Save your money. At least 4 of us out of large group didn't care for the food. I'll list what the verdict was. The roast beef for sandwiches is low quality lunch meat, weird texture. Nothing like pink or fresh like boars head. The soup is bland ( wild rice). The breakfast potatoes were not crispy enough at all. The steak hash had two pieces in it. ( the lady came out and explained it comes 3.oz you can ask for extra after he had it remade. ( rude) My nephew never complains dug in the entire hash but said well it was only 2 pieces lol. My parents and i came in and it was busy (not packed, which was good bc another First Watch we went to was packed). I askef if we could get seated outdoors since it wad cold inside and we got sat immediately. Our server was somewhat attentive (asked if we're ready to order, waited a couple more minutes for us to finish deciding). One of the menu items she said something wrong which was fine, i'm glad she tried to ensure I don't get an ingredient that I didn't want on a separate item. The foodrunner was absolutely great! Her attentiveness and overall attitude were great! I wish i got her name so i could give her props on here! The server checked up on us right after the food got to our table and we told her of some things we asked the runner for, but after that did not check on if we got it, how the food was, or if we wanted anything else. She passed by later and dropped the receipt with no explanation or reassurance like a "does everything look good on the receipt?" Or a "if everything looks good you can head up to the front and pay" (we did not know we need to pay up front so we stayed at the table waiting for her to get the card which she didnt check on or point out after 10-15 minutes of us sitting doing nothing). The food was delicious in my opinion. I got the 2 for you with the monterey club and the chicken avocado chop with a pueple haze (i unfortunately did not get a picture of them) but they were good quantity and quality for the price. The price of both is almost the same as if you bought any of them individually (they serve half the portion of each for the 2 for you) but i personally like the variety and trying both items. The salad only had two slices of avocado though which was slightly disappointing but it all tasted delicious. I think it's the best food i had in first watch ever! read more

We've been to a First Watch in another city so familiar with the franchise. It was Easter Sunday so our choices for breakfast after church were limited. My wife double checked with the restaurant to confirm they were open and logged on to be added to the waitlist. Upon arrival, we waited a couple of minutes before we were seated. My wife ordered coffee and the Farmhouse Hash with cheese and wheat toast and I, at our server's recommendation, ordered the Frittata Rustica. Service was efficient and we appreciated the carafe of coffee and water on our table. My wife liked her breakfast, highlighting how she liked the flavors. However, she thought the cheese should've been included in the meal and not something you'd have to pay extra for. She thought one piece of toast was chintzy. I didn't care too much for my frittata. I felt it was too rustic with big chunks of mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes that I didn't care for. Speaking of chintzy, it was served with this thin slice of ciabatta! Really? The service is always attentive and friendly, the restaurant is clean despite being "standing room only" on weekends, and their food is delicious. I wish we had one in California! Brunch was absolutely delicious! The fruit on the french toast was super fresh and you can tell the juice is fresh as well. The food was great! We tried their seasonal cheesecake donut holes which were amazing. The breakfast tacos were pretty average but the salmon frittata was the so fresh and light, I would order it again. The toffee honey coffee was more honey than I prefer but still very tasty and a great coffee base. Service was very accommodating as it was warm and sunny and they moved the shades and turned on outdoor fans for us when we asked. I loved the easy but busy energy of the restaurant. Out of town and stopped off for a bite to eat for breakfast. I ordered the smoked salmon fritata and my company ordered the carrot and pecan pancakes. Smoked salmon was fantastic. Salmon was a bit of the salty side but other than that, the tomatoes and chive cream was excellent. The pancake originally sounded weird but the seasoned carrot and pecan nuts were an absolute must try here. Service was quick and responsive when getting our coffee refilled. Decided to dine outside on the patio which had a heated and non-heated section. Will definitely be returning next time I'm in town for the Sangria pitcher. read more

Moved from California where I had a number of cool breakfast spots with delicious and interesting menu items and while I've found a great standard breakfast place, I was missing the higher chef standards. Then I found First Watch! I've just been there once so far, but keep thinking about my meal: raspberry lemon ricotta french toast and I added a side of million dollar bacon. Oh my! I keep thinking about the bacon. I've made it at home in the past, but clean up is a lot and it's addictive and I can eat a ridiculous amount. I did consume the whole order of it by myself, but at least that was a limited portion. The raspberry ricotta was perfect. Perfect balance of flavors and the texture of the french toast was almost custard like. Alas I was so busy enjoying my good coffee, the food and general vibe of the place while I read that I didn't take pictures. Dogs: service dogs are welcome inside, but there's a great outdoor patio if your pooch isn't one or in training. Wait staff: very nice. First experience and it definitely had its kinks. We came in on a Friday and it was so busy which seemed scary in about 5minutes me had a table. Unfortunately, the service wasn't as fast as the seating We weren't actually greeted by another server and for another five minutes, didn't get water, but we got whatever coffee was in her hand .Not a bad start we thought . We didn't have silverware or water but had food at this point about 25 minutes in and we were in a rush so we were doing our best to communicate that. got the grits and my husband got the strawberry French toast that they had for the Summer special. He also got the watermelon lime drink, which was amazing. The grits were not well made and the shrimp and peppers were sooooo overcooked. I had breakfast both Saturday & Sunday this week. Saturday, the service was poor and the food was good. On Sunday, the service was great but the food was subpar. Everything was undercooked. The English muffin was just a warm peice of bread. The waffle was so undercooked, it couldn't support it own weight, when picked up. The eggs were runny, you get the idea. The kitchen just wanted to get the food out fast and get caught up, instead of puttiny out a quality product. It's a bit of a drive from Gainesville to First Watch in Ocala, but it's worth it. Had an awesome brunch which consisted of French toast and million dollar bacon. My wife got the ham and cheese sandwich which is also very good. First Watch is unique that it's a breakfast lunch only restaurant. The restaurant was packed though the wait was minimal. They don't take reservations they do call ahead. Prices are a little on the high side, but is a fun special morning spot and the quality is good. We'll be back. read more

Went to First Watch for the first time the other day and it was wonderful. We sat on the patio because the weather was so perfect. I ordered the Trifecta with a whole grain waffle, two pork links and egg. We received our orders promptly. I especially enjoyed the warm syrup. I notice some commenting on the cost and I would say that for the quality of the food and portion size, First Watch provides excellent value. Wasnt asked if I wanted to change the bed of grass to potatoes so my food arrived with that green pile of dinosaur fodder on the side. No dressing on it or anything. The coffee is also not good. I've had better coffee and food at waffle house for half the price. I seldom offer ratings, but I felt this just merited my response. When making payment, they refused to accept a valid discount coupon published in an Ocala paper. When the coupon was presented to the waitress, she stated it was a copy of the page from the internet and would not be accepted. I stated the paper did not state copies of the free coupon were not valid, nor was any restriction on the distribution method noted. I also noted I did not intend to argue the matter or upset her and paid the bill. She then referred the matter to her manager for further discussion. We tried to order more items but the waitress was nowhere to be found until the very end when she dropped off the check and dissapeared again.
