Soju Tavern is an awesome spot located at the corner of the plaza. The ambiance of this place really stood out. It's dark with rainbow Christmas lights and moving lights in the place. A true tavern vibe. The menu is vast and you have the choice to get both food and drinks. I came here with a friend and we shared the pork belly + Kimchi dish and got a pitcher of beer and soju. Absolute delicious! The kimchi is good quality, and the pork belly was delicious. The staff is nice and the service is quick. I'll definitely be returning! Definitely a place with great vibes. We drove all the way from the Bay Area and were looking for somewhere that was still open late. Luckily, we found this spot, and it ended up being a fun way to wrap up our road trip. A couple of sojus and some solid drinking food made for a great night. We ordered the Kimchi & Pork Belly Tavern Special, and the portion was huge. The kimchi was especially impressive; I honestly wasn't expecting bar-quality kimchi, but they absolutely nailed it. We also got the popcorn chicken. It was a little mid compared to the pork belly dish, but still worked well as drinking food thanks to the seasoning and saltiness. The only thing that stood out was that I wasn't sure how strict they were about checking IDs. We noticed what appeared to be some very young-looking patrons drinking and getting pretty intoxicated around midnight on a Thursday. The server was even taking shots with them, which was entertaining to watch, and hopefully everyone was of legal age. There were also a few noticeably intoxicated young people hanging around the alley outside. Not that it affected our experience we were just visiting and don't even live in the area but it definitely made us do a double take. Crispy whole fried chicken. I basically ate the whole thing. I know its plain but hou get the salt and pepper to dip it with and the chicken is super juicy, not dried. The grill squid was good with the sauce it came with but we ordered the wrong one. We wanted the crispy one. We usually like the kimchi pasta but i think they mightve changed their pasta to something else so its different. Unless we were confusing it with another place. Service was really good. Friend split beer and we instantly got napkins to wipe everything. Came early so it wasnt busy but the place got packed by the time we left around 8ish. read more

Good vibes and good memories! Thanks for hosting all 30 of us! Came to celebrate our friend who just recently passed and got licensed as an official O.T. (Occupational therapist). So happy for her lol. We ordered about 40 bottles of soju and a couple bulgogi fries to share. The cheese was a nice finish on the fries. Very savory and right amount of saltiness. The wings were good, but not amazing. For the Soju we got the Saero Apricot flavored (no sugar). Cool tip, get a shot of soju and mix it with Terra beer and you get a nice flavored mixed drink. LOVE coming here. Parking is so easy compared to other korean pubs in the sgv and the food just always HITS! This is a perfect spot to come with friends during the weekend or shoot, just come on a week day night to avoid crowds. They have HH before 6pm where pint beers are around $5 and large booth seating so a group of 4 can easily fit. They can host bigger parties as well- which I appreciate. Don't forget the awesome kpop playlist they play here. Workers here are super attentive and are a vibe especially on the wkends! I always get their seafood pancake (must get!) and the sea snail stirfry noodles (addicting especially during the summer w/some beer). Wings weren't bad but I'd rather get the 2 above. I always enjoy going here with friends for a close to home fun night out (without having to drive all the way to Ktown XD) We always get soju and beer + beef tartar, kimchi pasta, clam soup and some other appetizers. Can never go wrong with those dishes! I've been there at least 4-5 times and always order at minimum those dishes. The ambiance is nice and dim too, perfect for just drinking, eating good food and having a good time. Came late at night after a long work day and was craving kimchi pasta. The restaurant gave off a cool, modern vibe and even around 11pm, the restaurant was quite packed! We got seated relatively quickly and after ordering, we got our food within 15 minutes! The fries were nice and crispy, the popcorn chicken was super crunchy and juicy and best of all, the kimchi pasta, I cannot describe how good it was other than it being a gift from God himself. Nice, creamy and full of flavor, I was half tempted to order another one for the ride home. I'll definitely be coming back again for the supreme kimchi pasta and hopefully bring some more friends along for the ride to grab some drinks too as they definitely had affordable prices for their pitchers and soju! read more

A gem of a place. From ambiance to service to food, had a great experience. We went on a Wednesday night and it was moderately busy. The vibe is duos and groups hanging out and drinking or snacking while catching up or playing games but it's not rowdy or too loud at all. The server was a big highlight and within a minute of being attended, i knew she deserves praise and good tips. She confirmed it was only her handling the tables that night ad then continued to answer all my questions thoroughly without any annoyance or rush. She helped us pick apps and drinks, and nailed both recs. Throughout the night, she was hustling, managing the floor well. The tables have a button to call the server over, which I liked, cut the awkwardness of flagging a server or being over attended. The AC wasn't working which was a bit uncomfortable but they kept checking in on us, offered apologies and there was a fan going. It did get fixed during our visit, which was better for our experience. NEGATIVE: I do have to comment on the bathroom. It smelled quite strong of urine and it turned both our stomachs. Luckily it was towards the end of our visit so it didn't affect our food at that point. But we had been drinking, so pair that smell w the alcohol, no AC and the disco lights, i did leave feeling nauseas. Regardless, i will return. Just avoid the bathroom. read more

The booths are huge so they can accommodate large parties, and you'll want to bring large parties because the food and drinks are worth it! Army stew was large but I thought the soup flavor was a bit bland. We asked for less spicy but I think the overall soup flavor wasn't quite there. Bulgogi fries were my favorite item we ordered with lots of sauce, cheese, and well-flavored bulgogi pieces but it was a bit too salty for my taste. I did not expect to find a place like this in Rowland Heights! It is small, but it has a good vibe for drinking. At first we were seated right next to the entrance which is much brighter than the tables inside. We requested to move to those tables once it's available. We already had dinner so we did not order food this time. I ordered passionfruit sojurita and it's quiet an addicting flavor. I wish they also offer hookah, but that's just me. We came here to watch the Timberwolves play the Mavs. They have happy hour from 5:00-8:00 PM for their drinks: $6 for pints, beer, and $10 for their soju. The California squeeze pint is delicious.
