A group from our Senior Center in Ripley WV had our monthly outing on the 24th of June. We numbered about 35 guests. The food was very delicious . I'm not sure what everyone ordered because we were seated in 2 different rooms, don't know why. We managed to visit with all. My dinner was a 3 item dinner, I had a small salad with their Fire Chicken, 1/2 chicken salad sandwich and a small bowl of cheddar bacon soup. I left there very full & friends teased me "that I ate the whole thing" No complaints except for someone saying a Senior Discount was available at the front register, but you had to ask for it. We were one of two cars in the lot, so we figured we'd have a quick dinner and be on our way. And order of tenders/fries, a standard breakfast (eggs/bacon/biscuits), and a half sandwich/soup. When the breakfast was ordered, the server left before it could be specified. My wife had to catch her to tell her scrambled eggs. She started to walk away again, my wife stopped her to tell her bacon. Off she went, my wife had to stop her and tell her biscuits. It seems that if you order breakfast without swiftly specifying, you'll get over easy eggs, bacon, and yet to be determined bread option. It took a very long time, and we learned that they had two new cooks. No problem, it's going to take longer. Cool. Waitress kept our drinks filled, was friendly, explained things. No problem. Food arrives, my daughter's tenders and fries arrived. Only 2 of three tenders. Seriously overcooked tenders. My daughter ate one and left the other. My wife only has her scrambled eggs and bacon. We learn then that they were out of biscuits and they just started them. It would be twenty minutes. My sandwich and soup were great, no complaints. Overall, we were there for well over an hour and received only a portion of what we ordered, some of it burnt beyond being edible. I thought it would be reasonable to get a discount. Server couldn't help, which I understand, but she got the manager. The manager offered 10% off. The lack of customer service skills displayed by the manager was absolutely wild. BTW, this was the first time I have ever asked to be comped in my life and it was miserable. Strongly suggest bypassing this location. Donna always screws up my orders no matter how simple they are. she's done it numerous times the past year as I've seen her flirt with her customers and ignores the others when she's continuously doing it. speak to a "manager" is worthless because she keeps doing it and keeps being allowed to screw up orders and managers will not take the screwed up food off the bills. she's always got something nasty to say about coworkers and it gets really old hearing it all the time read more

Tony and I went to Bob Evans Restaurant and I had a really nice brunch. I decided to go with Half of BLT sandwich and Bowl of Beef Veggie Soup. Tony went with Rise & Shine Burger with Bacon & Fried Egg with side of French Fries. He had a Beer and I went Half & Half Tea. It was good! Glad we stopped in! Our waitress was extremely nice and attentive. She checked on us several times Definitely recommend and definitely going back again I wish I had gotten French fries, they were done particularly well and they were the nice fat ones that I truly enjoy. It was okay. I visited for dinner about 5:30 on a Tuesday. The place was empty. Parking was not a problem nor getting a seat. Service was great food was okay. It is not a place for dinner in my mind more for breakfast. Because I was meeting someone this was the best place to meet. I had the fish and chips for dinner and it was a lot of bread on the fish. Near Ripley, WV, on a long trip traveling up I-77 N, stopped at this Bob Evans at 7:15 pm (closing at 8). My family and I was told we had a 20 minute wait. NO ONE was in line. Many many OPEN tables. Three diners left and paid while we waited. Odd looks from servers behind counter. One server stated "I'm done. Put a fork in me. I'm only doing carryout." Also heard no napkins were available. Been there twice. Today I ordered 1/2 BLT sandwiches and potato soup. Two strips of very greasy bacon thin slice of tomato and they did it on the flat top. You could wring the grease out of the bread and bacon. Looked under the table and the sweeper hadn't been run for a day or so. Dirty door windows and very dirty credit card payer. This Bob Evens has been plagued with problems for the past few years. Good quality and service has been low as well as cleanliness. This visit we found the wait time post seating to be a bit long. The waitress forgot several ordered items and they over packed my wife's boarder scramble with a third cup of jalapeños. We actually stopped coming here about a year ago due to the poor management. I had slipped on the floor that always seemed to be freshly oiled. Some improvement but not sufficient to warrant a revisit! Well I thought sufficient time had passed for a revisit. Thought was wrong. Service is still slow and they still serve poor quality food on dirty plates. My coffee creamer came with its own meal clinging to the inside of the container. Very disappointed! Waitress was good but the food took for ever to be served and the quality was poor. I asked for bacon crisp but it came our limp. My toast barely saw a flame. My husbands omelette was not prepared as he ordered. All in all I would not recommend. read more

We walked in and no one greeted us, despite several people making eye contact. One lady looked at us and went up to the two others cold shouldering us and said, nope I'm not talking to them. I checked the time and realized they closed in 20 minutes. Which I understand, but they could have just stated we are about to close and not taking new customers. Having just finish our dinner, I have to say I am really dissappointed. We arrived around 4:30pm on this Saturday and the place was rather empty. We were hopeful for a quick dinner. It is now after 6 and we are just leaving. The first thing that bothered me was all the "stuff" on the carpet, tables and chairs. Our table even had greasy finger prints on it. Had the place been packed, I might be okay. But this was really bad and looked like it has been this way for awhile. Second, the place is freezing cold. I get it you need to cool for a packed place but we had some seniors with us and they were miserable. Got to find a solution. The waitress was very nice but disappeared a few times. Our party of 6 ordered and it was disaster after that. It took over 45 mins to get our food. Three of the six orders were wrong and my plate came out 5 mins after everyone else. I concur with Jeff. Some people like to complain just to complain and feel good about their miserable selves. My family has dined here many times since its opening and have never had a bad experience. In fact when we ate there a couple weeks ago I would give them 10 stars if I could. The food was awesome and served promptly. The waitress we had was amazing. The best I've ever had. She asked what kind of dressing I wanted for my salad and I told her that I would like to have thousand island but I know that Bob Evans Restaurants don't have it. I told her I have requested it to be added to their selections. I settled for French but when she returned with my salad she had my French dressing along with her homemade recipe for Thousand Island. She had went to the back and personally made me some from her family's recipe. It is a combination of tarter sauce, ketchup, and mayo. How awesome is that? It was delicious and I thanked her numerous times. I am still amazed that she took the extra effort and done that for me. As far as the cleanliness I have never saw anything but clean. I'm not sure what these other people saw in their visits but as for me I give this Bob Evans location 5 stars for all categories. read more
