us complimentary bread that was warm and fluffy. I returned to B'Napoli recently for the first time in a couple of years with high expectations based on past experiences. Unfortunately the restaurant did not live up to those expectations. I started out with a tasty chunk of bread & olive oil and a lamb meatball my dining partner offered me. It seemed to be of good quality with just the right amount of spice. It was all downhill from there, though. I had ordered "a pinot noir", leaving it up to the server to choose one, primarily to go with my salmon dinner. A taste of the wine before the main course was not impressive and pairing it with food was no better. The "dinner" consisted of a "warm brussel sprout salad", which was just a bit larger than a 3oz piece of salmon, which had the burnt skin on top of it. The sweet potato puree on the menu was not served and an apple cider reduction was also missing. The "meal" was very bland, except for the taste of a bit of burnt skin. I can only guess that the server picked up our plates to serve to us before the chef finished preparing them? This was definitely an example of not getting what you pay for, at one of the pricier restaurants in the area. read more

After many years of passing by and telling ourselves we have to remember to pick this spot for dinner one night, we FINALLY managed to get there. We went on Thursday at 5:30 without reservations. The restaurant was lively but not packed (yet) and the sweet hostess sat us at a table in the back. I am always wary of sitting near the bathroom but this table was tucked right next to the wine room which is enclosed with glass giving such a romantic vibe. Everyone around us seemed to know each other, the (presumed) owner came out of the kitchen to greet his friends and there were friendly Italian greetings being exchanged which really added to the authenticity. Our server, Annabelle, was OUTSTANDING. I couldn't decide between two meals and she explained everything I needed to know, right down to the cooking process, to make my decision. I highly recommend the short rib ragu! We started with an appetizer, enjoyed two rounds of bread and we both thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The dessert menu was very inviting and I almost went for the espresso martini but we skipped dessert this time around because we were headed out to a ticketed event in springfield. This place was wonderful and it is great for a special occasion or just a wonderful meal. We left around 6:45, there was a line at the door so I would recommend a reservation. Our meals were excellent, service was great, the prices equally decent and the decor clean and modern.
