Service dept. The radiator cap broke off inside the resevoir and technicians could not get it out so stated I needed a new reservoir to a tune of $225. St check out , the bill was $319 as I needed engine coolant even though I told them I had a gallon of it in my back seat. I was given a Military discount. Their parts are marked up way too high. If you quote me $225, then I expect you to stick to it even though a coolant resevoir should for that price is absolutely ridiculous. I have my service rep a 5 as he deserved it but this Dealership needs some revamping. I will be looking for better alternatives in the future as I was price gauged something awful. Their inability to conduct a diagnostic is remarkable. They take the vehicle in, and if you are lucky, you will get it back someday, but you should plan on spending 5-8 times as much as you would have thought. Your sales team stated their were multiple appointments for people to see the vehicle today and we could not buy it until they viewed the vehicle first. Your sales staff suggested we wait two hours to see if the next person showed up for the appointment. Then another saleman came out and stated they added another appointment for noon. Here is the story. Ordered a Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid from Justin in October of 2021. Of course the build date kept getting kicked down the road. I honestly forgot about it until December 2022. My truck has a new build date but would be a 2023 model. Cool...let me know when it gets close. Jan 2023 I signed off on relinquishing my rights to the Maverick when it came in. Was going to buy something else. Today (2.17.23) Justin text me and said that it just arrived and gave me first dibs. Swope could have put it on the lot with a substantial "market adjustment", but they didn't. They sold me the Maverick at about the same price as I ordered it in 2021. My 2017 f150 door was trying to come open when I was driving , so I made an appointment at the service dept. When I get there was greeted and told to go to the service desk. That's when it all went downhill, receptionist was very rude, was told they could not fix my truck , that it was a body shop issue. Vehicle has no body damage. Worst experience I have had at a service center. One positive note was that another customer heard the conversation and said the same thing happened with her truck , said I would have to call ford to get them to honor a recall. I was travelling this morning through E-Town to a project site visit in Northern Alabama. As I pulled away from the gas pump, I realized that there was something dragging under my 2018 explorer. I stopped and checked it and the man next to me directed me to Swope Ford. Upon arrival, they immediately checked me in and got my vehicle into the shop. During my time in the dealership, i appreciated their covid procedures and regular cleaning. They replaced the damaged part at no charge and sent me on my way. Two years ago we bought a Lariat 150 from them for my husband and the customer service from buying the truck to all of our service needs were outstanding. When it was time for me to upgrade, going by past experience, we chose to use them again. First experience with them was needing to make an appointment to have the vents on the heat/ air checked. We were't sure if the fans were working properly. We left the car all day and when we went to pick it up we were very rudely informed there was nothing what so ever wrong with the car. This information was projected to us after we stood waiting for the service staff to acknowledge we were standing there. Last Saturday I had made an appointment to get my first oil change. The appointment was for 9:00 a.m. Upon arrival I was asked if I planned to wait for the car. When I responded that I did plan to wait, I was informed that I could expect to wait until noon or 12:30. I was shocked. I informed the service woman that I had an appointment and could not wait that long to get an oil change as I had made plans for multiple errands. She offered the shuttle service and very cooly made the point that they closed at 2:00. I took the inference to mean I should feel sorry that I may inconvenience them if I should decide to use the shuttle service. Long story short, I rescheduled the oil change to Monday. Had to drop the car and keys on Sunday night. My husband took me to work, picked me up after work (in Louisiville) and when we stopped to get the car, again had to wait while several service staff had personal conversations and jokes before they could give us the attention we needed as customers to get our car. This type of service is totally unacceptable and more than disappointing. What a shame. Please take a look at your service staff Bob Swope. We've purchased 3 automobiles in the past month from Swope Ford. I have never had the pristine customer service that Frank Hibbs provided me from any other dealer EVER! My son and his wife had been looking on line for a good deal on a Ford focus without luck, until they met Frank. He showed them three or four within their price range so my son called me in. Frank took the time to explain in great detail all the features and accessories of all the cars my son and his wife were looking at, which made us all feel quite pleased. My son ended up spending just a little more than they planned since Frank again explained in great detail finance options available to them. And we all were very secure in the decisions they made. After their experience my daughter was in need of a car and had never dreamed she could afford anything, but again with Frank Hibb's knowledge, she got the prefect fit in a brand new Ford Focus with all the options she wanted. Frank went above and beyond, since their dealership did not stock a car with everything she wanted, to search nationwide and arranged to have it transferred in. And again another very satisfied customer. And finally, I needed a good, affordable used car to purchase for our college student. Frank worked diligently to find us three or four models to choose from. We spoke with Frank and arranged to come in on a Saturday to test drive them. He had them all set up and ready to go. Unfortunately neither of those panned out, however Frank persisted to look and found one more that was just traded in the day before that had not been completely ready for sale, but took us over to see it. He arranged them to stop detailing it enough for us to test drive. Well, needless to say, that's the one we ended up getting! I received prompt and excellent service from this dealer. I have a late model RV, with V10 Triton and had a Service Engine light on. Greenwood Ford in Bowling Green made me an appointment, then when I arrived refused to even take a look...turned me away and I observed many laugh as I backed my rig out of the service bay line. Didn't even offer to allow me to drive through. When I called Ford, they said they have no influence over their dealers and I would have to call around, on my own time, to find help for warranty work. I am so glad that my next call was Bob Swope Ford. They got me in the next morning, promptly found the issue and thoroughly explained and showed it to me. They rebuilt the part....saving me money. They changed the oil for a very decent price. They even gave me tips for preventing the issue (a rodent had chewed through a wire). My daughter and I bought a F-150 from this dealership that is CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED with a plethora of problems. We pointed these problems out to the salesman and before signing paperwork to finance truck, they agreed to fix everything on the truck. Needless to say, the finance manager marked the truck up $3,000 into the deal and then lied about it AFTER we signed the contract. They had to cover their costs for repairs. To make matters worse, their service department are some of the rudest people at the front desk! Don't take your car/truck in for relpairs because we have found out that something else breaks on the vehicle a week later! A more expensive part! And then they lie about it. We now take our truck to Lincoln Pinkham for oil changes, re Pairs, etc. where we are treated with RESPECT and continually thanked throughout the entire process by the Sales Department, checking out, car brought around to the door so I do not have to go look for it. My recent experience with Bob Swope Ford in Elizabethtown, KY was disappointing. I've purchased 3 vehicles from them and will not purchase another or take any of my vehicles to them for any reason. I bought a new F150 Platinum at Legacy Ford in La Grande, OR, there was a small defect in the chrome trim on the consul. I identified this to the dealership and did not have time to get it repaired there. I took it to Bob Swope and they refused to repair it. Legacy Ford contacted Bob Swope and arranged to pay for the repair and still Bob Swope refused to correct the problem. I had to travel back to LaGrande to get the repair made. I called to get an estimate for repair of a seat belt. The lady that answered the phone was RuDE and inattentive! I explained right up front that I was needing to get an estimate for a seatbelt repair. She proceeds to get contact information from me and ask what I wanted and when I wanted to bring the car in. I said all I wanted was an estimate. She said that will be a $75 fee! I proceed to tell her for a safety issue? She says if there is a recall I I would need the vin number and it wouldn't cost anything....(I don't have the vin the car is away to college with my son) I told her just forget it and she continues to argue with me about it. Terrible!!! #1 how dare they bill somebody to tell them what is wrong with a car and #2 customer service sucked! Went to bob swope for in e-town ky. Buying experience was typical for car dearlers- they try to rip you off and you try to keep from getring ripped off. Car dealers are kinda crooks by design. Its what they do, face it. However, i did get a vehicle from them at a price i thought was fair for the vehicle. They let me take the vehicle for the day to check kt out and such and during the day we dealt and they wooed and kissed up via text. We made the deal and. Went home. Now mind tou the sale was done but there was. Cou,e minor things that were expected but forgotten so later that day (monday) i called and texted the rwo sales people i dealt with and no reply. Each dAy i sent text and voicemails to the individuals and no reply. My messages were just simply asking about any spare keys and the code for the door. Polite and professional. Then finally friday. Had enough and sent 1 text to both of them and it was expressing my dissatisfaction with their rude and unprofessional behavior. No cntext as to who i was. They proceeded to blow my phone up. So, when polite and such i got nothing but when i got pissed they all of a sudden are at my service? And they had my number saved because, as i said, i gave no context as to who i was but their messafes were full of context. My velief is that all week they just blew me off when they seen my messafes but when damger of me causing them problems came ro be they were right there with excuses and crap. Were their exceuse legit. I doubt it. They sent nothing all week but when i sent the complaint text it was under 30 seconds that i got replies. I didnt reply back to see what would happen. And they sent text after text after text. You decide. After the sale service is as important as vefore and during. Well I bought a 2015 ford escape from them...there was a squeaky brake issue so I made an appointment for 2 pm to have them look at it and got there 20 mins early at 3 pm I asked about it and the service girl said they couldnt hear a squeak...I guess it took an hour for that...when were they going to tell me...so they asked me which way I was turning when it squeaked and I said both ways so they decided to check it again it is now 350 no word going to ask again but there is a lady sitting here with me whose been waiting since 9am so I guess I am lucky!!!!! read more

So normally i don't rate places unless there good because i do believe accidents happen. So lets start from the beginning(sorry for the long write up) i had an appt to have my car looked at on a friday after noon. I showed up an hour early to only be told i didnt have an appt ( which i have email confirmation) and even if i did there was no mechanic on duty to look at my car, no biggie right. So i got an appt for the following monday. I dropped my car and asked for oil change as well. They called and told me that they had to order the part and my car was ready for pick up. Once i picked it up and asked about the oil change they said wasnt done it was a miscommunication, once again no biggie because i have to bring my car back to get the part replaced they can do it then. My appt was for friday to get the part fixed dropped it off and asked for oil change as well. I go pick it up friday night once i got the call it was done, since my car was in the lot i looked at before i went in and noticed the tires weren't rotated, so i asked about the oil once again it wasnt changed. They gave me appt for the next day to get it changed so i show up talk with somebody that was under the assistant service manager since he was unavailable explained my frustrations and they actually compd. me the oil change which i was great full for but that was not my intent. Then the next day i go to drive my car and my oil light comes on stating low oil. I checked under the car to make sure there isnt a leak which there wasnt so my only assumption is they didnt use enough oil since mustangs take one more quart than normal oil change!!!!!! Sought a new 2017 Explorer Platinum and Laura Gray, Bob Swope, sales person provided text book customer service. You know, the service you desire and seldom get. At first we went to local competitors and felt more like a piece of beef than a customer. Laura walked us through various vehicles we eyed and was extremely patient. From offering us something ro drink from the start, a big plus in my wife's book, to showing us (and knowing) the features of the autos. Could hardly believe this was her first sale. She had just completed the courses to sell cars. Swope personnel performed like a close knit team from finding our desired car, to providing all discounts possible, and to closing and signing the paperwork. We have bought many a car in our days and this was a buying experience that ranks first or second place. It is a close call. read more

The WORST EXPERIENCE at a service place, I have ever had! Took vehicle in for a recall, check air conditioner and fix left blinker. They kept calling with more stuff wrong and the price keeps climbing. The vehicle i have was bought new from Ford and well-kept in the garage and never had any issues, never been wrecked or anything. Just recently out of warranty. The problem came with one part they said it needed to be replaced which was not a usual part you repair on a air conditioner. When asked what was wrong they said it was bent which was strange since the air conditioner had never been worked on before. When time to pick up vehicle firs they said we have to keep all weekend which they already had it overnight. Then when my husband said okay I want to see the parts that were broken and an explanation of what was wrong (sounds simple right?). Next in about an hour they call back and all of a sudden it was ready to go. Okay. When you get there first they do not want to show you the part, then after insistence they went to get the part, and now it was not bent it would not seal correctly. Okay how would that have happened? We asked. They said someone went in there and broke it. Okay we have never had any work on the air conditioner on this vehicle we bought new and the only owners. We changed oil, filters, etc. Then either it came from the factory like this or it happened when fixing? Now we are liars and we went in there and worked on an air conditioner that had never been worked on. It does not end there. Okay I want my bill. Well, I have to add it up. They you stand there for 10-15 minutes waiting for them to decide how much you owe them and the bill goes form 400-800.00 dollars. Really. I can see if air compressor was out of the air conditioner but for hoses and a line? I paid and left but I will NEVER BE BACK! You can tell when you are being ripped off. I helped someone buy a new vehicle from them. He wanted a hitch, but they couldn't find a vehicle with one, so they agreed that they would pay a garage to install it. The buyer told them that he would wait a few days for them to get the hitch installed. He picked up the SUV after everything was done on a Friday, drove it home and while he was learning all of the electronics he couldn't get the remote start to work. He tried everything, read the book several times, but it just wouldn't work. He called them on a Monday morning and it took them till Wednesday to realize that no one from the dealership installed the Dealer Installed Remote Starter. They acted like it wasn't their fault, they kept saying its a Dealer Installed Item. Now he has to take the vehicle back to them and leave it a day to get the Kit installed. We are wondering, what else did they not check before he picked up the vehicle. How can they sell a new vehicle without check that everything works? read more

The service center here is horrible! I would not buy another vehicle here based on that department alone. When I purchased my preowned Ford Focus they "threw in" free two year scheduled maintenance. Well that is not a true statement from them at all. I found out later, way before my two years of having the vehicle that it is "two years, four or five oil changes or over a certain amount of miles." That is what one of the individuals at the service desk told me. This was after I left my car there to be serviced. Also every time I've taken it for an oil change it takes a ridiculous amount of time, I've waited around four or five hours. One time I was told that I would receive a call once my service was done and they never called. I showed up to check on it and they were closing up shop. I had to catch someone on the way out to unlock the door and get my vehicle for me. And just today I was supposed to have a part replaced. Yesterday they told me it the part would be in by noon and it would be replaced today. I called this morning to check on the status and they tell me that it won't be in until Monday. I didn't even receive a courtesy call. My car has been there since yesterday and they wanted to keep it until Monday! I can not express enough how unhappy I am with this service center. I am going to get my vehicle from them now and I will never be back. I will be sure to tell everyone I know how awful my experience has been as well to discourage anyone from ever visiting this service center. read more

I found the vehicle that fit what I had been looking for, a 2013 Taurus SHO, on the website for Bob Swope Ford in Elizabethtown, KY. The actual transaction of purchasing the vehicle was painless and the sales associate was very accommodating and friendly. I decided to purchase the vehicle despite discovering that the dealer had permitted the vehicle to be driven as a demo by a salesperson and the mileage was higher by 3500 than the website indicated. There wasn't much I could do about the mileage, but it should have been my first hint that something was off with a dealer that is putting that many miles on cars they have posted for sale online with the odometer reading documented. The financing process was also uneventful and satisfactory. Because this was a Saturday, the detail department was closed and the Cilajet sealant that was part of the purchase couldn't be applied that day meaning another 2+ hour drive from Nashville would be required. I scheduled to take a day off and made the trek to drop off the dealer. They tried to give me a little loaner Focus but ultimately provided a decent Explorer Sport which seems more appropriate considering the inconvenience. My son and I spent the next 6 or so hours in Louisville making the best of the day. We finally picked up the car and it looked very good and headed home to Nashville. Now this is where the issues began; not knowing the service history I took it to my local dealer and had them do a complete service just in case. In the course of doing this I found out that the vehicle had never been run through any sort of service at Bob Swope Ford at all despite them clearly driving it regularly through a service interval. Additionally and most alarming is that despite the vehicle being on their lot long enough to accumulate 3500 miles and my separate visit back, they completely failed to discover and carry out 2 safety recalls (for your reference the specific recalls are 13S04 Fuel Delivery Module Replacement and 14S10 Right-hand Front Half-shaft Retention to which I will let you look up online and decide seriousness for yourself) that my local dealer considered serious enough to recommend not driving the vehicle until they were completed. I was also informed directly by their used car manager that their standard policy/procedure if for no used vehicle to EVER leave their lot with outstanding safety recalls, not because it is required on used cars, but because it is in the best interest of their potential customer's safety. I contacted Bob Swope Ford in writing asking that their GM please call me. The gentleman who did finally call wasn't the GM but he represented the dealer. This representative was very cavalier about my concerns on their lack of concern for customer's safety to which he casually dismissed my concerns and stated that I should have found them myself using a Carfax report. Their attitude was indifferent and dismissive. I don't typically take time to write reviews but I want to make anyone I can aware that given the option, they should consider any non-Swope Auto Group owned dealerships since this apathetic attitude towards their customers safety is likely systemic throughout the organization. read more

Do not bring your vehicle here for repairs. Our 2011 Ford Sports Track broke down on 1/17/2016, it was towed to Swope Chrysler were we had purchased it back in may of 2015 (it had an exhaust leak when we bought it and the salesman never did squat about it) after speaking with the service manager Monday morning at around 9:30 at Chrysler and listening to him tell me that they did not have the "hook ups" to diagnose the truck he offered to have it towed to Swope Ford I gave my blessings. I did not hear anything back on Monday, on Tuesday I called Swope Ford (9:30 am) no one had looked at this truck but I made sure they had all my contact info, I called back at 2:45 pm and they were just beginning their diagnoses. On Wednesday morning I called again, I was informed that the issue was with my left hub assembly and some sensor's and I was looking at close to 900,00 in repairs, I told them to proceed. Have I mentioned that each time I called I would have to speak with a different service manager and bring them up to speed, did I mention the snow storms that were forcast that week while my 4 wheel drive truck that I paid 25,000 for just 7 months earlier just sat there. At 1:00 pm Thursday afternoon I called to check on the truck, the service person proceeded to tell me the diagnoses, I informed her that I already knew what the issue was and asked her why no one had started on this truck, I gave the go ahead to proceed over 24 hrs ago, she said she would look into it and call me back, at 1:30 and said the tech was working on it, at 4:40 pm she called and stated that the repairs had not fixed the issue, so they misdiagnosed the truck, Friday morning at 9:30 am I called, it was snowing hard and Swope was going to close probably until Monday and no they did not know what the problem with the truck was, Swope will leave you stranded, their sales men will not arrange for minor issue's to be repaired even when they are aware of them, Swope will not stand behind its vehicles. I have had three vehicles go to Swope for repairs and each time I have received a run around of misquotes, long repair times and inconvenience, and the only time they will call you is when the Vehicle is done, they want there money on time. When and if my truck gets done it will never see the inside of a Swope garage again, I will take it to Knox Ford, as for my Crossfire I will take it for its service's elsewhere even if that means taking it to Louiseville.
