It was a fantastic option for a young 20something learning the ropes of financial stability, but I didn't do more than try to keep money in the bank and pay off my credit card every month. Then our 1999 beater kicked the bucket. My partner and I knew it was going to happen eventually and we would have to get some sort of car. Both of us were attracted to the idea of driving an electric car so we went into the Sellwood branch to ask for our options. We were helped by Brittany K and she was an absolute dream. Student loans can be crippling and we were really concerned we wouldn't even be approved for a loan! Brittany advocated for us all the way and we approved! If you've read this far, this is where the *above and beyond* customer service starts. We were in negotiations to buy a Nissan Leaf through an online dealer. We had a $250 hold down on the car and we're about to sign papers! After a bunch of back and forth between the dealer and Brittany, she let us know that the dealer wasn't actually able to even prove they owned the title to sell legally! She then went out of her way to find us a simmilar car with a reputable dealer Unitus trusts! We ended up loving the other car way more than the shifty dealer and my partner and I are fighting over who gets to drive it! None of this would have been possible without Brittany's help she really went to bat for us. I highly recommend Unitus to anyone who is just starting out and might not be savvy enough to negotiate predatory lending/financial situations.

I waited to write the review since the COVID-19 pandemic was in full force at the time of my initial query. While I was very disappointed to have not received any responses to my initial inquiries, I was VERY impressed to have received a personal response on Yelp within minutes of my posting my original review, apologizing for my not having received any responses, and asking for supplemental information so that they could investigate and try to find a root cause. They checked their systems and couldn't find my contact attempts. Their demonstrated concern for potential customers was very evident, as was their professionalism in taking the time to write a thorough and thoughtful response as well as their desire to find and fix the root cause. I'm not sure when or if I'll be in the market for a mortgage broker service again, but if I am, I'll definitely give Green Mortgage Northwest a shot before I contact anybody else based on their excellent response.

They even stayed after hours to make sure I could drop things off. They were comforting and reassuring and really listened to me, and most importantly, they got the job done. If you have a credit card with OnPoint, the online portal shows that you owe nothing this month and removes the usual payment button entirely. That immediately raised red flags for me, so I checked my paper statement. Buried in the fine print was this message: "As a valued member, we would like to give you a holiday gift. You may skip this month's payment. You just don't pay it. Finance charges will continue to accrue, however." Taking away the payment button while quietly allowing interest to keep accruing is not a "holiday gift." It's misleading at best. I called customer service to flag this, and instead of acknowledging the issue, the rep defended it. When I asked him to file a complaint with management, he responded in a condescending tone, saying, "Sure, I'll do that just for you." This kind of practice erodes trust. If interest is still accruing, that should be made crystal clear in the online portal, not hidden in fine print on your paper bill while payment options disappear.

THIS WAS MY RENT CHECK. Long story: went to this OnPoint. I used to sell cars and on point does a lot of loans in Oregon so I chose them as my secondary bank after my main bank stopped having branches in Portland. I was recently leaving town so I had my rent put into a cashiers check before I left so I knew it was safe. Unfortunately, I left it on the table, and it was thrown away during a cleanup by my roommate. I was very understanding that this was my fault when I got to on point. I was hoping they could fix it quickly but was understanding if they couldn't. My teller let me know that the general rule is that they can't look into anything until 20 days have passed, however he would schedule me with a manager to see if they could do something. I waited for 30 minutes (no expectation for time was set) while I could hear the ladies in the office behind me coming and going and talking about lunch. After the 30 minutes, I was finally seen by the manager and she let me know There was nothing she could do as it hadn't been 20 days and gave me the math on what 20 days would be as if I hadn't already done that 30 minutes ago. I (understandably) inquired as to why I waited if it was gonna be the exact same answer that the guy at the desk gave me and she let me know she was at lunch and that they actually can do something before 20 days if they deem the reason good enough and actually said that she would've done it if I had told her that my partner threw the check in the fire. I immediately let her know how absolutely disrespectful she is, to tell me that my reason wasn't good enough when I'm telling her that it is destroyed and that it is my rent check is incredible. So I drove to another onpoint and told them that the check had been destroyed and that it was my rent check and they made the right calls and had a new one cut for me in 45 minutes. They even made sure that I would promise that if I found the old one I wouldn't spend it and I would shred it., which is really ironic after a woman refused me because my check wasn't destroyed enough.
