While visiting Petaluma the honey and I stopped into Pokemoto Petaluma to try out their sushi burrito and it was amazing! I went with the make your own sushi burrito with the sushi white rice, lobster, green onions and teriyaki sauce and it was so delicious. The honey ordered a boba with the incredibly tasty and tart popping boba and we split a sour sweet pineapple dole whip. I couldn't shut up about this place- my husband was like "yea, I know already!" It was THAT good! Everything was super fresh, and the kid that helped me was awesome and uplifting. Being my first time there, he was very accommodating and patiently explained all my options. By the time I got to my warm sushi riced delicious bowl, I was VERY VERY happy with it! I got the Aloha sauce on it (*highly recommend), Ahi tuna x2, seaweed, avocado, umame, ginger, green onions and regular onions. He accidentally put fish flakes on mine instead of what i **UPDATE** I brought my husband in... the service was half what it was and so was the bowl. I was shopping at TJ Max and decided to to eat around the area. I went to Pokemoto, it's a very cute spot. I got a regular size poke bowl with salmon, you get to chose all your toppings and sauce you would like. Also got the poke burrito, same concept with choosing everything you want in it. I don't like giving one star reviews, but my friend and I were not happy with our poke bowls, and I am not happy with my milk tea. I believe the staff are still new and need more training. Our poke bowls were both very dry as they did not give us enough sauce. And for some reason the salad mix was extremely bitter so that was the dominate taste. The fish and mix-ins were at least fine but were overshadowed by the bitterness. I ordered a regular size milk tea. It came out missing 1/4 of the drink. How is this acceptable??? It's located in a large shopping plaza with tons of other eateries and plenty of parking (and charging stations nearby - for us, this was a plus). Didn't have high expectations going in but was pleasantly surprised by their friendly service and hospitality. That said, the poke didn't look super fresh - though it ended up tasting decent. The variety of customizable sauces and toppings helped elevate the flavor to our liking. Only 1-2 employees were working the counter, so service was a bit slow. Sometimes we've had great experiences when the food was delicious, but other times not so great. especially when the greens were black and mushy. Because of our past issues with the greens, he noticed there were very few lettuce leaves at the bottom of the container and they looked cold burned. He politely asked if he could get fresh greens, and the employee immediately said "No." What kind of customer service is that? My husband walked out, and on his way he saw another young employee and asked if he could have the owner's phone number. She gave it to him. We called the owner to explain what happened, and we were shocked when he said he was unhappy because my husband was "harassing" his niece. That is absolutely not true. Let me put it to you straight: if you really like sushi, you wouldn't want to eat it here. Why? Because the sushi is kept exposed to the air in Pokemoto, which is about maybe 64°. All the fish is pre-chunked and looks pale, like it's from frozen, and is sitting at a temperature much higher then it should be exposed to. Raw fish at this ambient temperature will grow bacteria like crazy in about two hours. The reason I gave them two stars was because they have a good framework. You start with a Poké bowl, Poké burrito or Poké salad; add your protein, (options include a lobster seafood salad, Spam, chicken, shrimp, and tofu). Add your extra flavors, toppings, and crunch . For this creatively presented but unhealthy seafood, a simple 2-topper is about about $16 and goes up quickly from there. Sadly, the sourcing of their seafood should be spelled out and staff should be trained in chilling protection. Ambience is fresh and simple. Ample free parking in the adjacent lot. read more

Ordered two boba drinks. When the worker was making them, she dropped one of the shaker lids on the floor. The floors were dirty. She picked it up and placed it on the counter next to what I assume was a clean shaker lid, which was already disturbing. I didn't say anything at first because I assumed she wouldn't actually use the dirty lid but she did and proceeded to use it on my drink. I had to tell her to remake the drink because using something that fell on a dirty floor is unacceptable. While remaking it, she dropped one of the plastic cups on the floor and threw it away, which is the correct thing to do. That made the situation even more frustrating because it clearly shows she knew items that touch the floor shouldn't be used, yet she still used the dirty shaker lid earlier. Sanitation should be common sense. This experience was disturbing and left me very uncomfortable. read more
