    Sichuan Spiced Beef Tongue

Came for the karaoke & stayed for the food. The skewers & beef tongue were packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and seriously addictive. Everything paired perfectly with the atmosphere and great service. Good vibes, great food, and the perfect spot for a night out. Will definitely be back for more skewers and songs!

If you're looking for a fun Friday night, this is the spot. Great drinks, delicious skewers, and karaoke to keep the night going. Good vibes all around. Service is the best too! I forgot her name but she's amazing I recommend this place!

came here with my friends over the weekend & their service was ok, but not excellent! they are strict with their set rules, yet their overall service was bs! they had no air conditioning in their karaoke rooms, their microphones were not fully charged, & the food was ok, but not excellent as well!

I came in on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm, and my first impressions walking in was the interior is clean and pleasantly warm. I ordered the creamy mala seafood pasta since it was the most unique dish on the menu. Service was good but nothing special. Creamy mala seafood pasta, 2.5/5: The pasta was inoffensively average. There were some bites that were creamy and some bites that weren't. I honestly thought it could use more cream or butter to add some more richness. The pasta itself was al dente. There wasn't much flavor overall with the dish, and the mala was very mild (for reference, I can handle medium spice levels at other restaurants). The seafood quality was okay for the price. Overall, I thought the ambiance was really nice, but the pasta I ordered was average at best. Maybe I will give this place a 2nd chance and try something else.

Owners are so nice and cool, one is the chef and the other is a pastry chef. Atmosphere and vibes were nice in a Saturday evening, but food could be a bit better. It's fine for a casual dining but nothing really stood out to me except maybe the Kale salad that was good and never really had it that way before. Brother enjoyed his food and was happy with everything. With that said, we will still come back because the owners and atmosphere are still worth the trip. Maybe will try something else on the menu next time.

I am so glad we chose Hide Out Cafe in Rowland Heights to have our celebration. The food is delicious, the staff is so friendly, and the cafe is so cozy and welcoming. My brother was sponsoring our meal since he couldn't make it, so of course we had to go all out and order two drinks and two main dishes. (Thank you, big brother)! I got the Boba Bear Set $8.50, which comes with a drink and two house-made cookies, and my mom got their Tiramisu Latte $7.00, which is heavy on the coffee liquor, to be honest, but we had fun with it. The drinks are crafted beautifully, and with the open cafe concept, you can see they pay attention to the small details of their crafted drink menu. The house-made cookies that were a part of my Boba Bear Set are not to be forgotten. The cookies are buttery, decadent, and delicious; they are the perfect tea cookies to pair with! I can't wait to go back and try more of their fun drinks and maybe bring a study book the next time. For our main dishes, we shared the Chimi Wagyu & Frites $35.00, and the Fresh Avocado Toast $19.00. We both love eggs so of course we had to get something with eggs in our dish. My mom loved her avocado toast, and they were very generous with the avocado as well on there. The salad is a definite hit with us and included a great dressing on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly on top of our toast and steak. The frites with my steak were crispy and seasoned well. I also loved the chimi sauce with my steak as well. The portion was huge so we were able to take some back home to enjoy another day. Overall, my mom and I had a great experience and would absolutely come back for another sip of their lattes and try another fun drink on their menu. We left with happy smiles and full stomachs, and can't wait to come back soon.

At that price point, we expected better quality and were left a bit disappointed. Grilled Chicken Salad (4.2/5): The chicken was served cold, and the dressing tasted exactly like Kewpie Roasted Sesame dressing straight from the bottle. It was decent, but nothing stood out. Popcorn Chicken (4/5): The chicken was tender but lacked flavor and wasn't crispy at all. It also came with the same salad as the grilled chicken salad, which felt repetitive. Coco Matcha (3.5/5): The matcha was very grainy, bitter, and astringent. The coconut water seemed to be from a bottled product and had very little flavor. I was expecting something sweet, refreshing, and smooth, but it ended up being the opposite. On the positive side, the service was excellent and the food came out quickly. Overall, while the service was great, the food didn't justify the price for us, and we probably won't be coming back.

We ordered a variety of skewers and sides: - Smashed cucumber salad was refreshing and one of my favorites veggie dish - Lamb and Beef skewers were decent and tender - Special pork jowl had a good fatty texture and great flavor. - Grilled eggplant and scallops were decent as well. Some items were more hit-or-miss for me. The signature chicken wings came out dry & overcooked, and the chicken skin was super crispy almost like air-fried chips -- personally I prefer chicken skin freshly grilled with a softer texture. The beef tongue skewers were sliced too thin, and okra were dry. Service was understandable for how busy they were, but it could be hard to flag someone down during peak dinner time. Overall, I'd say the food quality was okay but not the best skewers I've had, especially at around $50 per person for our group. Still, it's a convenient and lively place for late-night skewer gatherings with friends if you're in the area.

It had delicious pieces of eel and fresh arugula on top with bits of seaweed. Eve the crust was good - soft but also had bite to it. I would definitely come back for this one. The vermicelli Singapore noodles were only okay. It needed a better spicy chili sauce to make the flavor come out more and was a little dry. The other two dishes are keeping the rating higher and I'd like to try out some other things before making a final verdict. Service was okay - not great but not bad. Crab omelette fried rice: the best dish of the night! The crab and omelette are nicely cooked, not overly salty. The rice to egg+crab ratio is great. It is not spicy, the seasoning is just right. I highly recommend this. Mango sweet sticky rice: not bad, just alright. We think the sticky rice is too soft and soggy, not chewy enough. The coconut milk is served on the side so you can pour it based on your preference. The mango is perfectly ripened, very sweet. Tom Yum Noodle Soup with seafood: our least favorite dish. The noodle is very soggy, there's really no texture to it. I know there's the word "noodles" in their name, but we definitely do not remember this noodle option at all. The tom yum soup was not great either, the spiciness is way too strong, so you can't taste much of the sourness. The seafood variety was ok, there are shrimps, fish fillets, mussels, squid, and fish balls. The texture of the squids and fish fillets tasted a bit weird. Their service was nice though we got sorted at a corner, so we had a hard time getting the staff's attention. The restaurant has a very unique decorations. There are a lot of figurines, pictures and statues. Overall, their dishes are either really good or the complete opposite, not sure if I would want to go back again.

You probably don't need a reservation coming in here on a weekday night, but it's good to be extra safe to do so haha. We were seated on the farther side, which honestly the partition makes it kinda harder to flag someone down. It does feel more intimate and enclosed with the partition being pretty high, but harder to flag someone down lol. The restaurant is also pretty small as well, but most of the servers were on the side where the kitchen was. We ordered the chefs recommendation along with the wasabi octopus. My bf also got a couple of beers in, so the total for two came out to be 200 with tip. As expected if you're dining for a wagyu experience. All components of the set came out fairly quickly. Starting off with the appetizers, which I wasn't too much into the cold meats but the one with the salad tasted better. Then came with the meat with sukiyaki, this one was pretty nice, but not the best I have tried in my opinion. Then came the meats for the grill, I wasn't sure which one was which, but I enjoyed the one that was shorter and more square as oppose to the rectangular looking one lol. The grilled meats were really good! I did also really enjoy how the banchan was very fresh. Then came the bibimbap which was also really good! I appreciate how there's a lot of nori in it, so it makes it so flavorful. Overall, it was a great experience dining here! I heard this place was here before Chubby Cattle, and in my opinon, I do think I enjoyed the food at Chubby Cattle more, but I liked how it wasn't as overstimulating. Especially it's not too loud, nor flashy, nor the overwhelming amount of food options, so it's a nice change of pace of a wagyu experience. I also asked if they celebrate birthdays here, which they got to bring over a frozen cheesecake that tasted like it was bought at the Japanese market next door lol.
