Waited 15 minutes for a waitress. Nobody checked on us and after 15 minutes we left. Not going back.

The young black male host was absolutely rude - to all the old white head customers. When we arrived he never said one word to us - he grabbed the menus at turned to go to a table- tossed the menus on the table and walked away. When we were in our seats the couple across the aisle stated that they too were treated the same way. We further noticed this same treatment of two other couples that were seated while we eat. Girlfriend went there last night with neighbors 8 year old daughter- Where to start? Ignored by the hostess. Service slow, food poorly prepared. Found pieces of paper like material in the mashed potatoes. Food lukewarm at best. The carrots were terrible - had to substitute for green beans. I usually eat here a couple times a month. Sometimes carryout, sometimes dine in. Dine in: The last few times I've been here, service has been somewhat slow, even when the restaurant doesn't seem all that busy. I used to wait on tables, so I understand that there is side work and other things they have to do, but it seems that we had to prompt the server a few times to get something, like bread and soup, or drinks. Also, the last time I was there, the order was wrong. Since the service was slow, I decided to let it go because I didn't want to wait again. Carryout: Hard to get the order wrong, but sometimes they do. All in all, not too bad. Usually ready when you get there at promised time. You usually have to prompt the hostess for silverware, even on a carryout order which gets frustrating. They should just give it to you. Overall, the food quality is par for the course at Bob Evans. I think one problem is a pretty young and inexperienced staff, for the most part, and seems to be younger, newer management. Manager isn't around to the tables like at other restaurants I've been to. A quick stop could really make a difference. Service is the main reason for the low star count here. read more

I have been in love with Bob Evans for 20+ years, last night will be our last trip ever! I ordered a pot roast sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. The sandwich was not right, barely toasted and half of a chopped raw onion, gravy came with a bonus blob of slime! I was informed the gravy is now from powder...and hunks of onion will be normal...won't be back. Use to visit at least once on month...replaced with breakfast...hashbrowns oil soaked with odd flavor. Sorry Bob Evans, we have to break up and never see each other again. read more

This establishment is absolutely atrocious. My server Greg actively touched himself in front of my children and served them our food. He provided the worst service I have ever had in my life. Well this was my second time coming to Bob Evans, first time was most likely the same as my second experience. The food in my opinion would be amazing if I just drank 18 beers . That way the food would taste better and the dryness of the food and no taste would probably have me giving it five stars being wasted. I experienced employees talking bad about customers that left ieaving just a few bucks for tips, and also the manager just going along with it. Honestly I'd recommend going somewhere else . I hate when I leave a place hungry and second time doing it here. The service has been terrible every time we've gone in the past year. They just mopped entryway and I slid across the floor when my crutches hit the water. The manager Tyler was on the ball and very apologetic. The wet floor sign was out but on other side of the floor. We were seated and waited 5 minutes before anyone got our drink order. Took over 5 minutes for an iced tea and a coffee. The restaurant was not busy at all. After we ordered I asked for a spoon to stir coffee along with other silverware. She brought a spoon. My soup came and again asked for silverware. Food came, still no silverware. The manager saw me looking around and brought us some. The server never checked with us as she was chatting with another server and someone sitting at the counter. The manager brought me coffee when he was bussing tables (while our server is still chatting). We finished eating and out our plates to the side. Still no server...we waited ten minutes and went up to the register. The cashier asked for our check which we never got. Tyler immediately came over and comped everything. I tried paying for at least drinks but he wouldn't have it. He was so apologetic. Great manager, but they need to work with servers a lot. Service is at a snail's pace at best. Waitresses refuse to write orders down, leaving tons of room for errors. Such as missing soup, putting a bun on a hamburger when it was requested to exclude one. Got there at 6:30 and dinner was served aft 7:30. We won't be returning. read more

i am currently at bob evans with my friends and the service was awful, we waited 30 minutes for our food, and the waitress didn't even come and check on us, the place wasn't even that busy. once we got our food, my food was cold and my bacon was full of fat. she never came and asked us how our food was or asked us for refills. when we were finished, she didn't ask us if we needed boxes. now i would like to go on, but i have to go. peace out- xoxo read more

Great food and great prices. Hit or miss service however. Sometimes they are very attentive, other times I have had to get up and leave bc I have sat at a table for 10+ minutes just waiting for a waitress. If you don't go at peak hours though it's great! I love this place! I have been here numerous times over the years. The service has always been great, and the food has always been superb. I have probably had just about everything on the menu, but the breakfast has always been a favorite of mine. In addition, the prices are affordable and the place is clean and cozy. read more

As a server when I enter a restaurant I am prepared to tip well being that I understand the job. The pay is not high. So I would think that another server having worked the job would understand that you have to work to make your money. Hard. This particular visit to Bob evans was particularly disappointing. My girlfriend and I drove all the way out to this specific bob evans because I have had pleasant experience and know the building to be very clean and comfortable. My meal was decent as was my girlfriends, but after having gotten our food and another table had been sat in this empty section our server began to neglect our presence and just cast glances our way while checking on her other 2 tables of 4 and 1 that were not far away. Now this may not sound too bad, but the part that had me most disappointed was not even being 2 bites into my food and the check being dropped on my table. This Bob evans has given me pleasant experience in the past, but the review I am writing is more personally directed toward the server that caused for our bad experience.
