I'm such a huge fan of Boba Guys. Their matcha and boba are so delicious! I've had their regular matcha latter, strawberry matcha latte, caramel matcha latte, and the horchata matcha latte. You can't go wrong with anything here. I get mine with milk instead of regular dairy milk. But I wish they had coconut milk as well. It is slightly overpriced to pay five dollars for a matcha latte with boba but it's a nice way to treat yourself every now and then. We struggled to find the actual location after parking because it was hidden in a corner. It is right next to Lululemon & not in the outer facing side of the mall. The does get pretty long but moves fairly quickly. It's worth the wait!! I love that they use bamboo straws to be eco friendly. read more

I was excited to try Boba Guys after I had been hearing about how popular it is in the Bay Area. I love this location in the 2nd and PCH shopping plaza because it's the perfect place to meet up with friends or take the family to enjoy some food/drink outside. The menu here is definitely different than other more traditional boba shops. If you're looking for a good milk tea, this is not really the place. The traditional milk teas are done much better elsewhere. The drinks they are more known for have very bold flavors. I've tried the mango sticky rice and strawberry matcha and both were good but very sweet. I would come here with the expectation that you are having dessert rather than a more causal tea/drink. read more

My little sister got me super into this place. They serve amazing Korean style boba and something very special called banana coffee. I cannot express how addicting this stuff is. The place gets packed so be sure to order ahead of time. Afterwards there's plenty of places to walk around and look. OK, so Boba guys is my absolute favorite bubble tea from New York City, until they closed all the shops there. So I was quite delighted to come and see so many Boba guys in California. However, I was really sad to find out that they have discontinued grass jelly as a topping in their drinks, and having driven all the way to Long Beach today, I was doubly disappointed, to find out they also ran out of almond jelly. While the Matcha latte and the bubble is still good, my favorite was the bubble, plus grass jelly, plus jelly, and that is simply no longer available. Totally get it, supply chain issues, staffing issues, but that plus the raised price where a cup of bubble tea is now eight dollars before tip, I'm starting to think I might need to seek other shops sadly. read more

I love boba guys. This was my first time visiting this location but it is consistent with all the other locations in terms of drinks. This location is a little hard to find since the location on yelp is a little off. First of all it is in the 2nd&PCH shopping center and between Lululemon and noble bird. It is an outdoor stand and there's seating available but it is breezy. There's no charge to upgrade your milk btw. We tried three drinks. The jasmine green tea, the dirty horchata, and a lychee green tea. Of all 3 I was pleasantly surprised by the lychee green which was sweet and fruity and something I haven't tried before! The dirty horchata was my least favorite but it has a lot of caffeine from what they told us, it was a little too bitter for my taste. read more

First timer finally trying out Boba Guys with my friend for after dinner treat passing by so many times before. Ordered Matcha Latte with boba and Korean Banana Milk. We told the employee that it was our first time and after taking our order, he let us know that if somethings wrong with our drinks to let them know and they would remake it for us which was kind of him to letting us know. When we picked up our drinks he gave us a free complimentary strawberry tea drink to try as well. All drinks were delicious and I only didn't enjoy the boba since it wasn't freshly soft and chewy, being hard to chew. I will be back to try other drink items without the boba next time. read more

The customer service here is amazing! The people are so nice and friendly. The only think I didn't like was that it is outside, somewhat on a patio, but it wasn't that big of a deal to knock off any points. I had their oat milk Strawberry Matcha with boba and it was soooooo good! I was worried the strawberry was going to taste artificial or be too sweet, but it paired very nicely with the matcha. I definitely recommend this place if you're trying new boba places in the area. One other downside was that their boba was kind of hard, rather than chewy and squishy, but it might've been a bad batch or something. read more

Boba Guys is the new boba kid on the block and it's one of the first tenants at the swanky PCH and 2nd. First thing, this isn't your typical Lollicup, Cha for Tea or your typical mom and pops boba store. Boba Guys fills a milk tea niche utilizing 'small batch drink making' and offering only the highest quality of ingredients e.g. using Strauss Family Creamery organic products. They also limit their product offerings to just drinks so that they can focus on their milk teas. What this all means is that Boba Guys is able to price their products at a premium price - $5 for a small or $6 for a large drink. But are their drinks really that much better? I've had their iced Hong Kong style milk tea and just today, their Matchata. Personally, while the Hong Kong style drink was good, it tasted just as good as the better milk teas I've had from other places. The wow factor just wasn't there for me. The Matchata fell far from my expectation - none of the notes (vanilla, creaminess and cinnamon) you'd expect from an horchata was there and the matcha flavor was too subdued for me to enjoy the drink. I respect what Boba Guys are doing and they'll probably do just fine at PCH and 2nd. But for me, I can't justify paying that much for my weekly milk tea fix especially when I can pay a dollar or two less for something that's just as good - I'll stick with my 7 Leaves or Cha for Tea for now. read more

I've never been to boba guys but I've pretty much saw them all over my friends instagrams. This is my first time in Cali in a while so we decided as a group to try this on our way back to our Airbnb. I had a ton of black sugar drinks while I was in korea so I missed it. Boy do I love hojicha. It's pretty much roasted tea. I love it! Upon recommendation I went with the staff members advice and just did the regular sweetness and ordered the black sugar hojicha. Though it is sweet it was still delicious with the balance and off set of the sweetness from the hojicha. I'd say I can go down a percent because I love hojicha but if you're not a fan of that tea then yeah I'd suggest regular sweetness. I wanted to go back again before leaving to try something else but it was out of the way. But I want to go back and try everything! They do have seasonal drinks. read more

Lucky for us, Boba Guys has come to Long Beach! I have not visited the location in Los Angeles or San Francisco, but the Long Beach location was a great introduction to their drinks. This location is located in the 2nd & PCH shopping area near the parking structure closer to LuLu Lemon. Parking in the structure is temporarily complimentary as of 1/24/2020. This may change soon, there are parking prices posted at the kiosk. The location has outdoor seating ONLY. I had their Matchata (Matcha & Horchata) with boba and my boyfriend had their Strawberry Matcha with boba. Their boba was fantastic, chewy, tasty, and firm. Their matcha was top quality. I enjoyed their variety of milk options and the option to adjust sweetness level. Please note, you cannot adjust the type of milk with the Horchata containing products because the horchata is pre-made. The cashier was very knowledgeable on their drinks and made helpful suggestions on a when it came to adjusting sweetness level, etc. They had seasonal products when we visited including Oolong Tea and an Earl Grey tea. I appreciated their use of biodegradable straws. We visited around 4 pm on a Friday and only had 1 person in line ahead of us. We had our drinks in less than 5 min. I can't believe it that Bobaguys now in Long Beach. Tucked in the shopping mall 2nd and PCH, Bobaguys place can be hidden. If you come here, do not park where the Whole Food Markets is. Drive down to the other entrance and just right outside of parking structure there is the Bobaguys store located. Same concept and everyone did the COVID 19 precaution accordingly. Straws also nicely wrapped in plastic wrap. Now, onto the drink. I always get their special Strawberry Matcha Green tea with Almond milk with Boba. The drink is so refreshing the matcha is not overwhelming, the almond milk is sweet, smooth and silky and the strawberry fresca was spot on, not too thick, not too liquidy, perfectly created with enough sweetness without the tart from strawberry. Altogether, these combinations make a heavenly matcha drink that taste beyond comprehension. I am not exagerrating, but from all the boba places, I haven't found anyone that can match Bobaguys Strawberry Matcha Green tea. Drink on!!!! read more

Gave this place multiple chances over and over again but I cannot hold my tongue anymore. Ordered about 5 drinks today and the quality of the drinks were not great at all. Yes they told me and gave me the option of trying the drinks before and if I was not satisfied to go back and exchange it. But we were in a rush and did not have time. We haven't been in SoCal for a while and hadn't seen boba guys outside of SF before so we decided to try this one! I would give 3 stars for the drinks and boba but gave an extra star for customer service from Ryan. We got black sesame and matcha latte, half sweet with boba. The drinks were way too sweet and the boba wasn't as soft as usual and was not the best texture. We've had their matcha latte in SF so many times and it never disappointed, so I was surprised that I couldn't taste much matcha this time, which could also be due to too much honey. The black sesame drink was a little gritty as Ryan warned, but that didn't bother us. The taste thought was interesting in a way that we didn't enjoy. When we told Ryan, he graciously said he could make us a new drink and we asked for hojicha latte which came out in about a minute (!) and ended up being much better. This Long Beach location is within the 2nd & PCH shopping center. We ordered delivery via DoorDash, which arrived quickly. The cups, straws, and packaging were all biodegradable. I did not expect to order a caffeine free drink from a tea shop, but I could not resist their signature Horchata. The creamy, cinnamon studded treat is made with house made rice milk-no powdered mixes here! The boba was the perfect soft/chewy texture. The Black Sugar Hojicha was even better, packed with roasted green tea flavor, and sweetened with rich kuromitsu syrup. My only complaint is that the sweetness and ice levels are not customizable at Boba Guys. I generally like my drinks 50% less sweet, with less ice. I hope they consider offering this in the future. Though their boba prices are a bit steep compared to other shops I think it's worth a little splurge once in awhile. I also really like their brown sugar hojicha if you're not in the mood for something fruity. Only tip is to order online in advance since they don't take orders at the counter. First time trying boba guys in so cal!!! I've been to the sf location and loved it out there so I had to make a stop here when I came to Long Beach. You have to order online and they have a code to scan that takes you to the website to order and the drinks come out very quick. My favorite drink out of every boba shop I've been too is definitely the strawberry tea Fresca from here! It's so refreshing and the perfect sweetness. I also got the jasmine green milk tea which had the perfect tea flavor and the matcha latte which wasn't too bitter. They have the best boba and it's the perfect chewiness. Matcha latte - i ordered the 16 oz iced matcha latte with the substitute of oat milk. I also added boba as a topping and they will ask if u want honey in the drink which I said yes! The drink tasted really light but refreshing. I got 50% sugar (which is the recommended) but with the honey being added, it is on the sweeter side but it's not overwhelmingly sweet. It was the perfect amount! Strawberry matcha latte - not a fan of the drink because i personally don't thiink strawberry and matcha mix well together. Boba Guys is a small stand like shop located in 2nd & PCH by the parking structure opposite of Whole Foods. There's no interior seating, everything is outside so bring your jackets! I was planning on ordering their Matcha Latte but saw that they had a seasonal Black Sugar Hojicha for the month of December so I decided to order that with oak milk and boba since I'm a big fan of Hojicha. My husband ordered the HK Milk Tea with 50% sweetness. The Black Sugar Hojicha was really good. It had the strong roasted tea flavor that hojicha is known for and the oak milk complimented it well. The drink had just the right amount of sweetness for me, I usually order drinks 75% to 50% sweetness but this was good as is. Their boba was good, it was soft but still had a nice chew to it. The HK milk tea was also good but a bit sweeter than what I usually prefer. Side note, their straws are made out of bamboo fibers and biodegradable which is pretty cool because I hate it when paper straws get soggy! Overall, I was pretty happy with my the Black Sugar Hojicha, I'm hoping it becomes a regular menu item! I'll be back again next time to try their matcha drinks. read more
