The food was great. Front staff had no clue and was utter confusion. I watched as the elderly waited why there was booths and tables opened. They cared about the big table but not the tables for two. Very countryesque. Down home cooking with great service and really good food! The portions are huge! From the menu I thought my meal would be on the smaller side. I am not a big eater at all and the menu Pic is definitely deceiving! I could only manage a little under half my plate! I would definitely stop here again while in the area. My son and I ate at The Fried Egg for breakfast during a baseball tournament. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I had THE BEST Corned Beef Hash ever. The biscuits were ridiculous. What a wonderful place to have breakfast! We drove from Fort Wayne to purchase our new car at Denney Motor Sales in Wabash, In on the afternoon of June 3rd. We didn't have time to eat breakfast before we left home, and when we left the dealership, we were starving. Randy Denney recommended the Fried Egg restaurant to us because they serve breakfast all day. The moment we walked in, we noticed right away that the restaurant was clean and bright and the staff was friendly. Our server was helpful and attentive and explained the popular menu items. We highly recommend the Cinnamon Roll pancake. It is incredibly good. We can not say enough about how delicious they are. Enjoy them with a cup of hot coffee. Yum. My Cousin treated us to The Fried Egg today. We had a bit of a wait, but it was worth it. The restaurant is doing some things right with Covid safety. They are limiting seating capacity and staff have on masks. They have signs up for guest to wear masks but very few people were. At times I noticed the servers weren't all keeping them up on their mouth and nose. They did have have hand sanitizer in a couple places. Ok the food. #1 Pork Chops with, eggs, hash browns and toast. The chops were a good size and you get two of them. #2 Country Fried Steak with, eggs, hash browns and toast. The steak was tender and covered with gravy. #3 Cinnamon Roll Pancakes with eggs, bacon, and sausage. The pancakes were amazing. #4 Two egg meal with bacon, hash browns and toast. They did a perfect job on the over medium eggs and the bacon was the perfect crisp. We all really enjoyed our meals. Our server was friendly and moving at a good pace. She told us it was her first day back since foot surgery. She did an awesome job. Visiting the area and wanted to have breakfast before the Mother's Day crowd arrived. We were happy to see that the Fried Egg opens early, we arrived around 7:30 AM. Already a decent sized crowd. The hostess seated us right away and our server was at our table quickly and got us some coffee. Large menu. I ordered the cinnamon pancake platter with eggs and bacon, and my partner ordered the regular pancake platter. The food arrived soon after and was very good. Regarding COVID: None of the staff was masked. Coming from Monroe county, Indiana, where there is still a mask mandate, it was weird to see servers not masked. I would have rated this five stars had they enforced people wearing masks. All of the staff was wearing a mask which is great but there was no sign on the door upon entry about wearing a mask until seated. The entire place was extremely clean, including the restrooms. They were strategically placing people, to encourage social distancing at least. I had the cinnamon roll pancake platter. The eggs were extremely fluffy, bacon was fried perfectly, the sausage was cooked perfectly, and the cinnamon roll pancakes were wonderful. Butter and syrup on these pancakes would have just ruined them. My husband had ham, eggs, and fried potatoes. He said everything was wonderful, as well. We were taken care of very efficiently. The portions were huge. Plenty for everyone. Their menu was almost overwhelming having both breakfast lunch/ dinner all on the same booklet. For it being a sit down place to eat I thought there would be more home style cooked meals to choose from, like turkey Manhattan, or meatloaf. This rating would really be more of a 2 1/2. Food was good but service was slowwwwww. We went in on a Saturday morning with a full parking lot. There were so many staff standing around at the checkout/check-in. There appeared to be Plenty of waitresses too. We were given a beeper and were told it would be " a while". It was roughly 30 minutes to be seated although I saw many open tables in view. Once we errr seated we were promptly waited on. We waited about 20 minutes on our food. The food was good but higher priced than Gabriel's in Peru but the final straw was the lack of organization by the staff. Maybe you need some pointers from Gabriel's in Peru! read more

I didn't miss the toast at all! Hash Browns (classic shredded type) are gf too. I chose the bacon and cheese omelet and loved it. Large pieces of real bacon and not too much cheese..Too big to eat all of it though! Prepared with only eggs-no milk or anything else. So good. Rolled, not folded. A fantastic diner in a small town. These are the places that make America great, seriously. Lots of great food - we had the Tenderloin sandwich, but the menu features lots of items including a bit of Mexican, American and some breakfast-y foods. We also tried the pasta soup, which had some ground beef and a rich tomato-y sauce and was pretty darn good. The tenderloin sandwich was nice as well.
