I was planning on going to The Cracker Barrel, but then I remembered Bob Evans biscuits and gravy. I haven't had it in a while and we both agreed it sounded great. So we ordered online and also ordered two orders of bacon, a cappuccino, and a slice of peanut butter pie. We got there at exactly the time the website said it would be ready and I still had to wait over 10 minutes for our order. When I got there the peanut butter pie was already sliced and sitting out. It was the only thing ready. Everything came out separately. The biscuits and gravy first then the gentleman realized there was two orders of bacon as well so he had to go back and push the cooks to get the bacon. Everything was at a snails pace. Apparently they were under staffed. Waiting was a pain, but the guy was nice and apologetic which helped. I just hate food getting cold more than anything. So I finally got all of our food and we drove a couple minutes back to the hotel. The peanut butter pie had had a major melt down as you can see from the picture. That is probably the biggest disappointment of all. I don't know if it's because it was already sitting out and it clearly needs refrigeration, or if it's because he set it in the bag on top of the hot food, or if it wasn't made right in the first place. Maybe it's all of those things combined. The biscuits were not hot, but the gravy was. The butter was very hard and could not be spread. The gravy was nowhere near as good as it used to be. We ate one biscuit each and tossed the rest out. The bacon was cold and burned. The peanut butter pie is probably going to get tossed too. I don't know. I might attempt it later. If I do I'll update the review, but you probably already know how that's going to go. I feel like I just wasted $25. read more

GOT MOLD? Bought 4 loaves of banana bread on my way from Orlando to Atlanta. Gave 1 to my neighbor the next day. On the second day I realized that I couldn't gift the others as planned because they were covered in mold. Considering that they were kept in a/c at 70-73 degrees I think it's fair to say that I was sold very old food. Ordered Thanksgiving to-go 3 days earlier. Showed up at 12:40 and the place was a cluster! People had been waiting an hour plus for pick-up! I was there 25 minutes and contacted what appeared a manager. I had food at home so it wasn't a big deal. I just explained that they could refund or fill the order. I went to Bob Evans on 2/7, there were 5 cars in the parking lot ( I counted). A family of four were waiting when I arrived. There were at least 15 open tables, maybe more. I was not greeted, instead a waitress walking by shouted out that " we have a wait". Less than a minute later, another lady came over, didn't greet me, but said " we have a wait, there is already 4 people ahead of you, do you want to wait? They dont want to serve you there and their demeanor is that they dont want you. I should of known with only 5 cars in lot when most every other restaurant was busy. They better get a better manager or this will be another business that " goes down on the farm". Sad to see such a once thriving chain run into the ground by lazy ungrateful people. read more

I live in Georgia and whenever I can I eat at Bob Evans. I usually eat at the Lake city (exit 427) which is really good. The food wasn't bad at this location but the service was " horrible " I never got my drink refilled and I had to ask another server to get one. Pulled into the parking lot with less than 10 cars. Not even half the tables were filled. When I put in our name, three parties were ahead of us. 45 minutes later, the party in front of us was seated. The hostess then began calling parties that arrived 15-20 minutes after us. When questioned about when we would be seated, she put our name at the end of the list (which had at least 5 more parties). I would love to give a review about their food, but the lack of organization, incompetence of the host, and slowness would have kept us there an additional 2 hours at the rate they were going. read more

I wanted to try something different this time so I tried the Chicken Pot pie. It was not bad but I can't say I would order it again. It was also small for a pot pie and watery. My salad was not very good either. The lettuce was old and starting to brown on the edges. The server was nice a did a good enough job. I'm not sure who messed up but I was served the wrong salad dressing. My server obviously did not know what the dressing were supposed to look like on a salad or she would have figured it out. Never again. We've had slow service at the Hwy 40 store so today we tried the restaurant on 200. The worst ever! Got there at 10:45 am and waited 30 minutes for a table when easily 25% were empty. Waited and waited on our order while listening to constant excuses by the wait staff and then the manager. Finally at noon we left without any food. As we left the waiter said "it's coming soon." Horrible service. We walked out. And no apology, just excuses that "yes we are short handed but we have as many employees as we are allowed". -COVID. What??? That's so wrong- you are not full at 50% capacity - no where close to that and your multiple waitresses are cleaning tables of dishes instead of seating new guests. There is no reason to ring up customers instead of seating new ones that were here first waiting to be seated way before these payers got up from their seats and got in line to be cashed out. Again bad Management or cashier/hostess... not paying attention to manage the proper flow of customers nor the staff on priorities. There were plenty of "clean" tables due to hardly having ANY customers. Regrettably, you list 2 new customers who won't be to any Bob Evans - they were very annoyed and they are both in the service industry and we all know how word spreads amongst them & their guests about bad service. Ordered delivery via Postmates. Did not include any condiments including syrup and butter for my French toast, wasted food and money. When I called they advise I call Postmates, whom they said would send the driver back out, but Postmates doesn't even have a phone number, therefore, there is no such policy. We decided not to cook for Thanksgiving this year as my son was on leave from the Army and we wanted to spend all our time with him instead of cooking. We ordered and paid in advance for 4 turkey meals with the fixings and dessert. When Thanksgiving came - we called from the car for our curbside delivery, phone rang and went into the advertisement loop 6 times before we went inside to pick up. Although we arrived 5 minutes early our food was not ready until 20 minutes after our scheduled time. Then the news came, "we ran out of food". So when we arrived home we found, not even close - to compensate we were given 18 rolls, 2 pumpkin breads, 1 turkey meal, two ham meals and an apple pie that was stood up in the bag - which was destroyed and leaked all over everything. What kind of management is this, you took my order and my money but gave me what was laying around. You didn't hold food for the paid customer? I regret to say that my wife and I had the worst meal we've had since we moved to Ocala 3 years ago. It was a pretty simple meal to make- breakfast at 4:00 p.m. with about 15 people in the restaurant. It took much longer than it should have to get our food which should have been my 1st red flag. I asked for soft bacon, it was crispy. I asked for my eggs over medium and they were one over easy and one over well and they were the smallest eggs I have seen on a plate ever. My wife ordered a bacon omelet that was flatter than a pancake and was made with bacon bits- yuk. We asked to see the manager to voice our concerns and as we were waiting for him my wife noticed a hair on my hash browns. It was not mine. There is a new manager there who was very cordial and understanding and we told him we would come back after he had a chance to right the ship.
