We used to love this place. Today was such a let down. First, no one brought us menus, we had to go and locate them. Second, we ordered the Reuben eggrolls - so sad to see it was basically 2 eggrolls cut in half so 4 mini rolls at $14! That's like $3.50 per mini bite! Third, we ordered pretzel bites $12 for about 8 lil' bites that were hardened and overcooked. Fourth, we ordered the chicken tortilla soup - cold till you got to the bottom of the bowl. Most likely it was microwaved. Overpriced. Price to portion was pitiful. Service sucked. Food was not even mid. So disappointing. And where did the potato leek soup go?! Seriously, that was the best! I ordered a glass of wine and knew instantly it was old. I asked the waitress if they just open the bottle today and she said it was opened a couple days ago. I asked for a fresh glass and the bar manager said no. They took the wine off my bill but I can't believe they would not open a new bottle. This has never happened to me. Food was only okay too. As soon as we pulled in you could smell the food, and it smelt amazing! The place was fairly busy, but the host was quick to seat us and the server was quick to come greet us. The drinks from the bar really hit the spot, however the second one was a tad strong (not complaining though)... I got the Lamb Gyro, which was HIGHLY recommended. My date got the Haus burger, and that was just as amazing... by the time we walked in, got drinks, ate, and left, we spent a good hour and a half. Imagine an Applebees but under a local name. The good: awesome atmosphere, incredibly friendly staff and by appearances in the dining area and bathroom relatively clean. The gravy on the mashed potatoes was excellent! And all of these areas are critical to a rating so kudos for this! The ok: ribeye and sides. While cooked to the temperature I ordered the ribeye was way more "chewy" than it should've been. The sides were flavorful. The bad: the wedge salad was off. Couldn't pinpoint if it was the lettuce, the bacon or the dressing but both sides of the wedge were tried and both tasted off. Would try again but would be a little more cautious with what we order. read more

Decided to try the Porter Haus at the insistence of my son who needed alligator. We were able to be seated in the back room where the arcades and board games were. This was perfect for us as it did not tie my younger ones to a booth. The alligator was over done and underwhelming for $14. Wife and I split the shrimp and portobello linguini and the portion was fine for this. I enjoyed the dish as it was ver creamy. I had the side salad which was good. Highly recommended. My husband and I went here for New Year's Eve 2022 dinner. We had prime rib king cut with au jus and grated horseradish, rice pilaf, onion potatoes, purple potatoes, vegetable medley, pecan pie, beer, Brandy Alexander. Everything was excellent, food was delicious, beef was tender, veggies crisp and flavorful, drinks cold and perfect, yummy pie for dessert. And just as important as the food...the waitstaff is friendly, well spoken...and kind. The young man at the desk had us seated in less than 2 minutes. Our drinks were there in under 5 minutes, and the food was served piping hot less than 20 minutes after we were seated...and that was in a packed restaurant! And...I watched a waitress heading east with a new order slip, one heading west with a tray full of food...and they both stopped and patiently waited while an elderly man helped his wife off her chair, and they headed for the door. My "awesome coffee" was awesome but know, it's sweeter then you would expect as you "near the bottom." We sat near the window and was roasted. Having a shade or an auto shade in a resort would probably be in line with most resorts. Food was pretty good across the board. The Cobb Salad and white bean chili was very good. Spot on. Just a great overall good scrub down and reset would be in good order. Just points of cleanliness in the days of COVID. The bar was very busy. High traffic wears out woods and wears the luster. Came here with no expectations, had not been here since the stampede closed. First and overall impression - I don't think this place has, or even knows it's identity. It's promoting itself as a nicer "steakhouse" but it pretty much looks like a bar. Hold that thought. Menu - varied, with a nice selection. Burgers and sandwiches are on par price wise with the local market. The star - steak.......well. Mind you, I can't judge the taste or flavor - because I didn't order any. Cheapest steak is 28 for sirloin, up to 48 for a porterhouse or tomahawk ribeye. Only six different steaks, and the ribeye and porterhouse are 24oz each. You are really limited on steak selection and size. This is not a high end metro area, and I don't think the area can support these levels. And back to earlier in my review - if I'm going to order a $50 steak, I want the experience - not a bar with the employees in t shirts and jeans. Burgers were good, drinks were within reason price-wise. I overheard other patrons being not happy with smaller portions because of what they were charged. The level of service, and the decor didn't warrant us coming back to try the higher end fare. Burgers, or a last call - decent. Otherwise, I'd stay clear. 5/2019 They have really adapted and picked up their game. Food is great, staff has been pretty attentive. I give credit to the ownership to listening and improving. Highly recommend the late night app and beer specials. Getting real close to 5 stars, the wait stAff and bartender is the variable holding it slightly back now. The seating was terrible, we were forced to sit in the back on Old lumpy booths that had duct tape all over them. My wife and I ordered prime rib. It should be a crime to put A1 steak sauce as a binder on prime rib. Although it was cooked properly it was very tough and hard to cut. I had the macaroni and cheese as a side, but I wouldn't necessarily call it macaroni and cheese. It was penne noodles covered in bechamel with very very little cheese. Tasted more like a buttercream than cheese sauce. We only managed to get one drink refill, even though our cups sat empty most of our meal.
