Great selection of drinks and hookah flavors--plus you get to keep the glass jar and reusable boba straw for only $2 extra! More people started coming in around 10:30, but everyone was still respectful of the noise level and the staff was always checking up on everyone. Awesome service from Tommy and the team! He was able to patiently explain the hookah and boba options to us. As a basic Asian that loves gimmicks, having to walk through a service elevator to get to the hookah seating area was awesome. Love Boba Bear but hate this location. What a terrible service we received that we totally left. I love the boba bear hookah so much that I bought the shishabucks hookah set from them. However we go there boba and ambiance. We had a big group last night and sat outside. I understand due to Covid they require everyone get drinks and 1 hookah for 2 people. I always support local small businesses. But man that guy Jesus wasn't having it. Such a dry personality. 2 people in our large group don't smoke hookah. We said we order more boba for them but he said no. Then one of the friend had a kid but he was sleeping on a stroller outside( not next us and no customer was outside) he said we can't service you guys. He security will kick us out. I was shocked. Im a fan of hookah, this place has a great atmosphere. Drinks are amazing. Make sure you get the "D" its recommended. My friend josh got the large d and he choked on the first sip. Its a very GOOD drink. The serices are nice and friendly, brian, coco, jerrick amd jaime are my favorite worker, they turn up with me everytime I comes here. They played the songs I requested and joined my ratchetness. If you follow they policies and enjoy your fun, there shouldn't be any problem. I came here to celebrate a friend's 21st birthday, and I can say we all had a great time. I ordered a Thai tea (and had my own jar so yay). We also ordered Hookah, and I had this mix which was delicious. There were 5 of us, and throughout the whole night we just kept passing the Hookah along. The only downfall of the night, was that from the moment we walked in, the workers were playing on the Nintendo (or playstation) and they didn't allow anyone else to get a chance. Okay, so I understand ... a couple of rounds and what not, but my friends and I were there from 11:30pm, until they closed and never did they get up! At the end, they shut it of and started helping clean up, and my friends and I were surprised that they just didn't allow anyone else to get a chance. We were actually all a little sad. haha Anyways, if you're looking for milk tea and hookah, I can say that this places has nice vibes, and you can definitely have a good time, but I would recommend you bring your own board/card games. Luckily, we had cards against humanity, so I can say our night was fun. read more

I came here about a few days ago for my sister in laws birthday celebration and got ripped off $30 some dollars for a hooka I didn't purchase! Okay so I had to leave early and I went up to the register to pay for my boba I had bought ( the only item I purchased that night) and I also asked the guy if I could pay for my sister in laws hooka. He said yes and I told him, please make sure she knows it's paid for and doesn't pay for it. He said yes once again, no problem. Okay I paid $38 for my boba and my sister in law flavored hooka watermelon mint. Coming to find out later on the night that when they left and wanted to pay for their tab. The guys working that night made them pay for everything including the hooka watermelon mint that I had already paid for. I was so upset because the guy at the register told me that he would make sure it was taken care of and he even asked me twice! It just upsets me to know that we had to pay 2 time for watermelon mint when we only ordered 1. That makes no sense at all, and I won't be back unfortunately. And I am leaving a review because I hope this isn't the way the owner makes them run business. They said that when you purchase a boba you have to automatically pay for a hooka flavor. Usually I go to Koreatown for hookah, but I started to come here because of school. This place is the only reason I come here just to chill and spend some time studying. When I went to Koreatown with my friend, we had the White Peach and that was my go-to ever since. Today, got the 24K and I thought it was a good recommendation from the workers at RH. This place has gone down in a hurry. Used to love coming here when the Boba drinks were all good and the hookah was smooth. The bathroom has been gross for as long as I can remember but I didn't spend a lot of time in there so it was trivial. Boba now.. the actual Boba was hard and tasteless last couple times I went. The avocado smoothie went from a 9 to like a 5 (drinkable) When things like that start to rise to the top , you start looking at prices. This place is not cheap and the service staff are cool kids that do a pretty good job. I'm chalking this one up to very poor management/ownership and anticipate this place being out of business sooner than later. It's really too bad, I used to enjoy this place and bring new people all the time. Get it together or just close the doors (the giant glass ones that go BANG! every time someone steps into your place, ridiculous) fix that damn bathroom, play something other than ratchet & trap (or don't, nbd), let ppl have tongs to control their own charcoal in between rounds , and clean the place up .. it's falling apart. Staff = 9/10 young but super friendly and professional, need some training , very good at recommending flavors, sometimes what they recommend is not great but they hook it up if you don't like it. Hookah = 7/10 not bad, but not good for the price, they seem clean and packed well (see above) no tongs Drinks = 4/10 too pricy, too small, not tasty anymore, and ran out of Boba? Ambiance = 3/10 made for younger crowd , nothing cool about the look, super loud ratchet turn up music the whole time whether it's dead or busy. Pick one, is it a lounge or a turn up spot. Cleanliness = 4/10 dust on everything that has a light to it, smells like funk inside the gross looking bathroom, none of the dispense equipment works or its empty, but the toilet flushes and there is a mirror. read more

Not my kind of hookah lounge, but might be the best of both worlds for someone who loves boba milk tea and hookah. Came in after work to chill with a friend and as soon as we walk in we were not greeted by anyone. Kinda just stood there for a few minutes feeling a little dumb, but the friend I went with has gone there before (luckily) so he knew what to expect. For my first experience, however, it wasn't such a good first impression. The inside has a lounge-y feel with large sofas and pillows to chill and feel comfortable on. Definitely "chill vibes" all around. There's a mixed crowd of business people getting off work and really young 18-21 yr olds. They played some cool hip hop music and it wasn't too loud. The drinks we ordered were mediocre and nothing too special. Their hookah set-up was pretty legit, though, with their LED lights (I'm a sucker for lights and shiny things) and the flavor we got tasted really good!! (friend ordered) The service was decent once the guy actually appeared from the kitchen. Might come back only with friends to chill, but it's an average of $20 a person for an hour or so. Might be less if there's more people. If it's worth it to you then go for it~ As for me, I think I'm okay without it. Might be cheaper to buy your own hookah maybe..*shrugs* Located a little behind the stinky tofu place in the corner of the Hong Kong Plaza. Might be hard to see but there's a little sign outside. Yuck! Their boba taste like chemicals ust like the other review said. Even though I like the fact that it's open late when you want Boba after 1:00, this is just not a place for Boba. The drink tasted like it had hookah in it or some kind of ashes or something. It made my throat itchy like as if I was sitting in a smoky bar for hours. This place definitely emphasizes on their hookah instead of their drinks and food. Although the name would suggest that this place specializes in boba, it is anything but that. Instead, Boba Bear is a hookah lounge that offers drinks and crepes that is mandatory to order when you get a hookah. We got two flavors in the hookah (Twisted which is a mix of fruits and White Gummy Bear) which ended up costing the premium price at $22. On top of that, we got the hazelnut milk tea with boba, the strawberry milk tea, and a crepe. The hookah came out first, and it was very smooth. I like how they cover the coals and replace it often. On the other hand, the drinks were nothing more than average. The boba was hard to chew, and the drink itself was a little too sweet and superficial for my taste. The strawberry milk tea was also okay, but nothing special. The crepe was actually better than the drinks, and I would recommend that instead- they are generous with their fruit and nutella servings. We waited around 30 minutes to be seated; Boba Bear is definitely a good place to chill, talk to people, and play games that they have at the wall in the back. Service there was good, they weren't too overbearing but did check up on our table. In my personal opinion however, I didn't really like the vibe in there, so I probably won't be back unless a friend wants to go. read more

The hookah was nasty and the drinks were nastier. Well given that I don't like to hookah in the first place, my comment doesn't really count on that end. But I have had WAY better at Wahib's & Zephyrs.. But the drinks.. I'm at a lost for words because I only paid $4 for a drink I took a single sip of. My boyfriend asked for some recommendations on their best drinks and our waiter (who was very nice, btw) gave us a list of 3/4 drinks. So I, myself got the 808. Don't do it. I don't know what the f word I was drinking because it literally tasted like expired cranberry juice or something. It was so weird and gross. So I left it because there IS a requirement that you order a drink *insert eyeroll* ..so I thought "maybe it's just my drink that sucks" and then I try my sisters hot almond milk tea. And no. It was not just my drink. It was like drinking packets of sugar. Nothing close to an almond milk tea I've ever had. But whatever. We just had to all leave our drinks behind. We heard that there's a hookah boba place just opened in Rowland Heights, so we take a look. But the Second time we visit, the hookah we ordered wasn't as good as the First visit. There's no flavor, but according to them there is a flavor and it's really thick. Hmm, hello, we're returning customer and you're telling us that we're wrong. I've been hookah-ing for 10 years now, and we don't call it hookah from where I came from, it's Shisha. And now you're telling us that there's flavor on it. I want to say it's the ShotGun flavor; it's a mix of couple different flavor including Mint, but all we can taste is Tangerine... Hmm~ Ok. Third time we visit (not sure why we came back, even though I prefer the one in El Monte, because it's way nicer and service is good also) we chill and hookah again. And sadly, still end up the same. But oh well, we're already here. The place isn't that big or too small, decent size. It's inside HongKong Plaza on Colima, right next to this BOMB FISH BALLS place, which a really nice spot since they're between BOMB FISH BALLS place and also BOMB STINKY TOFU place. As for the drinks, some of them are good. I got Mint Chocolate Mocha - Hot, good choice I believe. Regular size it's about $3. Thank for helping and serving us well Jrok and Jammie! Nice employees. This place is a bit pricey, considering it's only boba. But it's understandable as A) they give you your drink in a mason jar and 2) their fruit drinks are from all fresh fruit, not syrups or powders. I got the strawberry milk tea with boba and my parents shared a berry smoothie. My drink was $5 and the smoothie was $6. My drink was pretty good. Not too sweet with a hint of strawberry. Even hookah that my friend bought from eBay is still better than Boba Bear hookah. Ordered ShotGun flavor under their Al Fakher Flavor, and it tastes nasty. It tastes like a toothpaste. Been here for 2 occasions, and both of them didn't meet the expectation of other hookah lounge that I have been too. FYI, drink is mandatory for everybody.
