Made to order loose leaf teas! Love that they have oat milk and almond milk alternatives. Unfortunately, their fruit teas are made with syrup + fruit preservatives. I ordered a jasmine milk tea w/ almond milk. The pearls were not sweet, but they were soft and chewy. They're also slightly smaller than the standard pearl. She made my drink in under 2 minutes!! Love fast service :)

Randomly popped into this place and got a teriyaki rice bowl + vietnamese iced coffee with boba! The vietnamese iced coffee is strong the way i like it. you order from a kiosk and can specify the levels of sugar you want . it slaps hard!!!! Teriyaki bowl was filled with generous portions! The chicken was fresh. Sauce was the perfect teriyaki . you can chose which items to add on in the bowl some add one are extra $, others are free of charge . Highly recommend!!!! will be coming back for sure when i'm in Novato. Right in the shopping center so easy parking ! Staff ( Lee , the owner is super nice and welcoming ). He explained that they order the seafood whole and cut it themselves so it's fresh

I love their green tea boba

    Poki bowl

Everything you love about sushi restaurant into one bowl. I really love the amount and the variety of toppings you can get without any additional cost. The fish always tastes very fresh and delicious. Definitely recommend!

Salmon and Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl

Salmon and Ahi Poke Bowl with all the goodies was amazing. Super fresh will definitely come back.

Store front. I should have taken the pic while this location was filled with happy customers.

My mom and I love this place. The husband and wife team are very friendly. It's a fun place to hang out and enjoy some light conversation while enjoying a handcrafted Boba drink. Yummy!!!

House-made lemonade and honeydew green milk tea with boba.

This is my first time trying the boba here. I love the house-made lemonade; it's fresh and refreshing. The service is 10/10. It's definitely recommended, and I'll come back to try the poke bowl.

Review #012 - 2026…read more Our group of 11 showed up at around 2 PM on Friday, June12th. The guy, who appears to be the owner, was not very pleasant when we asked him questions regarding their drink offers. I try my very best not to drink artificial sugar or food color because it's bad for my health! He stated that they use powdered flavorings and syrup so I assumed they were artificial so I decided not to get anything for myself. The kids all got a drink and as you can see from my pictures, the colors are very artificial! They all said their drinks were just ok! One of my sisters is highly sensitive to sugar as it will affect her palpations so she asked if their matcha had sugar and the owner said, "no!" so she decided to order her avocado shake with less ice and added a scoop of matcha. Sadly, the matcha powder has sugar in it so she went to let the owner know and he gave her a terrible attitude saying that she was being hard to please. For someone who has no health issue, a little sugar won't affect them. However, if your body can't process sugar, it makes a world of a difference. He kept arguing with my sister and finally went to bring out the matcha package and sure enough sugar was listed as one of the main ingredients. If you are in the business to sell food, you should know what is in your food products before telling customers that something isn't in that item, just in case a customer has an allergic reaction. I am very forgiving, but I do not like people who are too lazy to check before telling me that something is or isn't in my food/drinks just for me to find out after I've already ate/drank it! The worst part is rather than apologizing for your own lack of knowledge, you choose to argue with your customer to make them feel belittled! We are definitely NOT coming back to this place! Minus 10 stars for poor customer service!

2.5 STARS kuma cafe…read moreis a small cafe serving quick bites and boba, conveniently located in downtown san rafael. even though it's in downtown san rafael, i've never had trouble finding street parking nearby. since you order on a tablet, there's not usually anyone behind the counter until the food comes out. it seems like there's only one person working, so it can sometimes take a bit for things to come out. i usually order online for a quicker pickup, although it's slightly more expensive. there are a few tables inside, but it's really a to-go place. - egg sandwich w/ salad (2.5/5): i love japanese egg sandwiches, so i really wanted to try this! the sandwich had a good kewpie mayo flavor, and it was slightly sweet. i enjoyed the flavor, but the sandwich was too wet and messy to eat. some of the mayo was dripping out of the sides. there were also small bits of tobiko and cabbage. it wasn't a big sandwich for the price, but it did come with a salad that was topped with a good sweet and creamy dressing - spicy tuna sandwich w/ chips (1/5): literally like canned tuna with some spicy seasoning, although it wasn't super spicy. it also had some thick slices of cucumber and red onion. the chips were kind of stale, and they tasted like they were supposed to be ruffles or lays salted chips. this was pretty disappointing, and i'm not sure why it cost that much - poke (2.5/5): pretty standard, and an okay portion for price. they offered all of the basic ingredients and different kinds of fish. my bowl didn't have a lot of fish in it, but they did give me a lot of tamago (sweet egg), which made up for the lack of protein. i ordered the soy house sauce, but it reminded me more of a bright ponzu. honestly, the ingredients didn't really taste the freshest, but i thought it was fine and the best food i tried here - jasmine rose milk tea (1.5/5): strong rose flavor! it was still pretty sweet at 50% sugar, and it got overwhelmingly sweet by the end. i usually finish drinks, even if i don't like them, but it was hard to finish - sando brown sugar milk tea (4/5): my favorite milky drink i tried! it had a pretty good black tea and chocolate malt flavor. i really liked the crunchy texture of the malt topping, although i think it could've used a little less malt and more drink. i thought this was very unique! - lychee dragon fruit (4/5): like a light lemonade! i didn't really taste the lychee. the dragon fruit flavor was subtle, but it was definitely there, especially at the end with all the dragon fruit bits. it came with lychee jelly, which made the drink pretty sweet - fizzy yuzu (4/5): literally a yuzu soda, which was tart and citrusy. it was a little too sour for me at first, but the yuzu flavor was great. i actually really liked the kiwi popping boba, which added some sweetness to the drink and curbed the tartness. the kiwi popping boba did taste like kiwi, and it was so unique! - momo peach iced matcha [seasonal] (1/5): the worst drink i tried... there was so much peach jam that it tasted super sweet, and the jam didn't even have a strong peach flavor. the amount of jam also made the drink extremely goopy, even after mixing, and i couldn't taste the matcha at all. i didn't finish this drink the boba here was inconsistent - sometimes it was soft and chewy, and other times, it was on the hard end. for the drinks that came with a topping, they didn't let me sub out the topping with something else. i would've had to pay for an additional topping in order to change it. overall, i'm not really a big fan of kuma cafe, but there aren't that many options in san rafael. compared to oddcha, i think kuma cafe offers more unique asian flavors, like dragon fruit or yuzu. when i'm working near downtown, i'll still stop by to get my boba fix but will head somewhere else for lunch.

The lady working there (an older woman) was just the sweetest. She greeted us with a big smile, welcomed us in, and even thanked us for stopping by. It really made the visit feel extra personal. We tried a few drinks: the Mango Fresh Milk with boba was light, refreshing, and not overly sweet which is perfect for a hot day. The Iced Matcha with boba was smooth and flavorful; I loved that it actually tasted like real matcha. I did ask for less ice, which oddly came with an extra 85 cent charge, but honestly, it was still worth it. My daughter got the Kuma Blue Cloud Raspberry, which was creamy, fun looking, and caffeine free! It's definitely a nice spot to grab a good drink and relax for a bit. The only downside is that they don't have a public restroom, which was a little inconvenient. Still, we'll definitely be back for more drinks and that friendly service!

It's one of those places where everyone at the table is happy with what they ordered, and the quality has been consistent every time we've visited. I had no idea Novato had such a beautiful gem…read more Nothing against the city but I live in Benicia. The only time I come to Novato is to go through Novato. Theres hiking trails or places where we go to get to the Ocean. In order to go to them, we have to drive through Novato to get there. But whenever we are out in Marin, we usually just defeat to eating a Sol Food(If you know you know...). Recently we wanted to try something different. Ayawaska is about the experience. A very bold name but from the moment you walk in, to the moment you start eating your food you will quickly understand why they chose that name. All the workers are professional but also very friendly. Their cocktails are all delicious. Theres something about taking a sip and peering out the windows and seeing the view. For a minute it really feels like we are in another world. They really chose such a cool location for a restaurant. For food, I saw the Paella adjacent dish on the menu and I immediately knew what I was ordering. Arroz con Mariscos. We did order some Empanadas. I hate mushrooms but I had a bite of the Empanada Veggie. It's all mushrooms dude...alllll mushrooms...but it was good. My favorite was the Empanada de Lomo. But both Empanadas were delicious. They had a nice flaky crust but had really generous fillings. The flavors were so dang good. But with the Arroz con Mariscos I loved all the fixings it came with and how it was decorated. All kinds of onions and bell peppers everywhere. The rice itself wasn't overcooked or undercooked. And most of all there were giant shrimps along with calamari and clams. Altogether this was a symphony of Seafood and rice. This probably could be shared between two people. Unless you are just really hungry. So long story short, I highly recommend this place. Sometimes you go to fancy places like this and they got the nice decor. Sure. They got a nice view. Cool. But at the end of the day, the meal and the overall experience is what matters right? Ayawaska is the full package. If you live in the area and haven't tried this place yet, you are definitely missing out.
