My sister and I both ordered biscuits and gravy with hash browns. She ordered coffee and OJ for each of us and that doubled the bill to $33+! I think that, when I'm paying the bill next time, I will make sure that this doesn't happen. And I doubt that if she were paying the bill, it certainly would not have been ordered. Against our better judgment, we decided to give this place another try at the end of a crazy day when we were exhausted and hadn't eaten at all. The result: Stale dry dinner rolls and biscuits which had obviously been sitting quite a while until hard. Inedible pieces of chicken with rubbery skin coated in batter. Onion in the green beans was still raw. Strawberry pie with five pieces of berry and mostly whipped cream - I estimate about a cup and a half of whipped cream and crust. Chocolate cake that originally had the ice cream on it (take out order) and the ice cream had been removed but not before it had melted substantially and made the cake soggy. Let's just say the price to portion is pretty bad. I got eggs, sausage, hash browns and toast, which were fine, but the amount of hash browns was ridiculous. I will call them the 3-bite hash browns, because that is all you get. I checked with the staff if the size of this portion was correct, and they said yes, we have cut back lately. Last time I checked, potatoes are the cheapest part of the meal, but they had to cut back here, for real.... Our waitress Kimmi was phenomenal!! I watched her help a customer safely transfer from his seat to his forearm walker and then get reseated. Any time anything was wrong she fixed it right away. Easter Brunch... my husband treated me to a anticipated good meal at Bob Evens in Gaylord. We have a long and wonderful repore with this establishment. But the waitress we got was totally off. First, I ordered a bowel of cottage cheese and she put my menus in front of me, told me to order off it (Bob Evens doesn't have cottage cheese- she said they have never had cottage cheese!) So, I ordered the chicken honey biscuit off the menu. Didn't want all that stuff...but I had it. She brought my coffee, didn't bring my husband any. Finally got the attention of the hostess who told the waitress to bring coffee to my husband. I needed a refill by that time. Had to ask constantly for creamer. What's wrong with this woman? We were saying grace, with heads bowed and eyes closed she clangs a bottle of A1 sauce onto the table. We had to bed for coffee refills and creamer. She was rude and incompetent. Stopped by for a quick, early dinner. Only about 1/4 full of customers, fully staffed... All we kept hearing was apologies. Burger and fries sat in window for 5 minutes,with servers walking past. Driving up to Michigan from Ohio, and stopped by this Bob Evans for the quintessential Midwestern meal. Country fried steak. Mmm. It took me almost a year to realize that there were no Bob Evans restaurants in Boston because Boston is not hick country. But whatever. Four stars for the service. I ordered a raspberry lemonade, and after the waitress brought it out, she brought me another one because she thought the first one looked not-lemonade-y enough. Then she brought out a third because she was still unhappy with the second one, and had fiddled around with the lemonade machine until it produced an acceptable glass of lemonade. My Family and I went there to have Breakfast after my Sister got married last night, everyone was there including Derrick's Parents, Brothers and Sister. I ordered a healthy Egg White plate with 2 pieces of Wheat Toast, Turkey Sausage Link and a Fruit Bowl, it was a good thing for me to keep healthy. So the Food was good and it took almost 35 minutes for my meal to show up, but the parking lot on a Sunday was huge. I give that 3 1/2 Stars. read more

I've never had a worse breakfast. After waiting 45 min for our order, both meals were terrible. We sent back one stack of pancakes that were hard and had burnt strings all over them. Both plates had cold eggs. My hash browns were barely cooked and actually raw tasting. Last the bacon was, again, barely cooked and I didn't even eat it. I love Bob Evan's. Great food and service! I love their soups and their all day breakfast option. Having free refills on cappuccinos is a big plus!! I am never disappointed with the food. It is what it is. The food is OK but not memorable at all. The prices are good. The menu can be a bit confusing. For example what sides go with what main dish. It lists a basic hamburger but not a basic cheeseburger. I've been pleased with the service. I would not highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I ate breakfast with my father and my son on our way home from camping. The location right off the highway was convenient. The restaurant was moderately busy but we were seated immediately and our server, Sarah, offered us drinks and time to browse the menu. We ordered food, which came out in a timely manner; however, the biscuits that came with my meal (the portions of which were surprisingly paltry for a $9+ item) were absent and had to be requested. Sarah promptly brought one of two biscuits, reporting they'd run out and were baking fresh. I was, later (fairly quickly), brought two additional biscuits, which were all as expected. My son's pancakes were supposed to come with breakfast meat (sausage links), which we did not realize were absent (but still paid for) until he had finished. Needless to say, we never got the sausage because we didn't want to delay our travels. Despite the above complaints regarding the kitchen, the bright spot in our experience (and the only rain for a 3 star rating) was the exceptional service provided by our server, Sarah. She was very pleasant, kept coffee mugs filled, and brought food in a timely manner. She even noticed that my father's scramble seemed lacking in hollandaise sauce and brought extra free of charge in spite of the protest of the kitchen staff. You get what you pay for! Definitely isn't the best the bacon said it was thick cut, it was half black and super thin. The pancakes were half cooked and stuck to your mouth. EVERYTHING was cold, we seen it sitting there for like 10 minutes and there wasn't even many people in there...the waitresses need some work. Won't be going back for sure! read more

You would think Bob Evans would be a consistent brand to depend on for service and quality food. Unfortunately this Bob Evans has a service problem. We arrived and had to seat ourselves as two of the staff were more concerned with chatting than working. On checkout the same two servers stood there like a "deer in the headlights," making us wait until our server stopped what she was doing to check us out. I love Bob Evans, but this location could have used some supervision. My server was fine, if mostly absent, and my wife's food was good. My chopped steak order was a mess. I asked for medium -- I got dry well-done, burned on one side. Then the replacement came back raw. My sides were mac and cheese (refrigerator-cold, never warmed), and mashed potatoes with gravy (dry as a bone with a spoonful of gravy). Every request to correct took forever, and the manager never made an appearance. An unfortunate experience, and I hope a rare one. read more

Nice breakfast, friendly and fast! My husband had eggs, etc. I had the grilled chicken cobb salad, the small-size was plenty, beautiful presentation, tasty tender chicken and it came with two buttermilk biscuits!
