Took my 2010 Venza to the service department to diagnose the power steering damper. Brought the car in at 10 am. I never authorized them to do any other work other than to diagnose the problem with the damper. At about 2 pm I called multiple to determine the status of my vehicle. I finally got a friend to drive me to Bob Tyler. When I received the text/video of what was done to my car included checking the battery, tires, fluids, exterior, engine and cabin filters, etc. . I never authorized those services. I just wanted an estimate of the damper repair. They charged me 191.89! NEVER bring your car there for servicing!!! It is a rip off!! read more

The car salesman straight up told us that if we are going to leave a review, only leave 5 stars because management allegedly holds less than 5 against them. I think it is pathetic to manipulate your customer base into doing that. They are not afraid to use all the dirty tricks, they don't communicate internally well so they leave you waiting forever, and if you are trying to do something with them that doesn't directly involve money into their pockets, they ignore you and keep you waiting longer. This is the second time we have had to redo our temporary tags with them and at the end of it all, we found out they STILL haven't sent our registration package to the DMV. Make an appointment and they will have you sit and wait for the salesperson at a table until the salesperson is ready. NEGLIGENT SERVICE TECH, DISHONEST MANAGEMENT, AWESOME SERVICE ADVISORS!!! This dealership is the worst I've ever dealt with, only positive thing about them is the charismatic services advisors. SHOUT OUT TO BRANDI AND GREG FOR BEING THE BEST!!! Brought my truck in for periodic maintenance, was advised to replace my brakes pads also. Upon picking up my truck my steering wheel had excessive shaking, so I immediately returned to the shop. I asked to have a different tech look at my vehicle, as well as speak with a service manger, because I suspected my wheel wasn't put back on correctly. I was informed all service managers/supervisors had already left for the day and they still gave my truck back to the same tech. The tech, Jacob R, tried to claim it was a tire balancing/tread issue and added extra weights to my front wheels. However, prior to arrival my balance was fine, plus it was just checked. After picking my truck back up it still didn't feel completely right so I took it directly to Discount Tire only asking to change my lug nuts. Discount Tires lead manager and tech informed me my front tires were counter balanced and whoever did the job was just staking weights everywhere. I called the very next business day, asking to speak with the GM, but she was still out. The next day Victor, Service Manger, called me with the GM listening in but not responding. I informed him about all the issues and he seemed concerned and helpful. Victor asked me to give one day to sort things out and promised to make things right, on top of other things. The next day Victor called me, gave me a 30 minute window to call back, I called back with in 15 mins with no answer. After three days, I reported this to Toyota Brand Management, but unfortunately Victor is also the liaison for corporate and was making notes in the system saying he called me back two other times but he hadn't. The first time Victor called me he left a voicemail, the "other two" he never left a message, so he was trying to avoid me or clearly lying because I had zero missed calls or messages from him. Three weeks after not hearing anything from Bob Tyler the Line Supervisor called me, because Brand Management opened another case, however after all this it was clear the dealership and leaderslacked integrity so I decided to just cut ties. If you have similar issues don't hesitate to asks questions; if needed report it to Toyota Brand Management for their records and so they can establish a pattern. I did all my service with Toyota, a lot with Bob Tyler, for my truck and my wife's Rav 4. To include my wife just purchasing a brand new car from Bob Tyler two weeks earlier! I understand mistakes happen, but all I asked was for my brakes to be looked over by a second technician, after everything that happened. Instead, we were charged every single time. When the mistake was finally caught by one of their own employees, we were promised a refund check that never arrived. For months (close to year), I've called over and over, been transferred around, and told "someone will take care of it." To make matters worse, when I finally spoke with Dana Tyler (who I believe is part owner), she was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. The purchase of my Toyota RAV4 in late Feb 2026. I Love the vehicle, its very comfortable and great gas mileage. Lots of room for traveling and leg room. All these things make for a great driving experience. That is where it ends, the overhead compartment to store your sunglass opens every time you shut it closed. The AI is always and interrupting my conversations and thinks I am asking it Questions. The vehicle outside is not very sturdy, the RAV4 exterior feels like its made from a ginger bread house. Overall its a very poorly constructed vehicle, and I know that you guys are in the business to make a profit, but this vehicle is as shabby as a model car. The Radio volume has to be turned on, every time I start the vehicle. But let me tell you about the purchase experience, I was given a price on the trade in on my 2025 Toyota Tacoma and the financial guy didn't catch it on the trade on the contract, and I didn't catch it either, to be honest. However 2 months later I was going over my contract and notice that I didn't get the trade in value that I was promised to proceed with the trade in and purchase. I didn't need answers and I don't need anyone to call me. Just know that you lost a customer for life. I met Mr. Tyler many times and you are about the customer first. Maybe you need to evaluate your hiring practices. Service area is outstanding however. read more

How Bob Tyler Toyota Treated Us After Our 4Runner Was Stolen From Their Lot We're sharing our experience to shed some light on how Bob Tyler Toyota in Pensacola handles customer care when things go wrong. On Friday, June 20, we brought our 2024 Toyota 4Runner (purchased from Bob Tyler Toyota) in for a scheduled maintenance appointment. During this appointment, an employee left our vehicle unattended with the keys inside, and it was stolen off the dealership lot as a result of this negligence. Later that same day--with our vehicle still missing--the General Manager (Bob Tyler's daughter) sat down with us and assured us they would "make us whole again." She offered us a 2025 4Runner for what we still owed on our stolen 2024 model. Less than 24 hours later, our stolen 4-Runner was recovered by the police after performing a PIT maneuver on the vehicle. Toyota had the now damaged vehicle towed to their dealership where conversation continued about a replacement vehicle. The GM suggested we try out a Grand Highlander, knowing that a third-row seat was important to us. She also told us the third-row seat was not an option in a 2025 4Runner (which is inaccurate). After leaving the dealership to take time to consider our options, the GM called to notify us she was withdrawing her offer and stopped replying to our calls and texts. Since then, Bob Tyler Toyota has abandoned us. We had to file a claim with our own insurance (USAA) just to secure a rental vehicle to use while our damaged 4Runner is in the body shop for 4-6 weeks. The value of our vehicle is now significantly reduced due to being stolen, pursued, and damaged, through no fault of our own. We have had to retain legal counsel to deal with this situation, navigating conversations with attorneys, insurance adjusters, and law enforcement. Our lawyer sent a formal letter to Bob Tyler Toyota on our behalf, respectfully asking them to honor their promise and help us resolve this situation. As of today, they have refused to even respond. Bob Tyler Toyota may not have stolen our car but their negligence enabled it and now they refuse to take accountability. Their silence speaks volumes. DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM BOB TYLER!!!!! Timeline of Events: Friday (Day of Purchase): During the test drive, I noticed a malfunction with the blinker and mentioned it at the dealership and was assured it would be fixed prior to taking it home. I assumed it was a minor fuse issue. Saturday: After confirming the issue persisted once home, I contacted the dealership. When I received a callback, I was surprised to hear it could be rodent damage -- not a typical response to a new vehicle concern. Sunday Morning: I looked under the hood and discovered chewed wiring. I took photos and immediately scheduled a service appointment. Monday Morning: At drop-off, I was told by the service advisor that rodent damage isn't usually covered under warranty. I insisted on a full inspection and written report and requested a warranty for any future related issues. For which I received neither. I then spoke to a sales manager, who said they would reach out to ownership. During this conversation, the service advisor confirmed the visible damage was isolated and would be repaired for free. I requested options for an extended warranty, a vehicle swap, or even a small service credit to protect myself from further issues. All were denied. My prior trade-in -- a 2025 Land Cruiser -- was even offered back to me, but at a markup above what I had just paid for it. Ultimately, the sales manager denied that the damage occurred prior to delivery and said I was responsible since I had taken ownership, despite the issue being flagged during the test drive. I was told by the Sales Manager the repair will be warrantied for one year and that my comprehensive warranty may cover it, but any additional rodent damage found later would not be covered. This is unacceptable. The issue was clearly present before delivery, and your team attempted to shift the blame instead of owning the problem. And yet again this dealership failed to stick to their word. Monday Afternoon: When my vehicle repair was completed, the Service Advisor showed me the work that had been completed. There were still pieces of wire from earlier sitting on the frame. At that point I was also informed that the same tech that fixed my car had done a very similar repair to another vehicle that had been on the lot prior to mine. This indicated to me that this was in fact a known problem to the dealer, which makes the response I got from the Sales Manager even more disturbing as I wonder if other customers had experienced similar treatment. As for the detailed report of the diagnosis and verifying there were no other issues I received essentially a 2 sentence statement and nothing else. Tuesday Evening: Bob Tyler management responded via the BBB and stated they fixed the damage as a goodwill gesture since it "may" have occurred prior to delivery. If Toyota requires dealers to perform a Pre-delivery Inspection, then why was the non-functioning blinker not identified as one of the required items? I brought the issue up during the test drive and was assured it would be fixed, which furthers the point they did not complete a PDI as the issue would have been identified and fixed with no further issue. read more

Terrible buying experience today. We had picked out a truck we wanted to buy and negotiated the price of the vehicle. I drove to the dealership and did a quick test drive of the vehicle around the parking lot. While waiting to finalize the deal at their desk, I was told I couldn't purchase it because someone had beat me to signing only minutes before. Although I didn't get the older gentleman's name from the parts service, he got me in as an emergency walk-in after I mentioned I was from California and couldn't get an appointment. I drive across country and never in one location for too long. But he called the mechanics, and they checked my van, discovering a transmission problem. Bob, the driver, took me to the rental place to get a car, as the repair would take a week. Alan Miller did a fantastic job assisting me, from having the mechanics check the vehicle and fixing it, to getting me a rental car and arranging for my van to be picked up and brought back to California. They really took care of us here. We went in looking for a used car. The whole experience was pleasant and great. We were happy with the car and deal. Sean was our salesman and he was great. Then our car broke down on the way home. We ended up having to pay 410 dollars to have it towed back to them. They reimbursed us for that. They got back to me when service and managers came back in the next day. They did more than I expected and offered to get me in a different car. They didn't have a lot in my price range. They ended up doing an even exchange for us with a car that was worth 2,000 more than the one I originally bought. Gave me new tires, brakes, and the works on the second car. They kept the car after we looked at it to ensure they could do what they could do give it to us with everything possible done. They then delivered it to our house the next day. They really took care of us and made sure we weren't stuck with a lemon. I didn't have to beg and plead with them. They made it clear they were going to take care of me from the beginning. I was just hoping they would fix it. I was pleasantly surprised when they offered the exchange. Mulitiple managers were on top of it as soon as they found out. Find a dealership who's up front, honest, clear about terms, finances, and don't go for double talk and long hours of sitting and waiting for the salesperson to get back to the desk each time you have a question...as I did at Bob Tyler Toyota (Tabatha salesperson). I went to the dealership the beginning of November 2023 to purchase a car after an accident, (I still don't have the money from the insurance company...but that's another story) I'm in my 80's and like my life uncomplicated but Tabatha tried to change all that. It's now December (no refund) after speaking to the sales manager (Paul) a couple of times, I'm now experiencing his promises to refund my $1000.00 deposit to my account.
