Solid late night drink :) My lil bro and I went here cause everything is closed after 11pm and we're craving boba. Surprisingly this place is still open. My bro and I were being cautious cause the ambiance looks like a Walking Dead episode at night and no one is around. We just went to this alley looking sliding door to order.. like something in a horror movie haha. We ordered in a kiosk and we didn't see our server til he handed our drink.. it's damn sketch but thrilling to say the least lol My bro and I ordered their regular boba milk tea in a cute bear container. Alright we're sold cause the boba is quite good. One of the best experiences that we had in a boba joint! Overall, hell yea I would go here again especially around 11pm.. shit is cool :)
Great shisha place, and they also sell amazing boba. I love getting Thai tea here; it's perfectly sweetened. This was my first time visiting the Rowland Heights location. I usually go to the one in Koreatown, but this location is great too. It's spacious and has plenty of free parking, unlike the Koreatown location, which is valet only. The staff here are very friendly.
I only came here for the boba after seeing the cute bear shaped cups that they came in. I didn't go into the hookah bar section so I can't provide any review on it, but based on the drinks alone, it was a little disappointing. The Thai tea was overly sweet and lacking the distinct Thai tea flavor, and the boba was a little hard. My friend got the passionfruit green tea and it was better and the right amount of sweetness. Even though the drinks weren't the greatest, at least I got a cute plastic cup out of it! It's located in a quiet alley of a plaza, so it can be a little hard to find. Service was quick and our drinks came out fast, and there was even a claw machine in the store that we played with while we waited for our drinks.
Honestly not an ideal place, especially with the other options in the area. I went with a friend and the entirely experience was a bit eerie from the start. The place is located in what looks like a hidden back alley, with no open signs or indicators of business taking place here. After entering through a sliding door, we waited until a worker popped out like we were in a movie, and we ordered. While waiting we wanted to check out the place, and I think this is where I felt the most unease. They have a back room for hookah, and while checking it out, the worker, who was alone, walked up to us in the middle of making our drinks and asked us to leave since we weren't smoking. It was a really weird experience with a really interesting man. It felt like we were in a business acting as a front to be honest, which might not be the case, but the overall experience was really weird. Anyways, we got our drinks and they weren't good at all. The honeydew slush didn't taste like honeydew and the mango tasted more like papaya. Not a good time at all, and I felt a huge sense of relief leaving.
This boba spot is a little hidden from the road because of a large white tent covering the name of the spot. If it weren't for previous photos, I wouldn't know where to find it. What I liked about this place is that if you want to enjoy the bar area, there's an entrance to the right that will lead you to a seating area. I wanted to do a quick boba order so I made my way to the left where there was a kiosk for me to make my order. The order process was easy and there were a lot of options. I ordered the strawberry milk tea and it was very good. The milk tea was creamy and had all the flavor but wasn't too sweet. I didn't really speak to anyone until I got my order, so I can't really speak on service. The boba was made pretty quickly though so I was happy about that. This is also next to a restaurant that had an off-putting smell. Other than that, and with how difficult it might be to find, it was a good overall spot.
Starting with the positive first, the drinks made were decent. I used too good to go app to get 2 drinks at a discounted price. They literally made it while i was there so its not quite in the spirit of too good to go but rather simply discounted prices on drinks the house chooses to make. Technically customer service was good once I got the worked to come out. However, when i first stepped in, i thought that maybe the business was no longer running. I stepped in and it was completely quiet. The big tablet with payment system, the lights, claw machine, and really amything that would indicate its still a functioning business was off. I rang the bell a couppe of times and called out to no reaponse for quite some time. Just as i was about to ask for a refund on too good to go and report the business defunct, I hear someone in the back say something. It took maybe a other minute for the guy to come out and it seemed like they had a bad foot or something. The whole store in general seemed like an abnadoned store and a little unkept. Anyway, overall the cups are cute, customer service was good, and drinks/boba were maybe average or a little bit above.
Staff was completely welcoming and nice to us. Amazing people, atmosphere was sleek and modern. The music was good and the atmosphere is very laidback. Thank you to Yexi and Randy for taking the time to explain and recommend us good combos. We will be back again and recommend everyone who wants a taste of a fresh environment to give this place a try!!!
Came by because they were on too good to go. Listing stated "fresh fruit" drinks with decent ratings on both apps so I figured I would come by and give them a try. While the containers are cutely themed, milk tea and Thai tea are not the fresh fruit drinks advertised that I was expecting. Response from the staff is that it's whatever is left at end of day which makes sense. But tell me you're going to tell management to correct it and offer some sort of fix for my experience. Maybe their other stuff tastes better but these were subpar. The boba included with the milk tea was also subpar. I have better tasting instant stuff with boba for cheaper at home. The entrance into their inside seating was pretty cool with a faux elevator. Thought that was a nice touch.
My friends and I had a good time here. The server was friendly and attentive. The prices were decent. There was enough seating for groups. The vape was just $5 so good for the time there as it wasn't strong and probably will not last long. The yogurt soju wasn't strong but it was kind of a creeper. They also have happy hour for $3 beers late night so we also got some beer. This is a great place to hang out with friends. We played games while we drank, vaped, and smoked hookah. Overall cost for 4 people was under $100 without tip. However, there is a surcharge for whatever reason... There isn't too much variety with the games, but it's free!
Amazing place!!! I love the service and Yecxy was very helpful and attentive. I got the Thai tea with boba and we ordered a flight with all four drinks, they were so good you couldn't even taste the alcohol! Would come again. Watermelon green tea tastes exactly like watermelon juice and the Thai tea was a little thinner than I like but still good.
So, it was my friend's birthday and we were looking all over for a good hookah place. It was kinda late. We had such a great time! The place looked really nice inside. The guys working there were really sweet and friendly. They treated us well and did a good job with the hookah mix. Overall, everything was perfect. I was here because I heard they had a One Piece Collab. When I went andbthey dont have the middle one anymore. They still have Luffy and Chopper left. The glass bottle they have is pretty nice. However, when you wash the bottle the logo would come off if it touches water. The drink and bottle together cost about $16 so a but expensive. Also, the drink is mediocre compare to lots of boba places in the area. read more

After grabbing dinner in the local area, my friends and I found ourselves caught in a bit of rain. We began searching out a spot that was open into the wee hours of the day, provided a chill lounging atmosphere, and offered some refreshment options. At the top of our search hit was Boba Bear cafe in Rowland Heights. The Cafe (4/5): The store is located in a little alleyway space in the Hong Kong Plaza (right next to the fishball stand). Right when you enter, you are greeted by the golden glow of the "Don't judge my boba belly" neon sign and the bear lamp near the front counter, which provide a warm, charming, welcoming aura to the entrance. The front counter holds a copy of their menu which lists all their drinks and hookah offerings. Behind the counter is a table and shelf which showcases a hanging board with recommended drinks and their current merch. On this visit, I was pleasantly surprised to discover they were doing a One Piece x Boba Bear during this time. I really enjoyed looking through all the plushies and One Piece x Boba Bear glass flasks they had available. To enter the main lounge, you pass through some faux elevator doors near the front entrance. It gives a bit of a Tower of Terror type vibe with its vintage, ornate appearance. Through the "elevator", you enter the dimness of the spacious lounge area, which is only disturbed by the twinkling of the vibrant, changing colors of the hookahs on each table top and the constant, low glow of lightbulbs hanging above. In the back is a brightly lit bar area where one can order more things from the workers, grab cups of water, fetch utensils and napkins, etc. At first, I thought the fusion of a boba cafe and hookah lounge was a bit strange, but I actually immensely enjoy this combination. This is a perfect spot if you and/or a group of friends want a leisurely place to sit back, take delightful and relaxing puffs, sip refreshing and aesthetic drinks, and converse into the late hours. Drink: Shimmering Pink Lemonade (3/5) - I wanted to make sure I got the One Piece souvenir flask, so I asked to see what I could order to get it. I believe I had to choose between this lemonade or their Shimmering 24k golden tea (a sort of honey lemon mix). I ended up ordering their Shimmering Pink Lemonade ultimately, which normally costs about $7 on its own. The total came out to $15, so it was about an additional $8 for the speciality glass flask. It's suppose to shimmer from the sparkly mix they swirl into it, but since it was kind of murky inside, I couldn't really see it. The pink lemonade was just alright. It kind of had that artificially sugary and tart lemonade flavor you kind of get with like Minute Maid or something like that. I definitely enjoyed the flask and environment much more than the Pink Lemonade itself. As a side note, they offer a full array of hookah flavor and brands (single for $25, mix for $30, and house blend for $35 - $3 extra to add ice). Choices include Al Fakher, Social Smoke, Fumari, and more. Flavors included mint, watermelon, peach, ambrosia, lemon, guava, apple, and so on. All-in-all, I thoroughly enjoyed lounging at Boba Bear. The hookah and ambiance are all terrific! I look forward to visiting another night just to unwind. read more

Yelpers, I got stuck in mad traffic on my way home from work to the high desert. I yelped hookah bar and Boba Bear popped up. The place is clean. The boba was amazing. LJ was my server. She helped me pick everything out. I will be back. My only gripe is no food, I'm used to the Mediterranean hookah places but amazing spots right next door for food and if your clean they let you bring food inside. read more

Although I preferred their layout as it used to be with the sofas, came in on a late night & enjoyed my time here. We came in around 11 & even tho they close at 12 we were able to have a quick puff & some nice soju. Andrea & Veronica were awesome & made us feel welcomed even tho we had a little of time. Definitely recommend their boba as well, comes in a glass cup & if you bring it back you get 10% off your drink order on your next visit, it seems smaller than it used to be but still looks great! read more

I did not know what to expect of this place but Boba and Hookah are two of my favorite things. This is one of the few locations around California in Rowland Heights. You order up front and are served once you are seated. I had ordered The Original Milk Tea, and the Watermelon Tea for the drinks and a Mint Hookah. The best part is that this place is a speak easy style lounge so as I made myself look like a fool trying to figure out how to enter the premise; it was pretty cool. They have TVs and a bar style set up for preparing hookah and the drinks. It's dim lit, but a decent sized hookah lounge. The hookah hit pretty well, and the teas were both very tasty. It was impressive. Only down side I would say is that their booth side seating is extremely hard and you will get sore after sitting for a few hours. But that's just my opinion but it's nothing to keep me from coming back. read more

Great service from Alexis! She made sure we were comfortable, was kind, and was working her patootie off with the many customers trickling in for boba. Nice ambiance and cutest cups at a boba spot ever. It was a bit pricier than hookah spots I go to, but we'll still be definitely coming back. read more
The new and improved boba bear is amazing! The makeover was well needed and it is better than expectations. I dont want to give too much away with the new look, but know that the hookah bar is still there. One of the things that i love about Boba Bear is that their products are just over the top amazing. The hookah is not only one of the best EVER, but their drinks are also great, each having a wonderful flavor. In my opinion i think everyone needs to check this spot out. I was told that they MIGHT open up a bar soon! read more

BOBA BEAR!!!! My fave place ever. Got here at 10:30pm on a Saturday night. First time at this location and it's a cool lil hidden spot. It's located inside Hong Kong Plaza but you gotta follow the lights through the alley. Once you walk in it has a super cute front as it looks like a store front then you continue down the hallway to a doorway to the room. Ps - they do sell merch. It was a full house but the vibes are so chill. The music was great and the tv was playing tattoo wars. Everyone must order at least one drink to sit in. I ordered an original milk tea with a bottle of soju and mannn, so good! We also ordered a peach hookah with an ice base and it made the hits so smooth. Also, Great customer service!! Found my new hang out spot by the house! 10/10 would recommend! BRING BACK THE BUBBLES!! read more

As an avid hookah smoker, Boba Bear is my #1 hookah lounge. My friend and I come at least once a month together. The mixes are tasty, the clouds are thick, and the best part is it's consistent. We've never had a bad experience smoking here. The staff is super helpful. Our server today, Lydia, came by replacing our coal like she was reading our mind. It's a great place to chill, talk, and if you have any work to finish, the wifi is strong and there's tables and outlets everywhere. We you Boba Bear! read more
Haven't had Boba Bear in years! If you're just ordering boba, you can do that in the front. Behind the boba shop, is a hookah lounge. There are lots of tables and hookah station. The environment reminded me of a lounge. Their playlist was a mixture of edm and mainstream. Tried their watermelon flavored hookah with an ice base. I also got a mangoberry green tea with lychee jelly. It comes in a cute bear jar. Good combo and chill vibes! Also love their "don't judge my boba jelly" neon sign upon entering. read more
This place just went through a recent renovation and it looks like a complete different restaurant. It's more so something like a speak easy with a two-way elevator as your way in. My friends and I went for a few boba drinks / Hookah and all went well. The service was good and the hookah was excellent. Something about the actual hookah or the way it was hitting, just made the smoke thick and not harsh. I would have gave five stars but the boba was pretty bad. The drink was decent as I ordered the 24k milk tea but the boba was as hard as a rock. It may have been because it was the end of the night, but either way it was like chewing on gum. Not the good expensive gum either, the cheap five cent bubble yellows you get from the ice cream man that drives around the ghetto. Aside from the boba, everything else was great. Would definitely revisit - just might spend my boba money on another hookah. read more

Aside from the cool glass jars the drinks are just okay. My butterfly lemonade on ice was really just lemonade with food coloring and at $6.00 I could've just went to get a lemonade from chick Fil a and had a better tasting experience. This place has outdoor seating and a hooka experience if you'd like to enjoy your drink with your flavored hooka under an awning. It's open late so if your in the area you can pickup some food from other stalls and roll on by here to chill. read more
