Didn't get a chance to try any food so can't say anything there. Lots of space outside and can't wait to see the band lineup. Worried that they'll be keeping sound low because of sound carrying. Parking is probably going to be a big issue when bands like Blue Monday play but, that's what Uber is for, right? The only thing bringing the review down is the prices. Three beers, $25+tip. I have come here a few times and have enjoyed myself every time. I like the openness of the place and the fact that thy welcome food trucks. One of my favorites is here on a regular basis so I try to catch them. The place seems to never be crowded but I really like the setting. They have a lot of beers on tap but I like liquor. They also have a limited men. I have never tried the food but have heard that the flatbreads are good. Service is good. We have always had good luck. read more

I love this place. Live music, good food, and alcohol...what more can you ask for?? Atmosphere is laid back and welcoming, the updated menu now has burgers, pizzas, and a variety of salads. Need to get on the NC wavelength while making it different and a step above. A Great looking casual atmosphere. I give them an A+ for the atmosphere. Metal bar stools.....LOOK GREAT!!!!! but you must have a really skinny behind for them to be comfortable....really true. I think they did not realize that people in general come in all sizes. Also a more severely without the proper width can limit the size person that can sit comfortably. If you notice real barstools have only a small curve to fit ones back properly. Ladies if you are over a size 12 you'll need to sit at a picnic table. A woman has an average hip circumference is about 35". Same for men who weigh over about 170#. This same seating is everywhere but the picnic tables. FULL bar! The bar area is truly impressive. One of the nicest I've seen anywhere in this area. Liquor prices are a too high with no specials. Some bar owners don't know it is legal in NC to have special prices on alcohol as long as it is a daily special. AGAIN, check out Kick Back Jack's. KBJ's is majorly successful. They are only about 2 years here in Mooresville and have been doing great from the day they opened the doors. THE ENTERTAINMENT LINEUP IS AWESOME. Don't know if I could sit for 3 hours in one of the stools for the entertainment. Don't forget about possibly using Karaoke, Trivia night (fun themes), music trivia, and line dancing. When you are uncomfortable do you really enjoy anything you are doing? As for the food trucks, I don't get that at all. This place has the potential...but......FOOD TRUCKS? We have gone to many food truck events in this area and find them pricey, poor quality and small portions. Mooresville downtown has food truck Saturdays about 8 times a year. We need new and different places so lets give BOAT YARD EATS a chance. Successes are ideas that use mistakes as learning opportunities to achieve a goal. No bar will ever be successful if the bartenders don't acknowledge the guests. Even if a bartender is busy (which they weren't), a quick nod or even eye contact to let me know you see me waiting goes such a long way. Also, you should probably prioritize your guests over whatever you're doing on your phone. If I have to stand there and watch you text or Snapchat or whatever and verbally address you to get your attention to make me a drink, you've lost my business. The patio is awesome, food was great, live music enjoyable, good drink selection at reasonable prices. We'll be returning for sure. Just a shame the new owners haven't updated the Yelp page yet cause the reviews and experiences listed here from the previous ownership and before they closed down before Covid are not true anymore. It's not even the same place. So I'd suggest giving it a try. Place was packed and lively and there's enough room to social distance and practice safe socialization. We went in for dinner a bit early trying to beat the crowd. The weather was great so we asked if we could sit outside. My husband had to wipe off my chair, and I was still hesitant to sit as I didn't want to sit in other peoples crumbs and hair balls. Yes, hair balls on the seat. The table was filthy, and as we looked around I thought, do I really want to eat the food coming out of a kitchen that can't even clean up the seating area. This was the worst customer service experience that either myself or my husband have ever experienced! Let me start by saying that this was our second visit here. Our first visit was all right, thanks in part to awesome service from our server. However, our order was incorrect. My husband ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and it was served without the buffalo sauce. Mega fail! But our server was very sweet and resolved the issue with grace and in an appropriate way. Our visit today was just appalling! We were seated promptly, after having to pay a cover charge because there was a music festival happening. I'm still not sure how I feel about having to pay an entrance fee to have lunch at a restaurant... we ordered our first round of drinks which we received quickly and all was good. However, shortly thereafter, our server disappeared and we couldn't find her again to order another round. Eventually, my husband got up to find her and one of the other waitresses managed to get our server over to us. She'd disappeared to have her face painted, just FYI. We ordered our food and second round of drinks. When our food arrived, the order was incorrect again. I had ordered sweet potato fries instead of regular fries but my meal arrived with regular fries. The guy that delivered the food said he would sort it out. That didn't happen. Our server came back to check if everything was fine and we told her about the fries. She apologized and came back a little while later with the right fries (that were overdone and really oily, btw). We ate and requested the check and when we received the check, there was an up charge for the sweet potato fries. This was not mentioned on the menu or by the server. So we asked to see the manager. Eventually, about 15 minutes later, the manager came over. Turns out he was the guy that came up to us halfway through our meal to ask if everything was okay. He didn't introduce himself or say he was the manager. Nothing. Anyway, he wanted to know what the problem was so we gave him the rundown, to which his reply was, we got the fries eventually so what's the problem. He was rude and arrogant and full of excuses. He handled the situation poorly and continued to attempt to blame the problems we had experienced on us. As such, if you are looking for a good place to eat, with good music and a pleasant environment, do yourself a favor and go anywhere else but Boatyard Eats! read more

Wound up buying the 2 hot dogs for $8. Dogs were luke warm......I guess they just put them in hot water. Certainly not cooked!! Almost raw!! The bun must have been yesterdays left overs...slightly dry. Not cooked, warmed, buttered! Anything to make it palatable. BEVERAGE: Had a beer. $6 for a 8 oz. cup. Complained to manager and he said the supply company ran out of the "larger" cups and that was all he could get. Offered to give me another free beer on the house. However declined and just cut my loses. Maybe he should have sold the beers for $4 dah? SUMMARY: If you want to go someplace that is the pits, has pricey, lousy food, and pricey bud light, then this is the place for you. Had my first visit here last night and was so impressed! This place is a bar so it's not set up like a traditional restaurant and it isn't "full service". What's great is that there is plenty of expandable covered space, which means you can enjoy the entertainment without worrying about the weather. It wasn't packed when we arrived at 7:45PM so plenty of tables were available. All drinks are ordered at the bar. The bar was well-staffed, so the wait was short. Drinks prices were pretty standard--our mixed drinks were $9 each. Food was ordered at another station. It came out of the kitchen fast & was delivered to our table. We ordered the 2 protein plate (brisket & pulled pork) that came with 2 sides. The food was really priced at about 20 bucks. It was plenty of food for 2-3 people and very tasty! Staff came by fairly regularly to remove empty cups and plates. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. They have a really nice stage & plenty of dance space. It's a great place to go - fun and live music. Unfortunately the wait staff were completely inattentive. My only guess is that when the waitress saw we originally got drinks from the bar, she wrote us off the rest of night. Even after making eye contact and attempting to speak, we were completely ignored and everyone around us was served. Ended up having to go back to the bar every time all night. The bartenders were all awesome and prompt. The pizza was better until it changed to some flat previously frozen pizza shell with amusement park flavored sauce and cheese. The burgers and rest are meh. The waitstaff doesn't bus a table after you're done eating or empty drinks cups. The mixed drinks come in tiny glasses. When it's hot out, you need more than 3 sips.
