Smoked chicken- Mac n cheese- potato salad
    Bailey C.

Super crowded on a Friday night, line out the door (which is a good sign)! Despite being busy food came out fast and staff was friendly/helpful with the menu. Large area to sit and enjoy your meal. They call your name over intercom to walk up to get your food. Comes out on baskets/trays that you take to dispose as you walk out. They have brews and normal soda/tea options. They have sauces to choose from including: bbq (thin sauce for my liking), spicy buffalo, bbq buffalo, etc. they also have Alabama white bbq sauce Ordered Pulled pork plate - husband said just average pulled pork Rib plate - bone fell right out, every bite was tender & juicy with loads of flavor Pulled pork sandwich Brisket sandwich (delicious, may be the best brisket in town) Smoked chicken plate *Tip* sandwiches come in small and large, pictured is the small Sides tried: Fried squash (extra cost) watery, minimal flavor - will not order again Hash brown casserole - WOW, amazing Vinegar slaw - delicious Mac n cheese - just average Hushpuppy - has a kick, get several with one order. I've had better Overall, would love to come back for breakfast, or to try their wings or nachos (huge serving)! Great bbq spot in HSV

Brisket was hot and flavorful, right amount of fat and a huge portion. Sides could be a little bigger, Mac and cheese is to die for and so is the potato salad. Everything was fresh and a good portion of meat for your money. These guys know what is up!! Will definitely be back!

Boarhog's BBQ is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and top-notch customer service that made us feel right at home. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was perfect. And the food--wow! Every bite was a flavor explosion. The BBQ was cooked to perfection, with tender, juicy meats that were packed with smoky goodness. The brisket sandwich was delicious and not Smokey in flavor at all. The loaded baked potato was amazing then topped easily with a pound of pulled pork. The meats were so tender and flavorful. The bbq sauce was nice and vinegary and added the right amount of flavor on top. The sides were equally delicious, complementing the main dishes perfectly. The baked beans were sweet and tangy. The Mac and cheese definitely needed more cheese or perhaps we got some from the end of the tray. Their sweet tea was easily some of the best in the area. You can tell they take great pride in what they serve. I loved all of their wall decor with named hogs and quirky signs. If you're looking for incredible BBQ with excellent service, Boarhog's BBQ is the place to go. We'll definitely be back!

The atmosphere was really nice and it was set up for big families or friends. The service was great and the food was really good and they give you plenty of food. My wife and I liked it so much that we ended up getting some food to go also. I forgot to take a picture of the sandwich but I did take pictures of the rest.

I'm sorry; this is a long review.  Bottom line: food is OK, price is kinda steep for portion size on some dishes, restaurant is awkward. Detailed review:  Tried this place after church on Sunday afternoon.  Almost no wait when we got there around 1145 but it got super busy round noon after we got our food. There are a lot of logistical issues at this place - stuff that usually goes smoothly at other places that doesn't seem to work right here. They have a giant TV with the menu but it was difficult to read for both my wife and kid (it was a little blurry for me but I could make it out OK).  Not sure if it's the resolution of the image or the Vizio TV).  If you have trouble seeing it they've got paper menus at the front.  The ordering area/front counter can get kind of congested - the drink machine and the BBQ sauce (one bottle for the entire restaurant to share, don't take it to your table) is located - there is usually a knot of people as people stand in line to place their order, people come from across the room to pick up food when it's called and people standing in line to get a refill or sauce. They serve all the food on metal plates and put them on big black trays.   Going off the half printed, half hand written signs on the wall, they would like you to return the trays and plates to a cart... which is right by the front door.  This requires you to lug your dirty dishes down the same hallway where everyone is standing in line to order and jump in front of people who are just entering the store.  Normally, when restaurants want you stack plates and trays, they use a wax paper liner on the plate so it is easy to slide your food trash into the garbage.  This place doesn't do that so you're trying to push a bunch of ketchup, baked beans and BBQ into the trash and not make a mess.  It is not optimal.  I don't mind bussing tables but this was not a well conceived operation.  There are three exits - one is the front door by the trash, one is in the main dining room but is partially obstructed by a table and chairs and doesn't get used and the other is  through the line of people waiting to order and looks more like an employee/delivery driver entrance.  This place could really use a Lean Six Sigma consultation or some fung shui tuneup. Food was OK.  I ordered a $17 brisket plate and received the most fat I've ever gotten in a brisket order.  I think about 40% of the plate was fat.  The sides were very small - I got potato salad and baked beans.  The beans were good, potatoes salad was very dry and seemed like too much mayo (which sounds contradictory but welp that's the way it was).  French fries were considered a premium side (which is weird, because they're usually cheap and the default) with a $1 upcharge if you are so inclined.  The Texas toast was delicious and one of the better I've had. BBQ sauce was vinegar based - I lived in NC for quite a while so I'm used to vinegar based BBQ sauce.  This one had quite a tang but was good.  They also had a spicy Buffalo sauce that was OK. Kids meals seemed decent.  Oldest kid liked her pulled pork sandwich with chips (a large bag of chips was a plus) and the younger one liked her chicken tenders and fries.  I thought the chicken tenders weren't overcooked, but not a lot of seasoning there. Wife got a pulled pork sandwich combo and though the sandwich was huge even though she got the small version.  She didn't like her squash but that's why you should never order fried squash :D. They have a Pepsi fountain and beer is also available. Ambiance is OK and plenty of seating to handle the crowds. No risk of this place going under -- very popular with the locals. Employees were nice enough from my interactions with them. $48 for a family of four with two drinks and two waters.  Not bad for BBQ but not the best I've had.  I feel like this place is definitely a resto with a learning curve- could be a lot better if you know what to order and management fixes some things. I'll try it again!

Loved it and cannot wait to come back. I definitely recommend this place. The wings were smoked, crispy, and fantastic. One of the best chicken potatoes. Didn't have white sauce with it and not sure if they have it. But give me Big Bob Gibson's white sauce on this potato and I guarantee it will be great. People were nice and food was quick. The dining room had plenty of chairs and a room next door. I want to try everything on the menu

How much is the pulled pork per pound?

I'm sorry I don't know the answer but I will tell you, last Saturday I paid $21.45 per pound (tax & tip inc) for a pound of pulled pork in Chattanooga. Prices have gotten outrageous.

Great customer service and I greatly appreciate their accountability/ willingness to make up for our previous visit. Last night we started with the crab croquettes, STELLAR. Absolutely loved and devoured these. The crunch on the croquette was to die for, topped with a refreshing crab salad, perfect. For my entree, I had the lamb rack with house potatoes & broccolini. My boyfriend had the blackened catfish with the grits. Both dishes were phenomenal . To finish up we tried their new chocolate strawberry bread pudding, so rich and delicious. This seemed to want to be a foodie destination. The half, fried chicken included a small drumstick, small wing, piece of breast, and another piece that was unidentifiable but might have been a thigh. It had a spicy sweet sauce covering, which we opted to have on the side. That was a good choice because the hint of cayenne was still too much for one diner. We asked about the slaw -- whether it had a cream or vinegar dressing. The server described it as a "creamy vinegar." It made no difference because the dressing was so understated that the side tasted more like chopped cabbage than anything else. Disappointing. Finally, I asked the server whether the grilled green beans were actually that. I was more curious than anything else because grilled green beans would take longer to cook. She said yes, they were grilled. I don't think so. They came out fairly quickly and were pretty universally blackened all over like they were cooked in a skillet. Once our food was delivered, we never saw our server again until I asked for the check. So, what I believe was intended to be an elevated dining experience was simply under executed.

The star of the meal was the fried green tomatoes. They were thick, juicy, perfectly fried, and honestly didn't need any dipping sauce or condiment at all. They're some of the best I've had. Minnie and I both ordered the whole catfish with mashed potatoes and fried green tomatoes. We absolutely demolished our plates. The catfish was delicious, and the mashed potatoes tasted genuinely homemade. The brown gravy was rich and flavorful and paired perfectly with them. My mom ordered the 4-vegetable plate with fried green tomatoes, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and fried okra. She loved everything on her plate. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the restaurant was busy the entire time we were there. There was a steady stream of both dine-in customers and takeout orders, which tells you a lot about the place's reputation. My only complaint is the wait time. Food takes a while to come out, especially if you're ordering fried items, but they do warn you ahead of time. The quality makes it clear they're cooking to order, so if you decide to visit, just be prepared to be patient. If someone asked me where to take an out-of-town guest for authentic Southern cooking, G's Country Kitchen would be at the top of my list. The food is homemade, comforting, and exactly what people imagine when they think of classic Southern cuisine. Overall, the food was fantastic, the service was welcoming, and it's easy to see why G's Country Kitchen is a go-to spot for homestyle country cooking. We'll definitely be back.
