I do not recommend this place, at all. The food was underwhelming. The server was overwhelmed, audibly asking for help, and no one seemed to care. My food was either ordered wrong or came out wrong, which I didn't complain about. My husband and I swapped eggs, since they were on the wrong plates, and we didn't complain. My hashbrowns were barely cooked on one side and thrown upside down on the plate to hide the remaining raw potato product. My husband was eventually able to get the busy servers attention. She took my hashbrowns and put my rubber, over easy eggs and cold, slightly reheated, cooked 2 days ago bacon back on the table. After waiting for my re"cooked" hashbrowns, everything else was beyond cold and like rubber. I asked the server to take everything off but the pancakes, since that was the only thing I would be eating. I still ended up paying over $10 for shitty pancakes that were missing the only ingredient I asked for. I brought them home, doctored them up, and ate 1. They were dry as hell by then. After waiting another 10 minutes for a check, we paid out and left. We spent $40 and I ate one bite of bacon and a pancake (eventually). My husband ate 2 cold, over hard eggs and 2 pieces of bacon. $40 for what I could made at home...The service and experience definitely did not justify the price. To make things sit even worse, on the way out there were 5-6 older employees standing around trying to figure out some menial thing. Obviously the server was swamped and asking for help, but no one offered. If someone would have helped her, it probably would have improved the experience for a lot of customers. read more

Food is darn good here and the service is pleasant, accommodating and friendly. Breakfast is available all day long, because sometimes you just want eggs and sausage for supper. I was a little let down by the hotcakes though, they were big but not fluffy. I will give them another chance as I do plan to return. Much more than breakfast or sandwiches here - they've got a lot of tasty options including a delectable, soft and comforting pot roast as well as turkey dinner (latter might be seasonal, I'm not sure). Kind of like a small diner menu, minus any alcohol options. Several months back we had two occasions where we were unhappy to be told there would be a FIFTEEN minute wait for a table. Both times we walked out, as this is not the kind of cuisine I'm willing to sit and wait to be seated for. However have visited recently at least three times and they seem to have gotten past that staffing issue. It's a clean and fun place. We arrived at 10:30 am on Saturday we waited a 1/2 hour to get seated. They took our order at 11:10. We left at 11:45 do to we still had not gotten our food. Will not be coming back again. Stopped here last Saturday morning. Although the restaurant was only about 30% occupied, we had to wait for about 15 minutes for a table. We reviewed the breakfast menu and we made choices. Do not let the attractive pictures on the menu mislead you: The food was bland, burnt and totally unattractive. My wife's breakfast was supposed to have fresh fruit with it, and it never appeared. My breakfast was to have pancakes or french toast with it, which was never presented. the eggs were tasteless and the toast was barely browned. No jelly or preserves were present on the table, except for the uncleaned spot I found under my sleeve. All in all, a terrible experience My father in law was a friend of Bob Evans, and if he saw the present state of these restaurants, he would've called Bob himself. I know times change, but to take a chain of classically great restaurants and turn them into a barely passable greasy spoon is sad. Needless to say, we won't be back Clean up your act!! read more

I use to enjoy coming here as a kid but the food quality is not good anymore. Even for the palate of Eaton Ohio this scores low. The restaurant is usually quiet and the service is ok. The farm house scenery goes well with the food, both bland and ghastly. Unfortunately, I cannot give this as a recommendation. Better go to the Eaton Place. read more

This has consistently been the worst Bob Evans in the entire chain since about 3 months after it opened. A chain restaurant is supposed to have a system for everything, and clearly Bob Evans does because the other locations tend to be pretty decent. However, the Eaton Bob Evans has a distinction of having to hire from the local talent pool. And I'm not quite sure there are enough people in the town who could retain training without having to go through a weekly refresher on basic customer service skills. Hence, the abysmal service and apathetic work performance in the place. I just stopped going. Same story over and over. Wrong orders... hastily prepared food even when the place is empty. Servers who can't manage to remember any request... too busy blabbing and carrying on. Combine low end talent pool with bad management and you get Eaton Bob Evans. But they will survive because the population demographics of Eaton skews very old, and old people don't have to be anywhere and they can't taste anything anyway. read more

I am currently the only patron in the restaurant and the server is a young blonde girl who is more concerned with gossiping about her friends with the other girls. My order was taken by someone leaving and I was never asked how I wanted my steak cooked. When I was asked if I needed anything else, I said no Thank You and she asked me if I was sure. After just paying 200 dollars at the Marriott for a room I would have liked to think a customer could walk into this restaurant and be treated better. Yes, they went down hill but have really up their game. In the last few months they have really taken hold. We had stopped going there for the reasons posted but tried them again and haven't been disappointed in the last several visits. We were there tonight and treated wonderfully. I ordered the potato encrusted fish and it was on the same plate as the green beans which had a lot of juice that had made the fish covering soggy. They immediately replaced it with Salmon and gave me so much more to take home. Everything else was really good. The waitresses were hopping to it the whole time we were there. The place was clean, friendly and enjoyable. As I have stated, they have really uped their game. Kudos to the manager who worked hard right along with the rest of the staff. read more

*sigh* So I love bob Evans for a quick and easy food when my fiancé and I feel lazy, but this location in eaton is downright horrible. On our first visit, we walked in to a restaurant empty other than staff and about five various tables of people. We were greeted--3 times--and seated about 15 minutes later to a booth that had just been cleaned...in a restaurant that had had multiple tables and booths already clean! Hungry, and willing to pass the already dismal service, we sat down and ordered. While waiting for our meal to arrive, we noticed an empty, dirty, coffee cup on our table. At this point, we decided to experiment: how long would it take someone to pick it up or acknowledge it? We set it on the edge of our table and waited. Our waitress passed six times. We then received our food. But wait! There was no silverware! We asked for silverware. Still, the cup sat. Finally, when our silverware arrived, I asked for the cup to be taken care of. The waitress said, "oh of course! Did you have decaf?" Ready to walk out and try again, maybe at the local McDonald's, I replied that it wasn't ours and that it had been on our table since we arrived. Her response? "Sorry, I guess [other waitress name] messed up." We started eating, and my fiancé commented his potatoes were cold. My food wasn't particularly great, but at least it went the full time in the microwave. Needless to say, we hurried up and ate, just to get out of there. I feel bad leaving no tip, because I think it's rude, but after the lack of service, we really needed to make a point, as neither of us is the type to make a to-do about service in public. For some reason, my fiancé convinced me to go a second time, about two weeks later (the date this review was posted). We were seated immediately by the hostess who said "we have a booth, if you want that, guess." The restaurant was much more full since it was a Sunday morning, so we were surprised to have no wait. We ordered our food and drinks, and then waited. A family was seated behind us, ordered, and received their food. We waited. Several passes later our waitress passed us and said "I'll go check on your food." And we waited. She came back and asked if I wanted a refill on my coffee. Still no food. Finally, after being in the restaurant for around 45 Minutes, we received our food. Hasbrowns burnt to a crisp, bacon either soggy or crunchy, meaning it was cooked at different times, we ate and left about 15 minutes later. At least this time we left about 15 minutes later. It's obvious that the only reason this location is still open is because old people must not notice the lengthy wait time, and there's no other breakfast option on a Sunday except Frisch's. I give it maybe another year or two tops before IHOP or Cracker Barrel swoops in with slightly better service and runs this place out of town. read more

Her hair was greasy and the stinch coming off of her was enough to make your stomach turn. She said how many? Not hello welcome to Bob Evan's. We told her two and she responded with my manager told me not to seat anyone else because we only have one server so it will be 10-15 minutes minimum. We left. I've noticed that all the reviews for this Bob Evans are really old. This place has changed and while not perfect, it is nowhere near one star food. It's hard to believe I hear someone saying they want to hit s waitress for being too nice. Every server I've talked to was genuinely nice save for maybe one that faked it. Went here on a busy Saturday morning for a late breakfast. We were seated right away but it was nearly an hour before we actually had food in front of us. Their pancakes are good but not nearly as awesome as Cracker Barrel's. I can't say much for the rest of their food. Most of it was cold and bland and just "meh". My husband really likes their sausage biscuit sandwich with cheese. It's not even on the menu so two stars for them accomodating his request. Their coffee isn't very good either. Asked three times if air conditioning could be either turned down or off, blowing cold air was not very comfortable. This is the first restaurant review I've ever written. This was the absolute worst Bob Evans I have ever visited. We were there on a Thursday at 5:29pm. Here's how our visit went: We came in to be seated, and no one was waiting in front of us. We were asked if a table was ok because all their booths were dirty. My mom asked for a booth and we waited for them to clean one (I counted 9 dirty booths on my way to ours). We got our drinks. I had to get up and ask for silverware so my mom could stir her coffee. We ordered our meal, which was a 3 course combo. We both got the broasted chicken. Salads and breads came out in a reasonable amount of time. We were told our chicken would be a little longer and said ok. Waiting......waiting....it has now been 45 minutes since we were seated. Another 10 minutes (and another apology) later our food comes. We were never asked how our food was. I was asked if I wanted more water and said I did, and we were told our desserts were already put in. The water I got was room temp (my ice had melted and she used a pitcher with no ice to fill it) and after we had been there a total of 1 hour and 20 minutes we got up to pay our bill, without dessert. At that point we just wanted to go. We were traveling and still had 2 hours before we got home. At the register, my mother was very honest about our experience and the girl's defense was that they were busy. No, they were not. Less than 1/3 of their tables were occupied. I asked her what the heck they did on Sunday mornings when they were actually busy. And she asked if we wanted to speak with the manager, but I told her since the manager didn't bother to talk to us in the near hour we waited for food, there was no point. We left. We travel this route each year and will now joke about how bad our service was here and how we will never go back. read more

Rhonda the manager wound up taking our orders with the worst attempt at an apology to ever happen. It than took another 40 mins to get our food. This place has really gone downhill. The servers talk to you once and then go missing. As I'm sitting here the servers are on the grill line, talking to the cook and they are completely ignoring me. Don't understand why the ratings are so low on here. According to Google reviews, there is a 3.8 star rating which is more similar to the experience I had here. My husband and I ate here on our way home from our weekend camping trip at the Hueston Woods State Park. We stopped in at about 11:30 A.M. for brunch. The service was great. We were seated immediately (no wait and not busy). Our waiter was a little nervous but none-the-less very nice, kind and knowledgable about the menu. My husband ordered the Cinnamon Supreme Sweet & Stacked Pancakes from the breakfast menu. They were cooked perfectly, not too gooey in the center but moist and tasted just like a pillsbury cinnamon roll. The plate presentation was very nice and meticulous too! Not just carelessly slapped onto the plate like some other Bob Evans Restaurants do. I ordered from the lunch pick-two menu getting a cup of Chicken-N-Noodles Soup and the half Turkey Bacon Melt. I subbed the American cheese for Swiss cheese and the sourdough bread for wheat bread with no problem. Again, my order was nicely put together on the plate and perfectly portioned (not sloppily thrown together on the plate). Our waiter checked up on us regularly to make sure we were satisfied. We had a good experience here and the food was delicious unlike some other Bob Evans Restaurants we have been to. 5/5 stars! read more

Sometimes the food is pretty good, especially the breakfast food, some seems like the frozen food they sell at the store that was just reheated! Most people I know however refuse to eat here anymore as the service is the worst any of us have ever had! Most of the workers including the manager is always standing around talking, the wait for food is horrible! The last time I went in there I ordered the new pancake battered shrimp and the brown sugar bacon app. The waiter (who looked like a teenager) took my order and brought my food when it came out after what seemed like forever and I asked him where my bacon was, it was an app it should have been brought out before my dinner.....he said oh I'll be right back and then I heard him snidely ask the manager if they had any bacon back there and she said I don't think we do, he then goes back there and brings me a few pieces and proceeded to tell me that they only had a half order and would have to make more as it comes with 6 pieces...he said I will bring out a new order as soon as it gets done and you won't be charged I said ok and ate my food which was actually pretty good but a tad bitter. I sat and waited FOR EVER for him to bring out the rest of my bacon and it never showed up! After he brought my food he asked one time like 5 minutes after he brought it if everything was ok and then I never saw him again. I think he gave me the check with my food. Being an ex waitress myself I know what good service is and you need to constantly check on your tables to see if they need anything like a refill etc, and he never did that. I had to walk up to the front desk to ask for a box to take my leftovers home, that was aggravating as I had my son with me and I was afraid he might clear my table and throw my food away if I got up to get a box, luckily he didn't and I got my leftovers, paid and left. He also blamed the fact I didn't get my app on the fact that they just got a new computer system that day, lol sorry no you obviously didn't write it down or put it in the computer not the computers fault kid. I have been there 3 times over the past two years. The experience is the same, bad service. Most recent visit: We were sat fairly promptly. 15 minutes later the waitress came to the table first time. Now, this was 7 pm on a weeknight. The dining room was less than 1/3 full. We counted 8 tables had customers. There were 4 waitresses. 17 minutes later we flagged downs a manager and asked for our drinks. A few minutes after the manager brought our drinks, the waitress brought the biscuits and informed us that they were out of something. This is more than 30 minutes after placing the order. At the 50 minute mark we got our food. The food was warm and correct. But the service was horrendous. Neither the waitress nor the manager ever said sorry, seemed concerned or even realized how slow the service was. Unfortunately this is not a one time event, as each time I have been there it has been the same. I emailed Bob Evans, I got the basic automatic response that I would hear from someone. 4 days later, I have not. read more
