We had an impromptu lunch at Metro Diner today, before heading to a play at the theatre. It's pretty warm so we opted to eat inside. Carly was our lovely and attentive server. I had the Avocado Bacon Scramble Bowl. Perfect for a really hot day and covered with Hollandaise Sauce. Dave had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with onion rings. Both dishes were prepared fresh and hot. Consistency and quality service is what we love about Metro! One of the servers came by and said "Aren't you Freckles Parents?" Lol. I'm back for the second time in two days. The food here is that good. I was glad to see they are open on Mondays. I ordered a decaf coffee and this time I went with the Western omelette with salsa, rye toast, and hash browns. The omelette was huge and so good! The service is excellent! They are very personable. You can see they enjoy what they do. I am leaving Florida today but already have plans to return. I would highly recommend Metro Diner as a must stop for great food and great service. Metro Diner Continues to be a place to enjoy a great meal - The Pot-roast was off the charts (very good), the ribs were fall off the bone delicious, chicken strip meal my father loved and mom loved that she can get a delicious breakfast. Both my parents suffer with Alzheimer's and trying to find a place they both love is very hard. We had a lil snafu but Shane the Manager handled and recovered with the utmost care concern and professionalism. Victoria was our server and You Rocked It. Visiting from Michigan, big surprise there!! Thank God we ran across Metro Diner. For lunch. I had the Breakfast Burger and WOW, home run. Wish I had a photo, it was a work of art. 1/2 LB burger perfectly cooked, topped with crispy hash brown, perfectly cooked egg over easy and an incredible aioli sauce. If you don't get this, you're missing out big time. By friends had the biscuits and gravy with over easy eggs and loved it. This was the first time I've eaten here. We ordered take out, my husband picked up and said the place was really nice inside. I had the turkey dinner and it was really good. Nice portion of turkey, with stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry. I also got the green beans and they were so good, fresh crisp and not overcooked. I also got extra gravy, and I'm glad I did. My French toast was good & our server was great! This is probably my 4th time at this location & it's the second time I've had my food come out on dirty dishes. I hate to complain but outside of the dirty dishes why is the syrup dispenser also coming out with syrup all over it. I also had a fruit cup with shredded cheese all throughout it. We were too tired to cook and wanted better than bar food, and we definitely picked the right spot. Have you ever gone someplace where you just felt welcomed? That's how our server, Brooke, made us feel. She was smiling and laughing and made you feel like you were her best friend . She was friendly, efficient and always with a smile. My family has been going to Metro Diner for so many years. They moved here about 9 months ago and she and my dad made Metro their place to go. Mom always gets the Bissel breakfast and dad tries everything on the menu. They love it because the food is always fresh and the service is always quick. The staff ALWAYS goes out of their way to make sure that they are enjoying their food and always helps them get their usual corner . Mom is in hospital and I went there to take my dad for lunch today . Well after hearing that she was sick they did something special for my dad. We had a very nice breakfast at the Metro Diner. The food was excellent, and the service was very good. Very large portions and delicious. We were there on a holiday and it seemed that they might have been just a little short staffed but the staff was very nice and apologetic for the minor oversights and quick to correct the issue. I tried Metro for the first time. It was just ok for me. I got my water and gave my order. Waitress came by and left my check. That was the last time that I saw my waitress, until I was walking out. One of the hostess girls saw me waiting with empty plates and my credit card out and took it for me. I ordered the meat lovers omelette. The hash browns were greeeeeeeasy. I sopped up some of the grease with napkins. The omelette had plenty of meat, but was dry. I should have squeezed some of the hash brown grease on the omelette. The toast was as if they waved the bread over the toaster. Not a hint of being toasted. Too many great places around (Waffle House) so I won't be back. read more

I think this diner is basically good but on two occasions I experienced the same issue. The first time I assumed they were extremely busy. This morning I visited and the service was fine and our food came as ordered. My companion had the cinnamon waffle which she loved and the portion was large enough to take half home. My favorite is the classic Eggs Benedict. The problem that has happened on two occasions now is after it's prepared they put the plate under a heat lamp till the server picks it up. The problem is that heat lamp appears to be turning a soft boiled egg into an almost hard boiled egg. Eggs Benedict should be runny and not hard boiled which how it arrived at our booth. I'm not one who sends food back so I didn't complain. The restaurant is clean and pleasant but I think they need to properly prepare a soft boiled egg. read more

Don't order the strawberry cobbler, it is gross. Take strawberry topping for pancakes, sprinkle some pie crust on top, a scoop of ice cream on top, served in a hot oval dish on a circular plate, so that it is wobbly and hard to eat out of. Also, make sure to ask for refills, because it won't happen if you don't. Still, I'll go back because the food does taste great! read more

We've always driven past Metro diner and never thought much of it. We decided to give it a try after reading some reviews on Yelp and looking up their menu online. I have to be honest, I don't love breakfast, and so I tend never to order from the breakfast sections of diners regardless of what time it is. My family on the other hand loves breakfast, they could have it for lunch and dinner. I decided to order breakfast from here and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. First off the staff was super nice and attentive. The menu had a good assortment to tingle everyone's tasters buds. I ordered the BLT breakfast sandwich and it was delicious, I know it sounds weird but I also ordered a side of mashed potatoes and that was great! I wanted to try everything else that everyone ordered bc it looked so good. I ended up eating the pancake, it was the best pancake I had in a while. Will be coming back. read more

I've been to the one in Pembroke Pines (now closed) and was extremely disappointed, so when my niece recommended this one in Cape Coral I was skeptical. When we arrived we were seated immediately and the waitress was attentive but not overbearing. The food came out in a timely matter and every dish we had was great. My sister has the sausage gravy and biscuits, my niece had the cinnamon roll pancakes. Each dish that I tasted was delicious. I had the typical breakfast and the eggs were scrambled perfectly (you'd be surprised how many people can't scramble an egg ). The bacon was nice and crunchy but not over cooked. Good service is hard to come by these days. Everyone seems to be understaffed. We lower our expectations but sometimes we're still disappointed. I like the Metro Diner in my area so I thought I'd try the one here while I was out here for work. I was greeted when I arrived. I was told I could sit wherever in one section. The first table I chose wasn't clean. I chose a second table. It was relatively clean, cleaner than the first table but not perfect. I get it. Food, drinks, syrup and other condiments... It's easy to miss a couple of spots. There was a special going on. I was tempted to have a lunch special but I decided on breakfast. My server told me it would be okay to take a lunch special to go. Perfect. I ordered breakfast. Typical stuff. I was given grits in a container that looked dirty. It may have just been something burnt that rubbed off. And my toast was burnt. I had to send the grits and toast back. The food was just okay. Not very good. The texture of the pancakes was bad. I'm used to being able to cut through pancakes with just a fork. I couldn't. And the texture wasn't great either. It's like I went to a diner and got frozen microwave pancakes or something. I'm sure they weren't but they were bad. The replacement toast and grits were good. Eggs and sausage(turkey) okay. The service was not good. Folks were scrambling from the kitchen to the dining area and back. My server wasn't a good listener. Not listening, just waiting to talk. Maybe she was newer. Maybe she'll get better. She was definitely in need of a little help. Like I said, they're understaffed, at least when I was there. I changed my mind about the lunch special carry out. It wasn't worth the risk. I think I'll pass on this location in the future. If I were with a group and everyone wanted to go, I'd go. Otherwise I'd be very reluctant. Metro Diner always has the potential to provide a good experience and good value. It was just a miss on this visit. read more

These locations are part of a chain and the food is not prepared fresh. Most of the menu items do not allow for substitutions making it apparently obviously that the meals come pre-prepared in a freezer bag. Service was sub-par and the food took way too long to come out even though we were 1 of 7 tables there. If you want someone else to do your cooking, go elsewhere. Went here for lunch with a friend and had a great meal! Very clean and modern looking diner, we were cheerfully greeted when we walked in and she let us pick a table. We sat, were given menus and told the specials, and ordered drinks. I ended up having one of the specials of the day, the Buffalo Chicken Salad, with a cup of Shrimp & Corn Chowder soup. My dining partner ordered the Pot Roast. The soup came quickly, it was warm and creamy, but I thought it lacked a little on the shrimp. My salad came and it, on the other hand, was spectacular! A large portion of greens with these crispy crunchy chunks of tender chicken slathered in a spicy, but not overbearing Buffalo Wing hot sauce, and a side of homemade Bleu Cheese dressing. Plus the salad had these cracker-like croutons which were crunchy and delicious! My partner's dish looked good as well, he seemed happy with the way it turned out, and his portion was very generous as well. Our server was friendly and available without being overbearing, and she kept our drinks full. Manager was awesome! I ordered the fried chicken and waffles through uber eats. I got my bag unstapled, and my chicken was missing. I called the diner and they told me that they had put the chicken in the bag and stapled it because it couldn't stay at the restaurant, so my uber driver took the staples out and stole my fried chicken. The restaurant gave me a refund and an entire new order free of charge, their customer service was amazing as well. Thanks to the manager and the wonderful woman who answered the phone. This place was a fun spot to start your day. We had a "spunky" waitress which made the meal an adventure. I ordered the meat lovers omelet. Plenty of toppings on the inside and used real bacon but cut up links for the sausage. Plenty of hashbrowns but if you like them golden brown you better as them to leave them on the griddle a while longer. Service was fast and the prices were reasonable. Fun wall art too. read more
