I was enticed here for the summer berry salad, prominently promoted by this establishment then was informed the item was discontinued - they had run out if strawberries. Second choice was the chili sausage soup. That item had also been discontinued. I had my third choice, steak tips. They were mediocre at best, served lukewarm. For sides i ordered broccoli which was served cold & mac-and-cheese (stone cold). Good thing the meal was $15. Guess you get what you pay for. Should have complained. Husband and I stayed in Fayetteville, WV overnight and it was late. We were very hungry but the usual places we like were closed. I have to say, at first, I was hesitant because the Bob Evans near my home isn't great. To my surprise, we had a nice meal, along with nice service. We were looking forward to Bob Evans since we have none where we live. We ordered and food came 45 minutes later. We were very disappointed that when it arrived it was lukewarm to cold. The taste was there but cold steak tips, chicken, eggs would have been so much better hot. The plates were warm so I could only assume they sat on warming tray so food on top got cold. Manager was nice and gave us ten percent off. We could have sent good back but had an appointment we couldn't wait another 45 minutes. read more

We were traveling through the area and stopped for dinner. The hostess walked over picked up menus and walked off. We were wondering if we should follow her as we were the only guest? We stopped here for a bite and were warmly greeted and quickly seated. We tried the "Blue Ribbon Bacon" on the "Shareable" menu which lived up to it's name although a little less syrup would've been good...it pooled in the bottom of the basket. For entrees, we ordered soup, which arrived with freshly baked, warm rolls; the "Honey Butter Chicken & Biscuits" - 2 large chicken breasts that were delicious, crispy & very tender; as well as "Slow-roasted Turkey" dinner - plentiful and good flavor. Server was polite, however she didn't remove our dirty dishes from the table when delivering the next course of food, even though we placed them on the edge of the table. This is an okay breakfast joint located in the Smokey Mountains of West Virginia. First of all, I had a take a wiz; the bathroom was clean but the floors were sticky. While on our road trip from Ohio back to FL, we stopped here for a warm hot dinner meal. I ordered the turkey dinner with mashed potatoes and chicken gravy, carrots and cranberry. My wife ordered the beef stew, mashed potatoes and rolls. I also ordered 2 slices of blueberry bread and 2 slices of Banana bread. It's was all mighty fine and tasty. We loved our meals. Back in VA State near Fairfax City and also in Maryland State we had bob Evans when living there before and it used to be good and went down hill with the taste of food and quality. Then we moved to FL. We have not had Bob Evans in a while. Finally just yesterday night. We decided to get it while on the road instead of fast food. We wanted a hot meal. So we decided to give it a try. And what a great decision we made. Staff and employees were very friendly. And service was excellent even though we got Togo. We ate in our truck in Parking lot. Because once we were done we hit the road again. Didn't want to sit at a table and take to long. So anyway back to the food. It was all just excellent, who ever is the cooks back there need a raise and to stay there. Food was amazing outstanding and excellent. They made that food with Love. Haha. Cuz they love what they do. U could taste the deliciousness. Way to go Bob Evans at this location. You got a A+, and 100% from me. You all have earned it. Awesome job. A good breakfast experience at a reasonable price! Staff members were attentive and my coffee cup was kept close to full. The restaurant was certainly jumping but the staff seemed very coordinated and pleasant. Our waitress was friendly without being overly invasive and she was pretty consistent with checking up on us to see if we needed anything. I ordered the Ham Biscuit Benedict and was caught off guard when I was told that the kitchen staff couldn't poach the eggs, which is how I usually cook them myself. The menu said "cooked to order" and poaching isn't too time-consuming or difficult and doesn't require anything special to do, so I'm not sure why this option wasn't available. The waitress suggested that they could be broiled, so I went with that route. Unfortunately, the eggs leaned a little more toward under-cooked than I expected ("runny" and not just referring to the yolk) but I gave them a shot and, texture issues aside, had a flavorful experience. The Hollandaise sauce was spot-on and the biscuits were flavorful and fluffy, not too moist or dry. If the eggs were poached (or closer to those expectations), my rating would have been one star higher. The home fries were seasoned nicely and the side of fruit was a nice, healthy option to balance the meal out. The coffee was great - a major plus in breakfast joints! Next time I'm in the area, I'll be sure to give them another shot, though I'm likely to pass on the benedict. read more

I placed an order on Mother's Day very . The dinner rolls were rocks the whole hog breakfast cold eggs looked like they were cooked on a filthy flattop and black and flat as a crepe. Definitely not hello and fluffy. $62 not well spent and what the hell did I top for ? The server should be your eyes and make sure things are right . Two bags one should hav3 held hot items one cold oh ..... wait it was all cold. Quality was definitely not on any one's mind . Sent email about this visit not even a response. 3.5 for very good service It's a Bob Evans, so you know what you're going to get. Potato chip nachos are reeeeeaaallly good. We ordered them as a simple appetizer but were quite impressed with them. Homemade chips, with queso and some chunky veggies, yummy. He had an omelette which he liked quite well, I had the broasted chicken tenders which were plump and juicy. This was my first visit to a Bob Evans. I don't think I'll be returning. Our server was very friendly, but the food was close to inedible. Granted, I ordered what must have been several thousand calories contained in a "Grilled Cheese" sandwich, but objectively, this meal really should not be consumed by anyone. Side salad was refrigerator-cold iceberg lettuce with mealy cherry tomatoes and red onion. Potato wedges were OK, but were clearly packaged months ago and frozen until that day. Is it truly that difficult to make fresh, healthy food? read more

Usually when I go here I rarely have an issue but my past visit was not so great. The server gave us straws off a table that was clearly dirty instead of out of her pouch. The table was sticky and when I took a dry napkin to it it was black. Very dirty. The food was very good though, so thats why I gave them three stars. Food is pretty generic but could be acceptable. The service however is extremely poor. It took over 10 minutes for a hostess to even acknowledge my family. I took another 10 to be seated even though there was plant of clean and open tables. After being seated it took another 10 minutes before we could even place our drink order. The only redeeming quality was that our server once she finally got to us did try her best to do well. I believe the issues probably stem from staffing and management issues. read more

For a restaurant that had maybe 6 tables sat...this place has SLOW service! We had breakfast which is hard to screw up and it took almost 25 min. My "over medium" eggs were close to hard cooked. Absolutely pathetic service from a usually reliable place to eat. Maybe only 5 people seated eating when we arrived and it took over an hour for our food to arrive after ordering. Sat for 45 minutes without a refill on a Coke. The waitress kept coming out to verify what was ordered and by whom it was ordered. But when the food arrived half of the entire order was incorrect. The food that was correct was lukewarm at best. We were a rather large party (7 adults and 5 kids) and I could actually understand some of the problems if they were busy but since it was relatively slow I can't excuse this horrible service. The only bright spot on an otherwise disappointing lunch was that the manager did comp the meal. I didn't even want the entire meal comped. First time in years that I have complained about bad service because there has usually been a bright spot to it (either the food was good or if food was bad the service was good). read more
