The experience was positive until the point in the process where the more senior salesperson is sent in to attempt close the deal. Jason (salesperson #1) knew the cars very well, demo-ing two models, before taking me on a test drive. All niceties stopped when we returned from the drive and I was introduced to Nasir (salesperson #2). First thing he did was ask if I wanted water. When I politely declined, he responded with, "It's hot out. I'll get you some water." This sounds innocent but it was indicative of Nasir's personality and inefficiencies in job performance. He does not listen to, nor care about the customer's wishes. He spent several minutes speaking to me in a condescending tone, "mansplaining" what a lease is, and telling me how superior BMW is to any other car. This is not how you sell cars--which I've actually done in my lifetime. He flat out told me that we couldn't reach an agreement based on my budget and that's fine. The way he spoke to me, however, was NOT. While he wasn't interested in making any deal other than the one HE wanted to, he advised that it "might" be possible at another dealership. It is. Nasir then attempted to ridicule me for the car I drove on the lot in. Very pretentious. He assumed that I could not afford one of 'his' cars. Huge mistake as a salesperson. You can't tell me that my skin color (Black) also didn't have an impact on the way I was treated. Nasir's prejudice does not fit me. I am a college-educated black woman with strong community ties. I have a high credit score and I am employed with a great job, with a salary that will afford me any one of the cars I am currently entertaining. I wouldn't have been on that lot without doing research in advance to know what was do-able. I had enough, thanked Jason for his time and exited the building. The official term for this is called "burning people" or "blowing them out," and a good salesperson wouldn't have done this. Additionally, a good salesperson knows that obstacles aren't really obstacles if you like the car. While I am not going to blame the entire dealership for the behavior of one person, they are complicit. Nasir has a number of negative reviews detailing problematic interactions. This experience represents the poorest way I have ever been treated while buying a car. I take offense that it happened to me during the height of a Civil Rights movement. It is disgusting and unacceptable. I encourage the dealership to consider the fact that Nasir is a reflection of them and that these type of incidents reflect poorly on the BMW brand, as well as the entire community of Calabasas. Every person who sets foot on your lot is a potential customer. They deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. read more

This review is about: NASIR KHAN I purchased a new car on April 11, 2020. The process was beyond easy. I went online picked out the car I thought I wanted, submitted the application and within 30 min I received a text from the online sales rep. By the next morning I was told to come in pick up my car. SO EASY RIGHT?! That morning I went to the dealership to see the car that I picked out online. I wanted to test drive it, at first they didn't want to let me because of the "corona virus" but I told them there was no way i was going to buy a car without driving it first so they made an exception. Less than 2 weeks later (April 23) I started to see things that I didn't like about the car and wanted to upgrade to a bigger car so I contacted my rep: NASIR KHAN I GOT CRICKETS! No reply Again I contacted my rep: NASIR KHAN After finally speaking to him after several tries on (April 25, 2020) He told me to come in and pick out another car, I did. I test drove the new car, I told him I was willing to pay more money and was ready to do the trade. He said he was going to contact the bank and work on the new deal. The worst thing about moving to Calabasas is Bob Smith BMW. My wife and I have owned BMWs for most of our adult life. THIS bmw location is a joke. Every time i come in for anything, the customer service is atrocious. Yesterday i came in for a quart of oil, and as usual, no one as at the parts department. Now they've added a buzzer, so you can inform the parts clerk you're waiting. The buzzer worked because it lit up , but no one came. A guy came to the clerk desk and asked if i've been helped. I said no, so he went to call someone. no one came. a lady walked by and asked if i've been helped. I said no, so she went to get someone. I'm not sure why the first guy i saw (who was behind the parts desk) didn't just get me my own quart of oil? after the lady, no one. showed. this was the day before July 4th and there were no customers. i was the only one. there were over ten bmw employees within ten feet of me, some laughing and joking, but not one offered to help. The parts department is literally the easiest job there. it doesn't take any specialized training to ring up a quart of oil. every employee should be able to go assist a customer wanting a simple quart of oil. where i work, we pride ourselves on customer service. moving forward, i will drive all the way to van nuys or even north hollywood for parts and service. It cost me $500 round trip airfare from Sacramento to discover that the salesman had been less than forthright. Among car salesmen, this should not surprise me, but Bob Smith dealerships have typically enjoyed a good reputation. Not this time. UPDATE - Just to clarify after reading the Bob Smith dealership response. 1) there was NO offer of a reduced price to fix the shredded header. 2) the salesman swore the car was "clean" and specifically omitted any photo of the shredded header. Why? I can only wonder if it was to entice me to fly down and then once I'm "stuck" I would have to buy the car. 3) after leaving in disappointment, I then paid $100 for an Uber to see another car in Mission Viejo - higher priced and CPO. I chose to not buy that because of an undisclosed repair and alignment issues. Update: 12/01/2021 - I was becoming accustomed to "Ultimate Care Plus" meaning that braking system performance and audio were that of a probably not street legal jalopy, when I had an idea. I brought my car to Century West BMW, where I was told that the inner brake pads were completely worn and were "metal on metal," according to the service advisor. BMW only uses sensors on the outer pads, which, I was told, is why the brake service indicator did not appear. It seems that if these people put any effort into actually doing their job, rather than directing all of their efforts to deny service to which I was entitled, this could have been avoided. The facts speak for themselves. *WARNING DONT BUY MAINTENANCE PROGRAM FROM BMW * BMW and their dealers are selling a contract in bad faith and defrauding their customers. I purchased a new X3 from Bob Smith (my third BMw) and purchased the longest / best coverage factory warranty and the longest "Ultimate Care Plus" program, which in addition to maintenance, covers the brakes for the life of the program. Now the rotors are warped, causing vibration when braking, and squealing while driving. This dealership that sold the car and the maintenance program along with it, and has done all but two of the services (which were done at another BMW dealer), is refusing to honor the program and contract. They state that they will not fix the problem with the rotors because the brake pads are not completely worn out. I asked many people at BMW USA and at Bob Smith to please point out where in the contract it states that the rotors will not be fixed if the pads are not worn out (this is not listed as an exception, or anything like it). Their answer itself is a lie, saying that the rotors are only warped because of "excessive braking," what a bunch of swindlers. read more

We just brought the car in for service, because it's a second engine light issue they confirm that the foreman would personally walk through the car prior to it being return back to me. After picking up the car and half way home on the 101 freeway I hear a loud scratch noice from underneath my car on the driver side. Pull to the side and turns out simply because they forgot to secure the bottom cover of the car after taking it apart. Seriously... how irresponsible can their mechanic be. Terrible experience. Went in to change my four tires on my M6 and got turned away by a super rude representative named Rob Meyer. In his text he accuses me of making a fraudulent claim for wanting to change tires that were produced in 2013 and has visible cracks and damage. Did he check the thread wear or date the tires were produced? No. This is not safe and he said it was only cosmetic. At another repair facility they took the time to measure the threading with a special tool and inspected each tire. Rob didn't even look at the tires before saying that the warranty company wouldn't approve the repairs. They he eyeballed it looking below the car in the dark with no flash light from the front of the car???? To say they are fine! That's how they check tires at Bob Smith BMW. Very sad to have had this experience. Is it safe to use crack tires that are 8 years old with visible damage? Rob at Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas thinks so. We came here to service our car and had made a reservation for 9am for a simple oil change and tire alignment. We called the service center at 1:20pm to check on the status as we haven't heard from them. We tried their hotline 3 times and it wasn't until 2:10pm that someone had gotten back to us regarding the estimated time of when the car would be ready. The service rep told us that the car would be ready at 3:30pm. We arrived slightly before 4 expecting our car to be ready. However it was still in the wash. We waited another 50 minutes there before the car was finally ready only to find out that the inside of the car had not been cleaned. The service representative was very helpful and nice, and that's the reason why this review is a 2 star and not a 1. The level of service is subpar (inside of the car was not cleaned...) and we expected the service center to at least give us a heads up if it's going to take 8 hours for a simple service. read more
