I came in tonight to eat with my family. It was a horrible experience. The food was Luke warm on most of our dishes, 3 items were so cold my family couldn't eat it, we returned it. The server forgot some side items with some of the dinner plates. The server was nice but seemed new and overwhelmed. I don't think we will be returning. Sat down at the table and waited ten to fifteen minutes for a server to come over. Every table near us was covered in dirty plates and old food Food was about a 3.5 out of 10 at best. I ordered a water. And luckily my wife put a lemon in it then stirred it and there was a ton of what like like dirt at the bottom of the cup. I picked it up looking through the bottom and saw the entire bottom was covered in this dark unknown solid. Completely lost my appetite. Told the server and she blew it off. Said sorry and brought another one over. Sat it down and walked away. Manager never came by and apologized for the nasty crap I consumed because I already drank half of the glass of water. I figured okay since you pay up front they may make this right. Boy was I wrong. The manager acted like it was no big deal. He said sorry. Not offering to even take off even 10 percent which would have made me feel a little better. Complete and utter failure. I grew up on bob evans. This was a huge disappointment. Manager is a pansy. Let customer yell at 20 something waitress in front of a Sunday breakfast crowd because a hostess sat his family at a table the busser didn't properly clean. Refuse to sit us at a booth ever even when there are a lot free and sit us at a handicapped table instead for wheel chairs. No one in our party is disabled. Food sat on the window and was so cold you could pick up by the bottom of the iron skillet. Waitress simply said it's because you're sitting under a really cold a/c vent--as she's putting plates on the table!! We used to go every Sunday. But now the service has gone down and the prices have gone up will be finding an alternate establishment for Sunday brunch!! read more

I absolutely love Bob Evans. The food is amazing and it is all very reasonable. The server was also very friendly and she really made our visit enjoyable. The fresh bread is to die for and the selection of foods on the menu is perfect. The salad was perfect and my country-fried steak was made to perfection. Their gravy is also really tasty! The desserts are great and there is always different seasonal options. The portions are great for the price you pay as well. My only complaint was that the food came too fast and I was unable to eat my appetizers before my food came. It was a great visit and it is totally worth coming back to eat again! read more

We had heard that several of our friends would go to Bob Evans Restaurant, after church on Saturday nights. We had friends in for the week and so we went to church and decided to go after church to eat at Bob Evans, also. It was soooo good! The staff was so friendly and attended us so well! We (several of us) ordered the biscuits instead of the hot rolls. They were so light and thick and fluffy! They came out piping hot for us. The butter melted right in and they absolutely melted in your mouth. My husband ordered the dinner rolls to go with his meal and they were the same way. Hot, the butter melted right in, and they were delicious! We will definitely be going back to eat there! So good, clean restaurant, cheerful and courteous staff, good food and great prices! I have only lived in Cape Coral for about 2 weeks now and I have to say that we have been her on at least 3 different occassions at different times of the day. The wait staff has always been warm and friendly. And the place is clean and inviting. The food is always very good. I am surprised that there is another review that gives it such a bad review. i can't imagine why. This is a very good Bob Evans and I give kudos to the staff for such a smoothly run operation. Ordered two steak dinners ToGo a few nights ago. Picked them up, brought them home - wrong order. Went back. Explained what we had ordered, down to the dressings on the salad. They seemed confused and unhelpful. Then the woman at the desk says, oh, I think these two are your steaks, having been sitting there the whole time getting cold. Of course the sides were nowhere to be seen. Those finally got wrangled up, steak growing colder every second, and took them home. Baked potato cold, steak cold, salad had no dressing. Immediately called and requested to speak to Mgr. Mgr. apologized saying he would leave a gift certificate at the counter for us. Three days later went by, and guess what? No certificate, no one knew anything about it. Awful, uncaring, and terrible service and management is how I describe the whole episode. read more

Service- Our service was great! Ashley came by and took our orders, brought food and checked in on us about 10 times in 30 minutes. She was very pleasant and polite. Lost a point in this category though for goofing up our bread order. I would rate this category as a 4 of 5 points. Atmosphere- A very pleasant place to eat and enjoy some conversation. Temperature was just right and restaurant was very clean. Music was soothing and at the right nondistractive level. I would rate this category as a 5 of 5 points. Food- I ordered the Smokehouse Chicken Dinner and my wife had the open faced turkey. The chicken was probably the most flavorful smoked chicken I have ever tasted. It was absolutely succulent, hot and juicy, really melted in your mouth. The turkey was hot fresh and tasty. Reminded me of a home cooked meal. I would rate this category as a 5 of 5 points. Portions- My portion size was absolutely average. It was enough for one person and very little left over. My wife's portion was very generous and could have satisfied the appetites of two individuals. She definitely had a leftover box for her. I would rate this category as a 4 of 5 points. Value- Our bill came to about $27 including drinks. This falls within range of an average dinner for two but could have paid for three. I also used a 50% off coupon that took our bill to $22. Those two reasons earned it another point. I would rate this category as a 4 of 5 points. The point total for this review comes to 22. This comes out to a nearly perfect rating. Would definitely recommend a return visit. Suggestions- One thing that I would recommend is that the wait staff always write down the orders rather than relying on memory. Value- I consider value as how much food you get for the price. I think most average restaurants price a meal between $10 and $15. As an example, an average portioned meal for two people should run about $20 to $30. Average Joe Reviews uses a scoring system for each category which is then added to determine a final score. The ratings are on a scale from 1 to five for each category, 1 being the worst and 5 being the best. When points are totalled for each category, the final score shows as follows: 5 points = Worst. No review can be lower than this according to the scoring system but I may comment that it could be. No return visit would definitely be recommended. 6-10 points = Below average. No return visit would be recommended but would advise the customer to return as their personal preference dictates. 11-15 points = Average. Always a recommendation for a return visit. Our party of 3 has eaten at this Bob Evans 3-4 times a month for this past year and have had a pleasant experience every time. The food has been hot and tasty. The food is served as quickly as one could expect. Pricing on the food is reasonable. We will continue to frequent this Bob Evans! Went here to eat Sunday May 26 between races on tv. Wanted a booth but was taken to a table because I assume to keep it balanced for waiters. Took forever for anyone to come by and greet us and it happened to be a manager after like 10 mins waiting with it only under half full. Have been ther before so I knew this was not normal. finnally got orders in and served and Manager came by again to check min and told me she would comp our meal that day. I told her no that was not why I said anythnig in first place. I did decide for a change to get desert and she told our waitress to comp that so I did allow her to do that. We had a BOGO meal coupon so I was not out to get it all free. The manager was Great at trying to give us a free meal so what more could you expect and the food was great We all have a bad day once in a while only the 10 minute wait was bad waitress was Great also read more

Let me say that I love to Eat Breakfast at Bob Evans more than any other place. It never mattered to me which one as I have never been disappointed until a couple months ago. I actually sent a letter to corporate about my concerns with this Cape Coral one. My mother in law came for a visit and we decided one morning to go out for breakfast. Everyone in the restaurant was wonderful except our waitress. She was a woman in her early 50ies and briefly greeted us and poured our coffee; I noticed there was not milk for the coffee and asked for some. Our waitress disappeared for more that 10 minutes and never brought the milk. After asking 3 additional times I finally got up and looked around on other tables for some. She finally returned to take our order and disappeared again for another 15 minutes? She continued to disappear several more times and never brought us basic items we needed to eat our breakfast with. I finally decided to look around and see where this woman was hiding as there were only a few people eating in the restaurant at the time and I found her actually sitting at a table with a couple older gentlemen flirting? When we left we decided a tip of 10 cents was more than enough. As we paid our bill we told the person at the cash register how upset we were with our waitress and they looked shocked? Maybe they just could not see past the wall of items for sale into the restaurant to keep tabs on this poor excuse of a waitress....Needless to say; although corporate sent us a certificate for a free breakfast we used it at another Bob Evans Restaurant as not to have to deal with another bad exposure to this waitress.....I would like to mention that the bus boys were well aware of her antics. read more
