There is nothing about this place to recommend. Lackluster food and service on a good day. It goes down from there.

They are good with stuff they make in house but really bad with reheated frozen food, which is almost all of the sides (my onion rings were not warm either and nothing to write about and I live onion rings. The waiters story about the raffle to raise funds to stay open had us wondering why they had no funds for a $12,000 bill they received that they couldn't pay! Hmmmmm

That After flagging down a waiter, it seemed like things were looking up. Another hour goes by before we get our food. We were all tired and ready to eat before we got here, but were willing to keep giving this place a shot. Our food finally comes out, and the food is... okay. Definitely not worth the wait in any capacity. The waiter was charismatic while he was there, though, and the music outside was nice. However, not worth it at all.

The fries, onion rings, and mozzarella sticks were all cold.. My blue frozen Fanta drink was good, and the pie was delicious and well priced. They sounded friendly when I called up to report that my sandwich had no bacon- and said they would remake the sandwich. I'll stop back in-but it's such a hassle to not get what you order the first time-especially when most of what you get that is actually right is cold and therefore not very appetizing. There was no one in the drive through.. and the overall ambience was ok. I would be back if I knew that they'd make it fresh.. but that's not a guarantee and I'm tired of feeling like I'm throwing my money away for food that isn't fresh.

It pulls away, and we are still waiting. Finally a rather disinterested female employee voice comes over the microphone and tells us to look at the menu because she'll be a few more minutes. We've been sitting there about 7 minutes at this point. We don't need to keep looking at the menu. At the 10 minute mark we leave the drive through and park in the lot to order inside instead. We go in, and the same disinterested female employee is behind the counter. She shuffles her way verrrrrry slowly to the register & looks right at us. We figured she's finally gonna take our order. Nope. She whips out her cellphone and starts texting someone right in front of us as if we aren't even standing there. We walked out. We won't be back.

We started with the sauer kraut balls, pretzel with beer cheese, and pickle fries. All were delicious! The pickle fries have a great pickle to breading ratio, will gladly order these again! Some of the booths are German style, giving you a European feel. Madison, our server, was friendly and attentive. The servers know the regulars by name and welcome them warmly. We sat in a booth near the kitchen and could hear a lot of laughter coming from the cooks in the back. The place is jovial. We ordered the Chicken Dinner for Two ($32) which includes about 10 pieces of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and choice of salad or slaw. This was a massive amount of food and could easily feed a family of four. The coleslaw was delicious, the best I've had in a while. The slaw was creamy and tart (not too sweet). The hand-breaded chicken is a winner in my book. The breading is crispy with lots of seasoning, especially pepper. The chicken is hot, moist and tender - perfectly cooked. This is some of the best fried chicken in the State. The potatoes and gravy are an indulgent treat for me. Yes, I had seconds. The green beans are cooked with bacon, yet light. My husband really liked the beans. We took half the meal home for dinner. The menu is German- themed, combined with traditional Hoosier classics. The Tenderlojn sandwich they serve put them on Indiana's Tenderloin Trail. I wanted to try the sauerkraut balls and pretzels, but I was too full. There is free street parking. There are tv monitors to watch the games at the small ball. Brau Haus is totally worth a visit.

The dinning room is nice, low light and low music playing. It seemed to get a little smokey in there but it wasn't bothersome. Our server was so lovely! And another lady that was floating around checking on tables was very sweet and fun! We really struggled with our ordering and "locking it in"...therefore we ended up ordering what felt like half the menu. For appetizers, we got calamari and the baked crab dip. The calamari was pretty light and delicious. The crab dip was heavy and but had a great flavor. I wasn't a huge fan of the chips but it was great with the bread that came to our table. The bread basket came out steaming and the butter was amazing we had to ask for extra. The butter is whipped and has green onions in it. Hubby and daughter each got clam chowder--it was different from what they are used to (and they are both clam chowder connoisseurs) but they still thought it was very good--just thinner and a lot more meaty ingredients. Daughter loved the halibut with risotto. Hubby really enjoyed the boathouse burger--bacon jam was new for him but he loved it. Though the burger was messy--he definitely cleaned the plate. My seafood platter was pretty good, I ate the scallops and coconut shrimp first. Then came our next dilemma...dessert!! So we each got one! Crème Brûlée, Highlander Grogg Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet. Everything was a hit!!
