Came here on a whim while driving to San Jose. Taro flavor was very off. My husband's mango peach smoothie had a very gritty texture as well. As another commenter mentioned, the service is mediocre. I was in town for the week and decided to check out one of the local spots for boba. I ordered one drink for my daughter. That drink took a little over 30 minutes to make. I understand that there was only one worker but people who ordered after us were getting their drinks first. When my daughter asked for the status of the drink the staff gave her attitude when replaying " I am the only one here so.." after she had already waited for 25 minutes . Other people were canceling the orders because of the long wait. When she got the drink, the order was slightly messed up as we had asked for light ice and about 2/3 of the cup was filled with ice, otherwise the tea and mango jelly in the drink were pretty good. We came on a Saturday in the summer so expect it to be packed. We walked in and were greeted by two polite young women. They were kind to offer help when we struggled with the self service tablet. Order 3 traditional Thai teas and one guava strawberry drink. While they were slow to make the order and we waited for 25 mins; the Thai tea was strong, creamy rather than overly strong sugary taste. We got lucky and found this place during its grand opening weekend so got a free bag! We ordered the mango peach smoothie, normally we stick to boba/tea but they were really expensive (more expensive than SF!). The smoothie was good though, you can taste the real fruit no artificial flavors. read more

I really want to like this place. It's clean, the staff are lovely, and the tea itself tasted good. Unfortunately the tapioca in my tiger milk tea was overcooked/soggy and bland (most places cook the tapioca in honey or some sort of sweetener to enhance the taste). This local boba shop opened a few months ago. When it first opened, I was so exited to try it! My mom dropped my brother and I off, and we went inside. There were a lot of options on the menu! I chose to go with the Thai Tea with boba, and they didn't ask me anything about the sweetness or anything. Another thing is the two bobas, (me and my brother got the same thing) cost $20 together! That's way too pricy considering there is a middle school full of kids who would like to drink some refreshing boba after school. It's too pricey for middle schoolers to afford! Anyways, when we finally got our drinks, I took a sip and spit it out! The tea was super bitter and tasted like grass. I had a feeling that there was going to be a problem like this. The drinks were fine but I like another place better. These drinks are also more expensive than my favorite location in Santa Cruz county. The place was clean and the workers were nice. It doesn't have an ear in or outdoor seating area. Pretty small so on a hot busy day I am sure getting in and out and getting drinks might be hectic. So today we were expecting a chill atmosphere, yet upon entering Karina our server did not acknowledge us and was a bit glum almost as if she didn't want to be there. We were a bit surprised to say the least. Upon ordering we both specified we would like boba in both of our drinks. So when the drinks were served that would not be the case. So upon asking Karina to correct her error and add boba to my drink she began to have attitude as if she didn't mess up the order to begin with. Since Boba Tea is becoming the new FroYo fad at the moment they are popping up everywhere. Capitola has allot of Boba interestingly. This is the newest one in town. To be honest I'm not huge into these Milk Teas or Boba drinks. But my girlfriend loves these Diabetes in a cup. I'll get one maybe once in a while.... I stopped by Boba Bay almost at about to close and the server was nice enough to make a drink for me. Very clean place and has good fresh smells of the Tea's. The server was very nice and friendly and was concerned how I wanted my beverage. Then again I was the last customer for the day. Bought a Mango Milk Tea with Boba and Lychee (sp?). I have to admit this drink was pretty dang good! Very tasty and smooth! Not to sweet and stirred very well. I can't tell you how many of these "top rated" Boba place screw up on there drinks either putting to much ice, OVERELLY SUGARY sweet, or WAY to creamy. Even telling the cashier/server what you want on the order. I won't name the places in Santa Cruz which serve Boba, but I've been to everyone in town. I'm not impressed with most. I will admit this is the best tasting Milk Tea Bar all the way to San Mateo which have some of the first Boba places in America FYI.
