Was there today, not for the first time, to watch the World Cup Final. It was busy and service was as you would expect on such a busy time. My review is in relation to what I witnessed while there. Firstly there was a manager on duty there who had a bottle of beer in his hand the entire time we were there, but the worst of it was that I saw a customer who had an obvious disability stand beside the reception desk for a considerable length of time and was ignored by the receptionist, who I saw show people who were behind him to a table and totally ignore him, like he was invisible. That was bad enough but then the "manager" with beer in hand was standing beside him and did the same thing. It turned out he only wanted a milkshake which was finally served to him by a passing waitress. This is unacceptable behavior. I understand it was busy but this happened just after the game was over and people were leaving. You need to do better. read more

Arrived for lunch today. Had to wait a minute to be seated, but got a great seat inside right by the big screen showing a popular football match. The place looks like a pub, inside and out, with a huge patio in the rear. All the workers we encountered were really polite and personable. It was very clean inside, even the bathrooms. We pretty much knew what we wanted but enjoyed looking at the menu anyway. Started off with a 20 oz Black & Tan and a 16 oz Harps. So good. My husband had the Fish and Chips. Perfect fry, thick and flaky fish, served with a side of malt vinegar and tartar sauce. The slaw was crisp and savory and the fries crisp. He loved every bite. I had the Bangers and Mash. The sausage was tender with a delicious onion gravy. Some veggies were included (green beans, cauliflower and carrot). The mash itself was creamy and chunky, just the way I love it. Complete comfort food. We ended the meal by splitting a dish of Sticky Toffee Pudding. It was sweet and savoury, with a hint of salt to balance, topped with vanilla ice cream and more toffee sauce. (I haven't had a Sticky Toffee Pudding since I was a child and this was such a delicious treat to share.) The whole experience was exceptional and we cannot wait to go back. read more

Excellent, friendly service and good food! We called ahead on our way from a hockey game downtown and were told the wait was around 30 minutes. They, very kindly, offered to put us on the list while we were in-route! We arrived and were seated within minutes. Very cool of them to do that! Our waiter was very patient, friendly and explained the specials and menu items in detail. He made the dining a positive experience for sure! Potato bites were good. Whatever the shmear underneath was it could use some more of that! Bangers and mash were meh. Bland mash, overcooked bangers and not enough gravy. I was provided some extra gravy though. Fish and Chips were a big hit! Perfect cook and the batter was light, crisp and stuck to the fish well! Tartar was great. Slaw was on the boring side but unnecessary in the end. Everyone was friendly, a band was playing, the lights were dim, drinks were cold and the fish is good. If you live in the area I highly recommend checking it out! read more

We enjoy going to Harp and Crown. The food is pretty consistent and the service is always on point. It's small and cozy but also has a nice outdoor area. We especially love it when they have special events and live music. Great local spot! read more

Didn't give 5 stars due to frustration that this is the third time I've ordered the steak salad and not been able to cut through the steak. For a $20 salad, the steak should be tender, especially when I order it medium rare. Does not change our opinion of one of our favorite places, but just maybe it will help them correct this part of their menu. I don't like to be that person that sends things back. I'll probably just order something else next time. The salad itself is great, full of lots of good, fresh veggies, if they can improve the steak quality, then it's a win for everybody. read more

But unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the rest of the experience. I ordered the Shepherd's Pie. For $17, I was expecting something I'd want to come back for, but it was just mediocre. I also ordered the $11 pretzel, which came out wet and rubbery--clearly microwaved. I took one bite and sent it back. For an upscale Irish pub, I expected a lot more. Hidden in a shopping center in Catawba Ave is an Irish pub gem. As you walk to the door you encounter their patio and outdoor bar with tvs - a welcome site on a comfortable evening. Walk inside and you'll enjoy a seat at the bar, a table, or one of several booths. The highlight of the dinner was the Guinness Brisket Mac and Cheese. The beer and cheese mixed well and created a delicious sauce for the meal. My son said the grilled cheese was awesome. I grabbed a few of his fries which soaked up the right amount of oil while maintaining a good level of crispiness. The food was good and the service was attentive. There are also a lot of tables outside so if you don't want to sit at the bar. You can definitely get a table. While it is dog friendly, it's not overwhelming. Drinks are always good & the atmosphere is great. To start the night off I ordered a Scooby Snack from the full bar. It was great and made correctly. It came out promptly. Our server made food recommendations that were spot on. I ordered the Irish meatloaf. It was a fantastic choice. The meatloaf was paired with sautéed vegetables and served on mashed potatoes. The meatloaf is made of pork and beef and is perfectly cooked. It is topped with a braised Sherry cabbage cream sauce. The sauce is amazing. We also ordered a shepherd's pie. It was a huge portion of goodness. Both entrees were excellent. The place is clean. I took my dad and brother here on Friday night, and we had an absolutely fantastic time! The live music created such an energetic atmosphere that we couldn't resist getting up to dance. A friend selected this restaurant for lunch before heading out to do wine tasting. I must admit I was intrigued by the name, but then a little less enthused when looking at photos. I guess I expected more of an upscale interior. However, the reviews were awesome so I was onboard. We were seated outside on a sunny afternoon and thankfully our table was covered by an umbrella. I ordered a Sparkletini cocktail and was disappointed that I couldn't see glitter in my glass, unlike the one my friend received. Taste was good though. Most of the brunch items going past me looked amazing, so don't ask why I chose the bangers and mash instead. Curiosity I guess, because I've wanted to try it previously but never did. It was just ok. And I don't know that is due to any fault of the restaurant, it was more the combination of food. Overall I wasn't impressed, but I should have ordered the pancakes like I started to. Their patio is great with ample seating- lots of greenery and plants - a bustling bar with TVS for view anywhere you sit. We have always loved outdoor dining and right now it's the only way we dine "in" at a restaurant with Covid even though we are vaccinated. We just feel better outside. I had the meatloaf and it was good not the absolute best but good - the mashed tators were good as were the veggies. I didn't care for the cabbage or Sauerkraut not sure which it was trying to be but neither worked for me. Hubby had Cobb Salad with Salmon and liked it. Atmosphere has lost its Britishness. Food is average and not special. It is handy place for dinner when you can't think of anywhere you really want to go. The outside bar is fine if you can take the thousand degree heat. If you want to impress anyone with an impressive dining experience, this is "not" the place.
