We've dined here numerous times and enjoyed them all. Burgers and fries and a variety of pizzas of course, but menu is surprisingly extensive for a small town, down home pub. In the evening, the lights are low. The atmosphere screams country comfort, and you can't miss that train a-comin' since the establishment is just feet from the tracks. Red mule images abound, and there's a genuine harness horse sulky surmounted atop the bar, forming a sort of archway where you step up to get your tab. You enter the bar through a wooden sliding door from the vestibule. The bar seats about a dozen, and there are about five booths plus some tables. They do a lot with somewhat limited space. Portions are just right- not huge. Among the many thing we've enjoyed here are the Philly cheesesteak sandwich, burgers of course, excellent grilled chicken salad (love their homemade dressings), grilled pork tenderloin (get it medium with some pink inside), as well as the Mexican platters and the filet mignon. And they have the tastiest coleslaw I've ever encountered. Barmaids/servers are super friendly and make you feel at home. We really like the Red Mule and plan to keep coming back. Just follow the red horseshoe prints and I'll see you there.

Red Mule is the definition of a hole in the wall in the absolute best way. This place hasn't changed in the 20 years I've been eating there, except for the addition of the outdoor patio. My go-to order is the Combination Burrito and Potato Skins, which seems like a weird duo, but with the red sauce slathered over both it's a match made in heaven. The Auk is named after my dad's boss, Aukerman, which really cements the hometown feel and why this place will always hold a special place in my heart.

I love this place. Best hamburger I ever had. I asked the cook why the burger is so good and he said: "well, I have been cooking steaks in that same spot for many years . . ." I am also a sweet tea snob. Theirs is VERY good. You can tell the cook takes pride in what he is turning out. Always neatly presented with an attention to detail. Taco salad is also really good. If you're wanting to eat with your family, then go during the week or maybe lunch during the weekend. The place is wall-to-wall with fun-loving folks getting their drink-on late on Friday and Saturday ni

Stopped in and got the lunch special at the mule the other day. Special was a Bacon cheeseburger with smoked mayonnaise and fries. The burger was really good and had great flavor. The fries were okay but the portion size was quite small. But overall not a bad lunch special for $6.99.

There were a lot of offerings on the buffet - something to please everyone. Hubby doesn't care much for Asian food & even he found plenty of things to eat, i.e. mac n cheese, salmon, bbq chicken, green beans, buffalo wings, garlic bread, sweet donuts & more. The quality was pretty good & the service was great. We would definitely eat here again.

It did start out great, but they pretty quickly pulled some of the best items. They replaced egg tarts with....slices of garlic bread?? There are too many non-Chinese items, and the rest never vary. Exact same stuff every day. One offering is pork with mushrooms which is about 90 percent mushrooms in the gravy. It is rarely replenished as it looks full, but there is no meat left. And there's never an actual wonton in the wonton soup, just sad shredded pieces of the dough. You can eat your fill of course on eggrolls, crabless Rangoons, Chinese donuts etc., all of which are great but not exactly a balanced diet. Now the staff here continue to be the nicest, sweetest folks you could hope for. On menu items, they do a fine job on Mongolian Beef and the Egg Foo Young is pretty consistent. Don't expect to be wowed, though they're still the best Chinese restaurant in Preble County. Oh, right....

The order taker, realizing it was my first time, was helpful in answering questions and went through all the veggies for me to choose to include or leave off. Had the sub cut in half and brought it home to share with my husband. We both loved it, great taste and texture, awesome fresh roll and really satisfying. He was amazed at how pleased he was with only veggies and cheese. The menu looks really tasty and plan to stop back possibly as soon as tomorrow to try the Reuben, BLT or Philly Cheesesteak sub.
