service was terrible, took 20 mins for a waiter to come get our drink order. another 15 to get it and 15 more to get him to take our order. when the order came he didn't bring silver ware or napkins. Bob Evans used to be one of my favorite restaurants to go to and I stood up for Bob Evans when other people were saying their quality had slipped. I have not been in Bob Evans for a year or more so I decided to take my granddaughter to breakfast there this morning. I am trying to watch cholesterol so I asked for an egg white omelette with green peppers and mushrooms, a dry piece of whole wheat toast and chicken sausage. When it came, everything except the bread was so drenched in grease that I'm sure it had as many triglycerides as I was trying to cut down on. I ate the food, got done with about half of it and just could not take the amount of grease. I got down the road about 10 miles, went in the bathroom and lost every bit of it. I don't know about their lunch options and dinner options which used to be really good but that breakfast was absolutely horrible. The service was fine the wait staff was fine, the restaurant was freezing cold which did not really help the whole experience. The coffee was good as usual. But I'm just not sure I can recommend it anymore, it's really nothing like it used to be. read more

Very few cars in parking lot, even less customers. Went in for breakfast and was told they were on hold and couldn't seat us for 5 minutes. I asked why and they told us they had 7 to go orders and the know kitchen couldn't handle it. We left. read more

Ok sooo, let's start with the good: chicken noodle soup was kind of amazing and sundae was good for desert. Everything in between not so much. I order "perfectly grilled" chicken breasts. They were pounded so flat I really don't think they were chicken?! They had the taste and texture of cheap pork chops but were edible. Wait staff ran around like they were swamped yet the place was dead. I got one napkin, a small one for my entire meal and no drink refill. The only time I saw my waitress is when she was going by at 50 mph for no reason and dropping g stuff on my table. I got rolls, but no butter and the rolls were staler than the air in Grants tomb! Actually hard and dry? But on a bright side I didn't need the butter. This place needs new management and a better trained staff. But if you need to eat it's at least better than going hungry. Order the soup and a sundae and you can't go wrong. Bring your own napkins though. read more

i had a BLT, and french fries but even before completing my order i had asked about the dang hot chicken sandwich. My waitress didn't give me any clear descriptions of the sauce besides "it's hot." and then i had ordered and waited for my food, receiving it i had only gotten a handful of mildly cold fries, then when she asked if there was anything else i needed, i had asked for another order of french fries, and she gave me a dirty look and asked if i was serious. she was incredibly rude towards me, but not my grandmother, who i had taken out to dinner. everything else was fine except for tomatoes on my BLT, my second order of fries which was soggy and her behavior. read more

The host was super nice i let her know i only had 1 hour. I sit down and was never greeted by a server until i went back to the host 20 minutes after sitting down and asked her to send the server over which she did and the server still took 5 minutes to get to me. Mind you this place was not busy; 3 tables plus me. After she took my order she never once checked on me but she checked on her other tables. First time here hoping for a good breakfast. Except for a pleasant waitress, everything else sucked. Despite only about 25% capacity we had a long wait before our order was taken and a very long wait for our meals. When it do come out the eggs were barely warm, overcooked, and rubbery. The pancakes were also overcooked and leathery, so much s meo they were hard to cut with just the fork. When our bill came, I was charged for an extra egg I hadn't ordered. The place was cold and dated dirty. They should just close the rest of these sub-par restaurants. Very disappointed. When we paid our check the manager apologized and offered a 20% off coupon for our NEXT visit. We gave it to a couple of working guys waiting to be seated as we honestly won't be back. read more

I came tonight and I was blown away by how great my food was. The server was so kind and she kept my tea filled and brought my food piping hot out in a timely manner. She also kept checking on me. The food was hot and some of the best I have had at Bob Evans. I had the turkey n dressing and it was superb. I have almost sworn off anything turkey from anywhere but I'm glad I gave it a second chance here. This location has got some great cooks. Well done. read more

The revolving wait staff keeps this BE from getting a higher rating. The food is predictable, the service predictable and the prices are predictable. What keeps us coming back?? Location and the national menu offerings. Our order was muddled but nothing huge was missed. The BE sausage gravy is consistent and the biscuits were good. Not sure what is happening here. Bob Evans used to be great. Good food, good service- just all around a solid place to get a good meal. I've walked out of there 2 times in the last month feeling like I've been robbed. Management is very unapologetic- NEVER around- part of my order missing- can not get anyone's attention or told to "hang on". Drinks were filled when we sat down and not one person came around at all the entire time. I really don't want this place to close- just wish they did a better job. Management...this is 100% on you. Listen, our experience at this Bob Evans was incredible. We had a group of three adults and four kids. The wait staff were so kind and interactive with my one and four year olds. My four year old really wanted to help push a little vacuum and they let him! There was no one else in the restaurant so it was ok, then we realized why - they had closed about 20 mins after we arrived! They closed at 9 on a Friday which we were unaware of, but nobody complained or fussed or gave attitude. They served happily. Two servers even gave my son a dollar for vacuuming and the manager gave him a bag of HUGE cookies for "working." We were super pleased and grateful for our experience there. read more

Food was bland and the service was non existant. We waited for 10 minutes while the waitresses were discussing shifts. The food was not very well prepared. The Biscuits and Gravy was cold and the Gravy was void of meat. The eggs were over easy "hard" rather than easy as we ordered. The milk was warm but the toast was not bad. The hash browns was greasy and unappitizing. If this is what a chain restaurant have to offer give me the small town Mom and Pop place. Our waitress apparently wasn't interested in a good tip, because she basically ignored us for the 45-minutes we were there. She took our order, then disappeared. When we got our food a half out later, it was obvious it had been left under a heat lamp for a while. I ordered a sirloin, scrambled eggs, and home fries. My husband ordered a sirloin, green beans, and macaroni. The pot roast they tried to pawn off as sirloin was terrible. A medium steak shouldn't shred into pieces. The eggs were dried out from having sat. The bread was hard. We think my husbands steak was actually some sort of cut of steak, but definitely not sirloin. $23 bill for inedible food. after a three year hiatus I decided to eat here again. poor decision. they're understaffed. my meal cost $6.99. I only got two small pancakes. two burnt pieces of bacon and two eggs. I specifically asked for real eggs but the waitress brought liquid ones then lied to me telling me that they were real eggs. after asking another waitress for real eggs I finally got real ones. my waitress has an attitude problem big time. this place went from bad to worse. they use glass jars instead of real cups and carpets are very dirty. After two negative experiences waiting far too long for mediocre food and incorrect orders, our family has pretty much decided to take our business elsewhere. Which is a bummer because before we moved to Marion, Bob Evans was one of our favorite places to eat where we used to live in Ohio. And while Marion doesn't have much to brag about on the restaurant scene, there are plenty of other more worthy places to eat (IHOP and Richard's have yet to disappoint). The worst of our two visits was on a family / kids eat free night, and it was 80 minutes from the time we arrived to time we received our food (we arrived at 6pm, didn't wait long to be seated, but it was 7:20 before we got our food, and around 8pm, aka "bedtime," when we left). With 3 young, antsy, hungry kids, those were 80 frustrating minutes I'll never get back. The management blamed short-staffing (isn't that a management issue?) and tried, I suppose, to make it right by taking 10% off our bill, which was appreciated (and why I'm giving two stars instead of just one), but didn't do much to dissipate the shadow hanging over the experience. Hopefully they get their act together and your experience is better; but I don't imagine they'll get a third chance from us. read more

This morning we waited almost 45 minutes for our breakfast food! Although our waitress was very kind, we didn't have our coffee refilled. On top of that my Grandfather coffee was not even hot. When we mentioned it the waitress response was that the heating eliminate sometimes goes out instead of just apologizing and getting a fresh cup. We observed new guest waiting for almost 5 minutes before host even acknowledged them. Guest want a welcoming experience. Even if there is a wait please at least acknowledge your guest and invest in a faster cook so your customers don't wait 45 minutes for their food. read more
