This is Bob Utters response to my review of his business. Keep in mind that he has never met me nor has he seen my vehicle. He is standing behind his service writer who is misguided and unacknowledged pertaining to Ford Factory Equipment. "The fact is your after-market mirror is not covered by that policy. In fact, it is a general rule that no after-market part is covered by any extended service policy. We would be happy to try to find some common ground with you as far as a solution is concerned. We will give you a call on Thursday, April 9th to see if we can help." First of all Bob, the mirror was and is factory installed. People don't spend $65000k on a truck just to install aftermarket mirrors. Second, don't bother to call Thursday as the mirror was repaired today at Bill Utter Ford, Corinth, TX. And covered under warranty because it is a factory mirror. Also, I told the service writer at Bill Utter Ford about the drivers door needing adjustment, just as I did your service writer Roy; whom couldn't understand what I was talking about, and again Bill Utter Ford came through and adjusted the door without being condescending toward me. Both repairs cost me $75 because I have a $100 dollar deductible. What you are left with is a dissatisfied customer that cannot recommend your business to others. At 51 yo I have a lot of experiences purchasing cars, not to mention some experience selling cars early in my career. I believe a 5 star rating is reserved for those businesses that EXCEED expectations. I spent several days doing research online and visiting several dealerships. My expectations are simple. Treat me with respect. Don't BS me. Have a fair price. Make the buying process simple and quick. So, imagine my surprise! I contacted the dealer via web chat about the vehicle listed on cars.com. It was quick and easy to find out the vehicle was there. When I arrived, I was greeted immediately by the Internet specialist Chris. Considering I drove more than an hour to get there, we were off to a good start. Almost immediately, I was introduced to Jay Townsend, a very proficient and pleasant sales professional, who would work with me throughout the buying process. Jay had the vehicle washed and ready to test drive. The vehicle was exactly what I wanted and was priced $2500 UNDER Blue Book. Also, Malcolm Ross is the best finance guy I have encountered at a dealership. Pleasant! Accommodating! Straightforward! Malcolm was able to get me a lower interest rate than the Credit Union! He only discussed warranties and options relevant to my purchase, not a bunch of nonsense that I did not need. He designed the perfect package! I started the paperwork process, but had to finalize some things before making the final commitment so I had to leave without finishing the purchase. In the car business, customers that leave, most often, do not come back. Jay and Malcolm treated me with respect and understanding. They followed up with me that day, but didn't pester me. I went back the next morning and finalized the purchase. I was done with the paperwork in 10 minutes. I had a personal tutorial on the tech features in my new purchase. AND! They delivered the car to my home in Grand Prairie! So, would I go back to Bob Utter Ford-Lincoln for a future purchase? Absolutely without a doubt!! And I would buy from Jay every time because of the care and concern he has for putting customers in the right vehicle! Jay Townsend and Malcolm Ross are the kind of guys you want to work with when buying a new (or new to you ha ha) vehicle. They LISTEN more than they talk! The way it should be. They respond with the exact, right information. No BS. No games. And finally, I have never met Bob Utter. But, I heard his name a lot in the buying process. I heard about how he takes care of his customers, stands behind his dealership's commitments and how he requires they go above and beyond to satisfy its customers. Bob should be very proud of these people that work for him, because they definitely exemplify these values. I expect this dealer to be around another 40+ years with this kind of service and care. read more

***READ THIS BEFORE PURCHASING HERE*** I called in on Saturday, August 15th to make sure the 2 Stingers I was interested in were there to view and was told they were available. After driving an hour away, I arrived at the dealership to find that none of the Stingers that I had called about were there, not to mention the one I saw there was covered in dust like it had been sitting a while. Odd how the other two sold within the hour.... (Seems odd to me, maybe bait and switch..) Mike informed me that he would personally find me a Stinger from another location and proceeded to do so. A couple of days later he informed me that he had found one and sent me the information. We were talking numbers like you do when you are looking for a vehicle, and he informed me that I would need to fill out an application and I did. When I was speaking to Mike about the payment and getting it lowered he told me there is nothing he could do. I was trying to get the lowest monthly price, as that is what you do when searching for a vehicle. I informed Mike if we cannot get the payment to $500-$550 then there would be no need to run my credit. To this he said, and I quote, "does not matter now another salesman just sold it. i will try and get another one. sorry." Shortly after I noticed a credit inquiry on my report. I told Mike that it does matter because my credit took a 6 point hit! What I do not understand is after telling me he got this car for me, and I fill out the application to secure the car, someone else got it before me? Why was my credit run in the first place! This is either poor communication between work colleagues or poor customer service. Even after I told Mike my credit took a hit his response was, "It should bounce back in about a week or two" Who says that to a customer looking to spend 35k plus on a vehicle at your dealership? People take their credit score very seriously! If I am not mistaken, when someone is applying for a vehicle, policy is to hold the keys until the process is over. Not to mention this vehicle was supposedly brought from another dealership for me to purchase. Customer service responded very vaguely and took very little to no responsibility for their employee. All they said was they would have someone else reach out to me, which has yet to happen in over 2 weeks, and that the person there will always get the car. They know I live an hour away. Long story short I will never return to this dealership and I will never recommend anyone do business here. read more

We were shopping for a used manual transmission Jeep to tow behind our RV. We had the blessing of working with Farron Whitefield. He is a gem. We traded in our VW Bug for the Jeep. Had the worst experience from Bob Utter. I saw a car online that I really wanted. So I applied online. Had a female car salesman contact me to inquiry. I was having my gf go up there to test drive it but she couldnt because it was hot and come to find out the car had no A/C. I was denied financing due to no car payment history and had a co-signer with a good credit score. She didnt offer to suggest alternatives. All she said was we cant help you. My gf went out there to see the car and they insisted that they could get it fixed and would come down on the price. Only to go back out 2 days later to test drive it and the whole front end was put on incorrectly. Still had body damage. And after turning the car off, it wouldnt start back up. I was then referred to the manager, Kit, of which showed less quality customer service by saying that he couldnt negotiate on the price and he'll just keep it. Hmmmm. Mind you, I was disqualified but had a co-signer with a 650 credit. Nobody tried to work anything out with me, instead they sent me off and thanked me for coming out. Talk about quality customer service. They left me feeling like I didnt deserve the car, even when it didnt even start back up. Word to the wise. Treat customers the same way you'd like to be treated. Purchased a used 2010 Mercedes from Bob Utter Ford in Sherman, and found it a very easy, no pressure purchase. Even though the car came with no warranty, I found a oil leak a few days latter. Called Tommy the Sales Manager, and told him of the problem, and he told me to bring the car in and they would take care of it. Since the problem needed parts, and could not be taken care that day, gave me a loaner(live about 60 miles away), and the next day delivered my car back to my house and picked up the loaner. That's what I call a Five Star Dealer. They went the extra mile, which most car dealer would not do. read more

Got in touch with Tommy at Bob Utter through CarGurus about a 1 year old Ram truck. After multiple conversations he assured me that this vehicle was in excellent shape, went and checked it himself and he was familiar with it because he took it on trade from the original owner. I said great just wanted to make sure since I was driving 7 hours to come and get it. Got there and it looked great, so I started examining it starting with the interior when I noticed that there was a chunk of vinyl missing 9looked kike a dog had chewed it) on the center console, pictures on the web were taken so as not to show this. Personally, I feel that if you pay 35K for a vehicle (used or not) your first trip in it shouldn't be to Walmart for duct tape for the interior. If your going sale over the internet you should make sure that the condition of the vehicle is accurately represented. Moral of the story is that if you are an out- of- town shopper be aware that they might misrepresent something to you to get you on the lot. read more

First of all, I hate buying cars because of high pressure salesmen, won't give you the price, act like you are wasting their time, etc etc. Our experience today with salesman, Ryan Hill, was amazing. He made us feel welcome and answered all of our questions. When we asked the price of a vehicle, he had an immediate answer. Compared to other car salesmen I have dealt with in the past, Ryan definitely set the bar higher! Dustin McCormack was easy to work with in the finance department. Bought the truck a year prior to the bad experience. Had been to the service dept 6 previous times with only minor issues in service - this was my 7th trip to their service dept in the last year. I dropped off the truck on a Thursday morning and requested service (specifically asking that ALL service due at this time be performed) and I also asked that the do some repair work to various other items. Told them I would need the truck back no later than the following Monday. Was lead to believe that would be more than enough time. I actually figured they'd finish my truck sooner or at the very least I'd get a call to discuss any issues or decisions by Friday or Saturday but I heard nothing from them. Called Monday morning asking the status of my truck only to be deceived on the first call making it sound like the guy who does the front end work hadn't been available and they would need to call me back. So based on that call it sounded like that's all they needed to complete of all the requested service. When they didn't call back as I was told would happen, I contacted them again (45 minutes later) and asked how much work had been done they admitted they had done nothing at all to my truck. I got all the excuses but it appeared to me they had just forgotten about my truck until I called. I hate being deceived. Then when I showed up at the dealer they referred to me in my presence as an "Irate customer". Well, I'll have to admit when I heard that comment I did get upset. No furniture was tossed, no one was cursed out, and no threats were made. I had been lied to and then offended as I asked to talk to a manager. They really made me feel like all they wanted was to get me out of their dealership as fast a possible and be done with me. We agreed to work on the truck because I needed it for the next day. 1 of the items I asked to be repaired was not because they didn't have time since they had let 3 work days pass without touching my truck and they also didn't preform all the scheduled service on my truck that was due at that time. When I picked up my truck, the service advisor and manager that promised me they would get this all taken care of and make this right couldn't be found. So I've purchased a new truck and spent almost $1600 on maintenance over the last year to be treated in the way I was. It's like all of this was my fault and they simply wanted to get away from me as fast as possible. I've heard nothing from the management as far as a follow up and it's been over 2 weeks since this happened. I guess I've spent my last dollar at ole Bob Utter Ford. I hope this was an isolated incident. I'd hate to think they treated everyone this way. Poor costumer relations and poorly handled the entire situations from the beginning. I may be mistaken but I don't recall hearing an apology from the Service Tech that screwed this whole thing up. It was a very awkward & uncomfortable experience I don't wish to go through again. I find it odd as much as they want to thank the ones who give them 5 stars but when their are real issues they need to correct and show good faith in their customers they claim they treat like "family" but instead they run from the issues and hope they go away. Since my first post/review they did drop me from their email distribution. And to think their employees actually have asked me to please check the "I love my dealer" so they can get credit or a bonus or something on their initial reviews. I'd just like someone from their management to call and ask questions that are meaningful to correcting the issues, actually show interest in fixing their mistakes, and actually make one feel their business is or was important to them. A fancy TV commercial doesn't always mean they will stand behind their word and commitment to give good service and address their mistakes head on. However, when I got there I was also interested in looking at another truck and he had already picked that one up for me to drive. That is service above and beyond. After our truck broke down and we were stranded hours from home over the weekend, I called roadside assistance and they sent a tow truck from here. My husband, our three kids and I were stranded and the driver arrived in less than a half hour. He was very nice, friendly and helpful, and even took us to a hotel on the way. I am very disappointed in a purchase that I made from Bob Utter in 2015. I purchased a 2011 Ford F-150 from the lot and expected that since this was advertised as a certified pre-owned vehicle, it was a great buy at $27,000. After having the vehicle for a short period of time, I came to realize that it can't even go the speed limit without a strong vibration. Once the vehicle reaches 75 mph there is a strong vibration felt throughout. I have taken the vehicle in to the service department and been told that there was a bad wheel on the truck. I replaced the wheel and still have seen no improvements in the way this vehicle rides. After the most recent trip into the dealership, I was basically advised that the vehicle in riding the way it was designed and that I just need to get used to it. I find that to be an unacceptable resolution. I paid for this vehicle in cash. I saved for months to make this purchase and feel as though I was taken for my money. I expected a quality vehicle for the price that I paid. I am, instead, stuck with a truck that I can't even comfortably take on road trips. read more

The service department of Bob Utter are awesome! We had a hose pop off our truck turbo pump while pulling our boat to the lake for the Fourth of July weekend. Had no idea what had happened to our truck at the time and we had a car load of kids and dogs and thought we were in for a long day and perhaps a delay in our trip by a day. Took my wife's car in for basic oil change, no big deal, they found that there was an oil leak and could not pin point it. They cleaned it off and asked us to return later so they could find it. OK. Found that there was a leak where the axle goes into the transmission, again car has 80K miles, no big deal, and its covered under warranty, sigh of relief, no money out of pocket. Service takes quite a while, but maybe they had to get parts in? Who knows, unless you call them they don't update you. At least we are a two car household right? Pick up the car, and immediately, have to take it back, due to a grinding the front end, turns out its just a mistake by the technician, causing brake dust cover to rub against the rotor. I take it back, they fix it in about 15 minutes, "just bent it back into place". I don't know how they didn't catch it if they actually test drove the vehicle, it was a pretty constant metal on metal sound. Then wife is driving the car, and steering wheel is out of alignment, wheel is pointed right, car goes straight, also a terrible noise from the front end! Have the car towed back to Bob Utter Ford Service. The axle was loose and unseated from the bearing! "The technician didn't get everything tight." - quote from service writer. I'm just really glad that the axle didn't come apart at highway speed with my wife and kid in the car, caught the problem in a parking lot. I would avoid using the service department at Bob Utter Ford, as it is obvious that there is no oversight there, and customer service and safety are of no concern to the management there. read more

I had a great experience with everyone at the dealership. I had shopped online for a Ford Edge, and found an exact match to what I was looking for at Bob Utter. I live in Tulsa, OK, three hours away, but after Chris Hathcock the internet sales manager answered some questions, I headed down to Texas. The salesman, Tommy Ellis, greeted me by name even before I walked into the dealership. He was friendly, professional and very honest with every aspect of the deal. I received better financing through Ford Credit than my pre-approval with my credit union, and the final price was just what I was looking for. No hassles, no run-arounds, no, "let me go talk to my manager", just a great experience. Danny Smith expertly explained all the features of the car while the paperwork was being finished. The finance manager, Chris McClour was professional, friendly and extremely helpful with all aspects of the deal and the options I had. Bob Utter Ford SCAMMED me out of 450.00 and I know they have done it to others! If you used Ford Financing, please call them and ask if you purchased Theft Deterrent System!!!! If you did without your knowledge, then please call me at 469-774-3973. I am looking for other people who have had the same circumstances done to them. When I bought a car and used Ford financing, I declined all added customer options including Gap insurance. When I went to make a payment, I realized that the total amount due on my car was 450.00 more then what we agreed. I asked Ford Financing and they said that I purchased a Theft Deterrent System for 450.00 and that I signed for it. It was an electronic signature that I never got to see what I was signing for because the finance person never turned his computer around to show me what I was signing and I trusted Bob Utter Ford. They have returned my 450.00, but I know they have done this to others and feel they need to be stopped. I would have never known that I purchased this Theft deterrent system, as they DID NOT put a copy of the form in my paperwork. They claim this was a mistake, but I know it was not and I know they have done taken money from others. Please call ford financing and find out if you also were scammed out of 450.00 plus interest!!!! read more

I have to say that this was a a seamless car purchasing experience. Chris Hathcock contacted me after I made contact online, he was kind enough to text me a few more pictures of the vehicle as I requested. He was the ONLY Internet sales guy from any of the dealerships that was not pushy or blowing up my phone. At that point I was comfortable to make the hour drive to Sherman to check out the car. Chris got me set up with the most friendly and least pushy sales guy Jonah peters. He went above and beyond to make me happy. I was lucky enough to experience almost every aspect of the dealership from sales, body shop, parts and trade in. All of which were impeccable!
